FULL Bodycam Shows Arrest of Marshawn Lynch for Suspected DUI

Ойын-сауық

WATCH: The full bodycam footage of former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch's arrest for suspected DUI was released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Authorities say Lynch was apparently found sleeping in a vehicle that was in an undrivable condition. The police report says the front driver's side wheel had no rim or tire and that both passenger's side tires were about to fall off.

As I watch this sober since Oct 31 2021, I get real anxious. That night my wife called the cops on me and I drove blacked out. I woke up with car on, in drive with my foot on the break, at 330am. I am lucky that I didnt hit the gas when I fell asleep. Across the street was a 100 foot embankment leading down to a 70mph highway. I was lucky. Lucky to not get a DUI. LUCKY TO NOT DIE. This can happen to anyone. Please, please do not drink and drive. It is too dangerous and we can hurt or kill some one including ourselves. I PRAISE GOD FOR MY SOBRIETY AND THE ABILITY TO HOLD MY 1 YEAR OLD SON IN MY ARMS. IT TOOK ME GOING TO REHAB TO GET OFF ALCOHOL AND COCAINE. I AM BLESSED TO BE SOBER. PRAISE GOD.

I have absolutely no compassion for anyone who chooses to drive under the influence of alcohol or any other substance. Some of you think it’s no big deal but wait until you lose family members because of somebody’s selfishness. It’s devastating and incredibly painful- I found this person to be absolutely disgusting.

The legality of charging someone with a DUI or DWI if the police officer did not actually witness them driving while intoxicated depends on the jurisdiction, but generally, an officer cannot make an arrest solely based on circumstantial evidence if they did not personally observe the alleged offense. Some key considerations: In most states, an officer needs probable cause that someone drove while intoxicated, which is typically established by observing impaired driving directly. Circumstantial evidence like finding someone drunk near a crashed vehicle may create reasonable suspicion but is often insufficient for probable cause on its own. Additional evidence is usually required - like witness statements, failed sobriety testing, admission of driving, etc. Courts have upheld that officers cannot arrest for DUI/DWI without actually observing the defendant operating the vehicle while intoxicated. So while circumstantial evidence may provide grounds for further investigation, making an arrest would likely be difficult to justify legally without the officer witnessing the driving behavior themselves. Exceptions may apply in certain situations, but directly observing the offense provides the strongest legal basis for a DUI/DWI charge. A competent defense attorney would challenge a charge based solely on circumstantial evidence.

yeah but the totality of the circumstances is sufficient for PC and an arrest. His car being disabled on a public thoroughfare with him under the influence and passed out behind the wheel with the engine running is illegal in and of itself. Then he gave her a fake name. That's another crime. The only way he'll get out of this is money.
