Full Body Strength Training for Seniors & Beginners // Choose your level!

Grab a set of dumbbells and join me for this total body "choose your own adventure" workout!
After a warm up we will begin with a simple exercise for the lower body, then an exercise for the upper body. We will then repeat those two moves as we just did them, or at a more advanced level. The second set of all the exercises are presented with a more intense option. You get to decide which level you would like to perform them at.
I'm using a set of 4 pound dumbbells or 2Kgs. Feel free to use lighter or heavier weights to fit your needs. This is also a great workout to return to and increase your weights to build your strength!
The first half of the workout is in a standing position, and the second half is on the floor. The workout is completed with stretching on mat.

I am 66 years old and use your videos for strength training 2-3 times per week. This is one of my favorite so far (and I’ve used many)! I love this weight routine! I especially appreciate what a well-rounded workout this is. It leaves me feeling refreshed and invigorated. PS - I am 71 and do one of your routines 5 days a week. So nice to be able to do barre one day, dance the next, and then weights the following day. Love the variety!

I agree. I'm 60 this year. I try to do these regularly 4/5 times a week and have lost weight too. Like you I love the attention to detail, no loud music or overhyped VoiceOver. Great for women around my age, functional and strengthening. It's my go to channel.

Hi Lauren, I didn't really want to join a seniors or beginners class, as im 53 and used to to pilates 4 times a week, but I developed bursitis in both my shoulders and both hips, so was unable to participate in any of my usual classes. I found you and it is just the right level for me, im hoping to build strength and then will be able to up the weights and improve, thank you so much for these classes!

Lauren, I love that you remind us of good posture. Good positions all throughout the workout because I will relax very quickly but that's why I stay with you. There are hundreds of exercises for seniors on the internet. But I stay with you because you always emphasize proper form proper posture and as you get older you have to have that all you end up with injuries. I learned that the hard way. Thank you so much for all the variety. I can do a different video everyday and work my whole body. Keep up the good work. Thanks

This was great! I alternated between 3lb and 5 lb weights depending on the move. I just had my 68th birthday a week ago and I am definitely in better shape than I was 30 years ago!

Love this one, Lauren! Agreed, more longer duration classes. I was so surprised how much stronger my left shoulder was than my right….in the one move on the floor for rotator cuff…..Gives me something to shoot for: more balanced strength . Thank you❤!

Loved this, thank you Lauren. This is the perfect amount of time for me. I do your workouts in the morning and have a walk in the afternoon weather permitting. I’m going to be starting this workout (I have a few health issues ) in last weekend of June when I’m not rushed. I will make this my daily routine. I just saw pop of your video and I thought it was wonderful so I’ll start with this video for beginner senior. Thank you for providing this excellent video. This s another one of my fav workouts! It's so exciting to be able to tell I'm getting stronger and have more range of motion in my trouble areas. I love this workout and all the Lauren workouts I have tried over the past couple of years. One note: A safer alternative to the "skull-crusher" move for triceps (it makes me nervous) is the overhead pull, so you just touch the floor just above your head instead of touching the weights to your forehead.

This is now one of my favorite workouts for my all-strength training Tuesdays and Thursdays! I like that you have included floor work as well as standing strength. I am 73 years old & have osteoarthritis & most exercise routines stress my body vs improve. Your routines are wonderful & I greatly appreciate the time you take to instruct which enables me to make the most of the routines accordingly. In only a week, I already feel a bit stronger! I love how your class starts with a beautiful warm up before beginning also the cool down at the end. Both of these are so necessary so you don’t get injured. This workout was a bit longer which I enjoyed thank you for so many options throughout the class. 😅

I recently found your channel, and this video was so fun and engaging!! I love the pairs of moves and the combos. I'm 29, and I'm already getting so much better at the climbing gym with my friends, and rounding out my strengths : )
