Here is my procedure on how to completely eliminate regulator creep on the FX AMP regulator.
I have fixed and resolved many AMP regulator issues including the commonly know reg creep.

lol good idea of dry firing and then increasing the reg pressure . i do the exact same procedure but my reason was that there is less pressure in the plenum hence leading to less strain on the surfaces.(same idea though)
Outstanding video, nice detail, quality at its Best! Great advice as well on it’s just not a good idea to adjust any airgun under such high pressure and brilliant on the quick adjust immediately after firing! Thanks buddy!

Hi ,like how you adjust the reg screw (firing a shot off) so No damage to the reg /piston ,this must work for Decreasing reg pressure (turning screw clockwise) ? Be good to know your thoughts on that !
Good afternoon, I clean the same as yours, but this is for what fine brass sandpaper to sand, do you want flat or slightly conical?
Brilliant Video, it's answered a lot of questions about Reg creep on my sub 12 Maverick, i have wondered about fitting the adjuster screw with new O'Rings fitted going through the threads of the Reg body causing damage to the O'Rings, i have 11 washers in my Maverick Reg, 6x 0.5 4x 0.4 and 1x 0.5 is there any particular order in size they should go on the shaft.

What a detailed explanation and tutorial on Regulators! Thanks, PA! what should be the highest reg pressures (first reg & second reg?) FX Maverick can handle shooting at, in .177 (FAC)? i'm using 16gr JSBs, with 13gm hammer, PW 2, Screw 0. I figured out my Maverick had most O-rings dried, and after a day of shooting it developed a leakage coming out of barrel... waiting for the O-rings kit for now...

Thanks for the vid, think my regulators could do with some tlc. My M3 first reg seems to go down in pressure from 180 to 160 bar, have you seen this reduction before? My second reg sometimes creeps from 150 - 153bar and causes the fps to increase and reduce after quite a few shots (~100) What grit paper were you mostly using? Were you going up in stages through all 6? Thanks.

Hey buddy, if it is working then put it back together as it was. Its not then amount of washers necessarily but more to do with the thickness of the washers. Thanks for you comment 🙏
Brilliant tutorial, everything explained very clearly, thank you for sharing your knowledge. You mentioned Maverick regs, my .25 sniper secondary reg has 12 washers, surprised to see 5 x .45mm, 4 x .35mm & 3 x 0.52mm.expected them to be all the same is this normal in your experience? Both parts are convex and the sealing face is only the very very centre of the parts. No need to use any lapping paste or fluoride is you use the polishing cloths.

At the end of your video you say your a fan of using higher regulator pressure. So you set the reg a little higher (how much higher?) and then use the micro/macro to adjust the the pellet speed down?

My example, I can shoot my chosen ammo at 975fps using 115-120 bar regulator pressures and increasing hammer force. However, I shoot my ammo at 975 fps with 140 bar regulator and less hammer force, so a short sharp burst of air instead of a lower prolong burst of air. The gun shoots, handles so much better, it is much more quieter with less recoil and it actually uses only uses 1 bar per shot instead of 2-3 bar per shot on the lower reg settings. How this helps you out and answers your question.
@garrettlutzow1732
2 жыл бұрын
That is very helpful information. What percent below the plateau velocity do you like to be at? Lots of people say 3-5% is good for a consistent and flat shot string and reduces lower velocity first shots. But at that range the gun does use a lot of air.

I remove the rear reg gauge and use LP air in the reg gauge hole to blow the piston out while maintaining pressure and control on the reg piston, so that it doesn’t shoot out. Hope that helps 👍🏻

Dear Brother, After endless search, l guess l have found a probable solution outhere..My brand new FX Impact M3 .177 1st Regulator creeps between 155-175 bar quite frequently. Now the issue is, l live in the country where neither FX provide services nor dealers have spare parts. If I unscrew more the regulator set screw it vents and blow out all the air of the plenum. Can someone help me? Many thanks.

At what the price is with this gun the regulators should be polished and bullet proof. I have only had my gun for a little over a month and have already had to replace the first reg. Now I am sending the gun for gun creep because I really do not think its okay to have two problems in less than a month. It better come back with a good tune and no problems as to ship the gun will be $100 Fedex that I have to pay. Bullshit.
@precisionairguns5553

Sorry to hear you have had problems, thats a bummer. The regulators are not as bad as people make out tbh, when set up correctly they work perfectly. Mine can sit with full bottle pressures and not creep at all. The issues arise from it being a fully adjustable regulator, people like to over turn to often, this is what causes the damage and the problems. Best advise I can give anyone, is do the work and set reg and never touch it, if if you have to adjust like I mention in the video. Hope you get yours sorted

What is the cause when your reg pressure is the same as your bottle pressure
@precisionairguns5553

That problem is a result of damaged contact faces or a failure of the lower 2x1mm oring on the brass adjuster screw.
