The vintage washing machine control panels in the 1960s were so cool.. They were always so elegant and pleasing to the eye.. Loved how they lit up with fluorescent lights too.. Vintage conventional top loads from earlier days were the best.. Great agitation on this machine. Excellent roll over. What a great washing machine... thanks for the video...

Looking back at the different agitator designs GE used between going back and forth between straight and ramp I have to admit that this was the pinnacle of GEs agitator designs. The straight vanes were good and I like straight generally over the ramp style but GE certainly nailed it with this ramp style. They must have thought so to as this is what the filter flo machines went out with in 1994/95.

FilterFlos always had "high" fill levels and took more water than other designs anyway because of the larger outer tub. That spray rinse seems a little short compared to others I recall.

These washers were so well built. Whirlpool and GE with the big sellers of that era. This washers had the straight vain and this ramp agitator. The both were "splashy" and loud agitators, but they got the job done 💯. Would be nice to see the straight vain if you have access to one. Thanks for posting this amazing vintage machine. Love the GE washer, searching for an early 1972 Americana Heavy Duty 18 for a new daily driver. This high ramp ACTIVATOR agitator really is second to the best oscillation agitator, the dual-action (spiral vane) agitator in the industry. It's AMAZING how it forcefully turns the wash load over for the smallest loads...even overloaded, the ramps still turnover the wash load...Video Request...could you make a full cycle video a LARGE load of mixed colors so you watch the high ramps move the load at the highest water level? Thanks for your videos

My Mother had a 1972 Heavy Duty 18 middle of the pack model purchased brand new. It had a straight vane agitator that didn't turn the load over anything like this one. She had to poke the clothes with a stick to force them down into the water as it usually wouldn't draw them in by itself with a large load. This type of agitator gives MUCH BETTER results. In fact when I turned 6 or 7 it was my job to be the clothes poker if she washed a large load.

Hello from Germany, I have a question :) our washing machines have a heating element can determine the temperature yourself, your washing machines don't have that, you have cold, cold and warm, warm and warm, hot as far as I know, how do you know how much grave does that have warm and warm water? and a little compliment, I like to hear your voice very much, it has something soothing :)
