About 40 years ago, my friend and I were heading out to lunch. We were passing an optical shop and he turns to me and says “Hold on a minute” and he heads into the store. I’m mystified since he didn’t need or wear glasses. So I just follow him in. He walks up to the counter and anxiously asked the guy standing behind it: “Are you open on Thursday’s?’ The guy is like “ah, yea we are.’ ‘Thank You!!” and turns and leaves the store. I barely got out of the store, I was laughing so hard!

If a “sailboat” has a need for gas, it’s not a sailboat.
@SpiritBear12
5 жыл бұрын
Yes it is, because once you're out of the marina, you raise the sails and cut off the engine. You can't sail in and out of your slip at the marina with your sails up, it wont work. You can't go in reverse with sails either. There are times when the wind totally dies and you don't go any where. That situation is called "stays". Getting stuck in stays absolutely sucks. Having a motor will get you out of that situation if need be. Sails are great when there is wind, but when there's no wind to be had, it's a bad problem. It's not fun to be stuck out on the ocean or even in the middle of the bay and the boat goes no where, just sits there and bobs in the water and you cook in the sun.

Funny. Carlin is the best ever. But he had dozens of better routines than this.

You've got more than 500 downvotes on a George Carlin video, because you just HAD to do one of those "best thing EVER" titles. Stop doing that. People don't respond well to it.

I literally only came across this man yesterday because of a post on Facebook. He’s amazing. The funniest person. In mitigation I am from UK still I don’t know why he was celebrated here .
Are we just gonna ignore how perfect that baseball bat sound at 7:25 was?
I just discovered this guy and he's the funniest comedian I've heard! Also he was right on..wish people would listen to what he said...

Check out his routine called The Hippy Dippy Weatherman. Vintage Carlin
Definitely his best . Like a instruction manual for retired people on how to confuse and piss off those still working especially those late for work behind you at a tole booth.😁
This bit is why I love to go into crowded places and shout "your attention please, your attention" and after a couple moments I'll just say "thank you for your attention" and move on.

It amazes me that George was doing bits for yearsand in the middle of doing an old bit one more time he fucked it up and kept on going that truly proves George didn't give a damn he kept going the crowd kept cheering he did not care that's what makes George an awesome guy because even when he messed up he never had that quit mentality he was always that never-say-die never give up never surrender kind of person. For those of you who don't know out there George was a member of the United States military thank you for your service George you will be missed.
What Am I Doing In New Jersey was my favorite Carlin special. Loved this guy, he changed my perspective completely :DD
Saw him in 1975 in Omaha…laughed so hard I had tears running down my cheeks.
He is absolutely brilliant with a wide range of expressions and observations of real people
Just when I thought I'd seen all of Carlin. Thank you so much for the upload! I needed to laugh today. Namaste.
This one's from the 80's when times were more conservative, ergo the lack of anti-establishment & political bits. Still hilarious! Thanks for posting!

Nah, George wasn't afraid to go there. He just wasn't as angry as he got into the 90s and early 2000s.

Speaking of toll roads; I had an uncle who drove a big rig for years. Since he knew he did not pay a toll when hauling gas or fuel; he would tell the attendents he had a truck load of "sailboat fuel". He said he never got stopped and drove right on through when he said this.

Cranford Ducain He was BSing you. All trucks pay tolls. It's that he was lying to them to not have to pay. I haul food to hazmat. We all pay a toll. No one is special here to be able to get out of it.

My father's sail boat has two engines, an in board and an outboard, so he does need fuel for them. In fact, many sail boats have engines in them.

If a “sailboat” has a need for gas, it’s not a sailboat.
@SpiritBear12

I would have voted for George Carlin if he ever ran 😂
His brain was MARVELOUS!!!
George Carlin, Sam Kineson, Bill Hicks. Much needed now.
Only a sensitive person can even come up with such humor. That is life is ironically funny 😂
Rip dear George..you were great!!!
ARE YOU OPENED ON THURSDAAAY?!!! Yes. THANK YOU!!! 🤣🤣🤣
That's an elaborate set for a stand-up show.
02:15, I've got a stitch in my side and I'm crying from laughing so hard.
Honestly this had me laughing harder than his other bits and I watch A LOT of standup. Sometimes hours a day at least 2x a week. Good selection. He was just being goofy instead of teaching lessons in the process here
