I find it very often that there's no CV when I take any of my fully AA built ships. Way too many times to not think it's rigged.

It's not rigged at all, it's a very common confirmation bias. You're more likely to notice the lack of a carrier when you're running an anti-carrier build. While the class is very oppressive, there's actually not that many games with them. Plus, if you run a Worcester with an anti-air build, your odds of it being relevant are extremely low: - A carrier can be absent. - A carrier can be present, but is unlikely to go for a Worcester. - A carrier can be present, is highly unlikely to go for an anti-air build Worcester.

Your build just counters CVs so well that they don't even spawn in. Impressive PQ ;)

Never ceases to amaze me how this exact circumstance occurs. Seems to be very regular if I do the same thing. Its almost like there is some hidden protection within match maker for this. We cant have you upsetting "poor CVs" and making the game "not fun" for them can we. That is apparently only allowed when it is the other way around...................

In that first game it amazed me how both the Minotaur and Shima tried to chase a *Worcester* down in spawn. Most of all a *SHIMA* . A torp boat trying to hunt down a radar Light Cruiser is crazy.

Build for guns and concealment- if you're up against a DD that outguns you, outspot it. If you're up against something you outgun, you grind it down until its HP is low enough for you to finish it off with the funny-button. If you're stuck fighting a stronger gunboat you use the funny-button to out-trade it and then time your smokes to disengage and back off whilst waiting for funny button to recharge, then repeat. If you think the enemy's going to break contact, then obv you use the funny-button to get as many salvoes in possible before they go dark. Once the enemy DDs / subs are neutralised you're free to island / smoke farm - use the funny button to quickly relight perma-fires timed to land once their DCP expires; or throw out opportunistic torpedoes. If you've got enough CO points to get the range extension skill, you can speed-juke at max-range whilst farming to a degree (although it can be a bit too risky if you're at low health); combined with abusing enemy traverse / reload times you can somewhat mitigate the risk. Just countering the enemy DDs / Subs is enough to win games.

I would love to see a Bayard video. It's so rare to see the ship... I actually went for a full rudder shift build with mine, kinda troll ik, but super fun to play, wiggling my butt and actually being able to dodge even carrier stuff.

Another more subtle problem with AA builds, is that in the case one proves to be extremely effective, then it’s likely the CV just won’t come back for the remainder of the game…

as someone that plays CV only on certain occasions, i know that you never go close to a Worchester (and most other light cruisers) as they just chew up ships. i think an AA build on most CLs is a waste as you only get CVs in some games, but the other skills and mods can be used every game.

I'm gonna try this but with the Yodo. It doesn't have quite the raw damage of Wooster AA but it's decent + it has that long 6.9 km range. My thoughts are to play more as BB escort and just throw torps and salvos from the back while keeping the AA bubble over as many green ships as possible. Should be a fun change of pace.

I have a Full AA Eugen... When i am sick of dealing with planes I go play it. Tin foil hat but i swear the MM keeps the carriers away from games where people bring AA. most of the time i get no carrier games in it. and when i get a carrier i get to shoot a lotta planes. PB so far is 56 though that was a double carrier game and one of the carriers was a T6.

MM knew you were AA build which isnt allowed to effect CVs being WG favorite baby. Ship pick: Grozovoi

My worc has 70% WR on 68 games i have always used IFHE but more importantly RPF as its early game role is a dd hunter then mid end game island hugging lobbing firing. And i mainly just use the rear most guns as you rightly mentioned you'll rarely take any damage but again more importantly keeps the main structure hidden meaning very frustrating for enemy ships 😊 Cheers

Let's gooooo! Been running full aa and lighthouse on mine for a while and when it works it WORKS. Only downside is I'm visible from orbit and get deleted 2 minutes in most games...

As I've learned with my AA build Cleveland, I almost never see CV's with it... almost like WeeGee doesn't want my eating planes for some reason...

It's good to see you can outperform everything in the match with the ship, which is very long time in WoW. Worcester was my 1st T10 cruiser. I am just curious how would you rate AA on Dutch cruisers nowadays. I remember it was very powerfull at their release. Maybe still as strong as Worcester, right? Xd

My favorite "revenge" against CV when I have been bullied once too many in a DD. CV's usually dont come back for seconds :)

That 2nd match, PQ... I don't think it's a matter of them not learning, but more that they don't give a damn. The amount of times where i had to go from my spawn, clear across the other side of our spawn to make up for a gap that shouldn't be there is astounding. The sad thing is that team was so sure that they won because their "Train" worked for that particular map, when it was really a mix of me pushing the opposite flank, drawing the attention and forcing the reds to nose in to me and turn broadside to the rest of my team. They just don't give a damn, and there's no reason to do so, in all seriousness.

*Full (well no, don't drop aiming module for the lame preparation cooldown module, obv - that's a noobtrap) AA Neptune's pretty satisfying to abuse enemy CVs too. The reload module is a really painful trade-off just because Neptune's DPM without it is a bit sad tier-for-tier (you really feel it when you're trying to grind down saturated angled targets); but being able to have an out-sized impact on enemy CVs is circumstantially very valuable. When CVs barely get a single bomb or torp hitting a target in exchange for losing an entire squadron, they tend to rethink sending their planes anywhere near your part of the map. Part of the issue with AA, and probably why so many players prefer to whine about CVs rather than build against them, is how many loopholes there are in the mechanics. "Oh, you're AA specced? Well, this Indom captain knows how to slingshot so it just does nothing". "Oh this captain knows how to abuse the islands you're right next to, so no flak damage for him". "Oh that captain is in a Russian CV so gets free invisible damage reduction, and can release from the far extremes (or even outside of) your AA range." Ditto for the weak state of catapult fighters.

Malta will kill you in few strikes with AP bombs...done that to my Brisbane few times.

Probably unique upgrade improves AA too? At least, faster reload of priority sector and defensive fire. Also this helps with dds with faster radar

Full AA Ignacio Allendi, melts tier 6 and 8 CV planes i get 40+ plane kills if the cv gets mad, also my ship suggestion would be "Irian"

Got myself a Worcester after you recommended it to have a better chance against CVs and Subs. It feels great so far, especially having all those consumables to your disposal as well as low detection and long range AA!

i'll tell you this is the matchmaker. it's been doing this to AA ships for a while. not all of them, but some of them. My D7P, which is my favorite light cruiser to play, only has seen 3 CVs in the last calendar year. the last one in January. If you AA build a petro you have a fair chance to never see a CV too.

You should have div up with a CV to get at least one game with a CV, you know just to show the power of it. (You know the CV would come near you once and probs not again for the rest of the game anyways

This happens to me very commonly, if I play my wooster full AA build I don't find any CV but as soon as I change to a ship like shimakaze then there is no missing CV in each game, some times I feel like this is rigged because I can't explain how is that possible lol

In case you didn't know, every match is rigged in warships, naive people will say it is confirmation bias. Flambass had a whole video that confirms the rigged matchmaking on ships with good AA. It is not only wargaming that does this, almost all major game companies rig matchmaking it is an industry wide practice.
