FX AMP Regulator rebuild UK spec

Ғылым және технология

Hi, guys a video for you here today on rebuilding the FX AMP regulator, this is the reg in most modern FX rifles (Crown, Impact, Dreamtac bottle version). So here's me rebuilding it properly.
I posted a couple of seal and tool kits on Ebay link below, or search FX Impact/ crown AMP reg kit on Ebay.

My Maverick came through at about 10.8 lb/ft, and I don't think there is anything wrong, it may just be the importer setting the power on the low side to be safe. Your RFD should be able to sort it though, the hammer spring just needs adjusting up a little. But let us know what happens. Thanks for watching.

Standard deviation is 2 fps now and could never get that with the polymer piston. By chance do you sell brass pistons and if so I can I get a few? I can’t recall where I got the last one but I have two other impacts I want to upgrade. Great video and helped me upgrade my regulator. Thx!

Can You tell, after how many shots the AMP reg needs rebuild? I have a Dreamline, bottle version. I've shot probably 2000-2500 shots, but now the speeds are very inconsistent. Last string was 23 shots with extreme spread of 40fps. For example, if I start the string then first 4 shots will be with ES about 2-4 fps and then the 5th shot is like 20-25fps lower. Couple of shots on that lower speed and then jumps up to higher speed. Like every couple of shots changes speed for about 20 or so fps. Smells like reg rebuild?

FAC bellevilles are between 0.5 and 0.6mm thick, for sub 12 you don't want the FAC bellevilles in the reg it just makes it much harder to get the reg pressure low enough, and you have very little adjust ability below 100bar. Thanks for watching

The reg sounds like its creeping, it the top of the piston damaged? a small amount of creep is normal (1-2 bar)but 10 bar sounds excessive, also are you sure its not the gauge settling down, some of the analog gauges take time to settle down and start reading correctly. Thanks for watching.

Jeff is spot on, hence my question regards the pellets. I was getting 10.8 ft lbs with AADF and JSB when the gun arrived. With the 10.34 heavies it was putting out 11.3. I've tweaked the hammer spring adjuster slightly now and get 11.6 ft lbs with the heavies, and 11.2 with any 8.44 pellet. The shot to shot consistency with the heavies is better in my rifle. Shot a 10 shot string this morning with spread of 4 fps and std dev of 1.2. Thought that was a fluke so tried again and got exactly the same result. I find with the 8.44 there is a little more spread, although that is still only 9 fps with a std dev of 3, so still amazing. The other thing is you need to shoot probably 150 shots through the rifle before testing. The regulators need some time to bed in. I've put more than a tin through mine now and it is amazing. Enjoy it when you get it back.

@@grantbennett9879 thanks grant it’s probably me worrying over something which may be something not to worry about... I was probably expecting it to be at least 11.6 out of the box and when the chronograph said 10.5/6 it got me thinking for a rifle of this much money it should be 11.6 out the box.. anyway we’ll see what happens I myself don’t want to adjust anything in case I bugger it up just don’t have the guts lol.

@@andydowden8117 Yes 11.6 out of the box is a tricky one, lots of people use 8.44 if you set a rifle to 11.6 with 8.44 it will be over the 12 with 10.34 and if you set it to 11.6 with 10.34 it the seems low with 8.44 so it is bit tricky for the RFD, it's the stupid law

They are a bit hit and miss, some gauges are very accurate and some are way off, I put Wiki gauges on this rifle just so I was confident what pressures I had in the rifle. Thanks for watching.

@@andydowden8117 if you shoot it down to 60 bar the power might rise up wards if the hammer spring is set up wrong, try it if it does it just needs the hammer spring backing off a little bit
