STORYLINE:
Hundreds of mourners turned out for the funeral of actor James Gandolfini at New York's Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine on Thursday.
Family members, fellow actors and other loved ones embraced as the funeral procession made its way to the side entrance of the historic cathedral.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christi was among the attendees, as was actor Alec Baldwin.
After the ceremony, fellow "Sopranos" actors spoke fondly of Gandolfini.
"He was a joy to work with, a great actor, a great man and a great human being and a great humanitarian, said Frank Albanese, who played "Uncle Pat Blundetto" in "The Sopranos."
Tony Sirico, who played "Paulie Walnuts" in the series, mourned for the beloved actor's family. "He's got a new baby, she'll grow up and have to be told who he was by her mom. It's sad, sad."
The 51-year-old actor was best known for his role as mob boss Tony Soprano in the HBO series.
Gandolfini died of a heart attack last week while vacationing with his son in Italy.

James was truly a great actor and a phenomenal person. Why is it always the good ones that get taken away so soon? James was larger than life but he was very humble, he was always his biggest critic. He often said he wasn't worth alot of the notoriety he attained and he said he wasn't interesting enough to be on a talk show like Letterman or Leno. James was wrong, he was super interesting and such an amazing and intriguing person. I've never met him personally but I miss him as if I've known him all of my life.

Got a question for ya. How does a person die at 51 years old with so much going for them? He left 70 MILLION DOLLARS and that's not counting cars, houses, investments, you name it. My own crazy, good for nothing, child abusing sicko I had for a mother died at 57 and that was because she lived on a steady diet of NO EXERCISE AND JUNK FOOD FOR WELL OVER 50 YEARS! What is the world could have gone wrong with this guy? I had triple bypass open heart surgery in 2011 when I was 44 years old. Being the blimp I was, its to be expected. Now I take my blood thinning medications and my cholesterol meds religiously and have done so all these years. I've been flat broke poor my whole life and I'll never forget that I outlived James Gandolfini. I never achieved 1% of what he did. I never had 1% of all the things to look forward to that he had. I never had the chance to go past my bad luck, but people like Gandolfini have nothing but good luck come their way their whole lives, until the day he died and was taken from us. Self made millionaire dies at 51 years old. Am I supposed to believe my life was worth more than his? Here I am at 56 years old and I'm still trying to figure out who I am and WHAT I'M DOING ON THIS THING CALLED PLANET EARTH! Maybe you people reading this can help me.
