Terrific vid! I bought a 15' + flat bottom skiff (Bolger Featherwind) for only $700 in early August, and I've been working on it. It had a leak below the mast step. I'll send pics in a month or so.

Hey Paul, since cooking is such an important feature of your videos, would you consider doing a video on galley boxes (i.e. sizes, stoves, features, etc.)? I'm in the process of developing a galley box for a Navigator, focusing on Trangia, but I think it could be useful for a bunch of other cruisers. My plan is to make a parametric model to fit various boats. Thanks for the off-season inspiration in the Pacific Northwest of the US!

Hi I have done a video on my galley box. As It had to fit under the thwart it was made to measure, that's often the case with most dinghies. As I use butane gas, the base was designed to hold the cannister and Trangias are a little bigger. I hope this helps here is the video ,and thanks for watching, cheers Paul kzread.info/dash/bejne/mW1sj8ildK6YZLw.html
Glad to hear the outboard fix worked a treat ! I was trying to sail upwind toward the sand isles this weekend on the Lake Mac raid, and getting no where, could not even get the boat to go through the wind to tack. Not until much later on the downwind run to Birdcage did I notice I had left the outboard right down. They certainly do cause a lot of drag !

Hi Arthur, yes Australians are very easy going and don't take things too seriously, except for the Wallabies and the rugby world cup.....but we don't mention that. Luckily there are a lot of good waterways very near Sydney and up or down the coast within 3 hrs. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Thanks Paul. Nice to see how well your boat goes without the outboard dragging. I was also interested in the GUS and can I say the mirror cat yawl. The latter looked spot on.

Hi Paul. Another great video. Thanks for all your efforts putting these together. Like the outboard lifting gear. I have a similar issue with my Mariner 4hp 4stroke on my Willow Bay Shilling Yawl. The well puts the engine in a very convenient position but, like you, I can’t tilt it out of the water. Can you show/tell us a bit more about your solution at some point? Thanks. Paul.

Hi Gene, well we are just about into spring here... a few weeks to go. But we have had a couple of heat waves already (35c) for a few days and then back to mid 20's. I think this summer is going to be very dry with a lot of bushfires. But hopefully we will get a lot of sails in to keep you going... the group is definitely growing, thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
Thank you for this video. Just a tiny (very little) mistake : the François Vivier Boat (John from UK) is not a "LIur" but an "Ilur" (with a "i" as first letter.).🙂 It's the name of a small island in Brittany

Hi Paul. A bit of a suggestion (not Deb). You always feature the boats that round up for the raid with a few brief shots and a couple of questions. I think it would be good to do longer sections on the boats and skipper/ builders. Special little alterations, home made fittings, problems with the build and stuff like that. I know that most folks just want to get the boat into the water and sail away, but with your charm you could pull it off. I am especially interested in the Paradox, but I think every boat has a story. Gary in japan.

Thanks Gary yes it would be good to get more in depth interviews but people get very shy when a camera is stuck in their face.I really need to go these guys houses and interview them there as often there is not much time on lunch breaks etc. But thanks for the suggestion always open to ideas cheers Paul
... well, maybe you could write something about the conversion of the Heron dinghy and the other light green boat with the sleek cabin structure ? Paul from Flensburg/Germany ... and, I forgot, ... of course another well-made vid. about a nice day of sailing with good-humored people...

Outboards are for unfit people, I kind of ageee. However, I can remember some ocations when an outboard motor could have been great. I think your setup is close to perfect. What is your range on the motor?

Well with 2x brand new batteries (mine are 3 years old) according to the book 10 hrs at the slowest speed (1 knot) or 1 Hr at the highest speed (4 knots) but 4 knots is barely enough against tide and wind, Cheers Paul
