Interesting event but so many issues with the broadcast unfortunately. 1st: Camera angles - Why have head to head events when we got to see only one person at the time? 2nd: Sound - Hearing what is going on at the comp is such an important part of the show. It did not feel visceral as we did not hear the implements moving, athletes grunting etc. 3rd: No graphics - It should be fairly easy to add basic graphics: points totals after events, how many reps athlete has done currently, timer.

@@brockmeade4450 Agreed on both points, also Smaukstelis had to load his own plates and no other athlete did. Reportedly the flag pull was timed differently depending on the judge (either flag going up or down) and flag did get stuck as well. Final graphics missed Tom Stoltman. What an absolute shitshow.

Too many variables with the timed Deadlift! To truly be fair the times should be from the time the bar breaks the floor and then returned. The guys loading the plates shouldn’t be part of this time. And then the 1st guy loads his own plates (as per the rules) for the first few lifts. Ridiculous! 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I'm confused! Weren't they supposed to put plates on themselves on the death lift? Because Aivars was one of the only guys who was strapping himself off the bar to actually load the plates. Even Shivlyakov was strapping himself off the bar to load the plates only to see that that was already taken care of. Everyone else later was strapped on the whole time which is unfair. I honestly don't know what the hell happened there but they should really be clear about what the rules are.

    1. Let us hear the athletes grunting, supporting each other (Come on Tom!) and weights hitting the floor 2. Show both athletes during head to head events 3. Figure out best camera angles beforehand. Angles on the flag event were horrible in the beginning, with camera panning to the weights and we would have no idea how the athlete was pulling throughout the pole 4. Add more info to the screen. Weights, times, points, athlete names 5. For god’s sake don’t add rules just to disregard them later. Don’t include random people scrambling to setup in the middle of the timed event. 6. Whoever thought putting little foam squares together for the dumbbell press event would be a good cushion, fire him.

All the money with no knowledge at present. I would strongly recommend with investing in a full production team as well as trained individuals educating the spotters. It also begs the question if there was an athlete meeting also as I feel a few of them would of had a lot to say on various things such as small mats that consistently move instead of one large mat as one example.

Now, I think this was overall a good show. More events could have been good, but I guess the 10 stone run equals two events. The only problem was that first event: it wasnt about the athletes, it was about how fast their loaders were. Either do it as a medley/ladder, or make the competitors do it. Right now its a joke. The hoist was a good event imo. Maybe some revisions on rules: allowing people to wear gloves really made it different, they could have the rope slip. I guess since everyone was allowed its fair, but I still feel it shouldnt have been allowed.
