In this exercise video Meredith is guiding you through an easy to follow, full body seated stretch routine. This exercise is perfect for beginners or anyone who prefers seated exercises which are safer for those with limitations or prefer the comfortablity of the seated position in general. This can also be performed by all fitness levels as well.
Regular stretching is important and should be included in a weekly exercise schedule. Regularly worked muscles can tend to tighten over time even just from everyday activities like walking, carrying groceries or going up and down stairs. It is easy to overestimate the strain our bodies handle each day and incorporating a regular stretching routine can help with longevity and mobility. Stretching your whole body each week will help relax and massage your most used muscles which helps overall health... and most of all, it feels great!
Remember to only do movements that don't cause any pain or discomfort when doing this routine and take breaks if you need to.

Dear Meredith, for a while I stopped doing exercises, (laziness), and before that, I was training every single day, following your guide. Today I discovered this new video, and I said to me... let's try! OMG! Pain everywhere, everything was hard to do, my legs were like wood. WOW! I knew that a certain age you can't stop doing exercises, because it's very easy to lose muscles, but I wasn't expecting anything like that. Good lesson! I have to keep in my mind that my body is no more the one I had when I was younger, and I have to train a little every day, better ten minutes only than nothing! Your exercises are absolutely great, and perfect for the purpose of keeping fit. We have always remember (I'm talking to people of my age, 60+) that to walk we basically need legs and abs. Of course, everything is important, but abs and legs are the priority. Thanks a lot Meredith, for what you're doing to help us to remember that we have only one body, and we should take care of it as much as we can. Love

Hi, I do not have a standing stretch workout. I do some standing stretches after standing workouts. I hope this helps.
Do you think you could do your seated exercises using a large exercise ball?

Yes, as long as core is engaged and you keep good posture. Always focus on safety and form :)
