Neustrashimy, please! You never ever played it, should come before other ships you featured multiple times ;) Thanks! I know it's not a ship you have a strong interest in (relatively poor accuracy on the guns), however the torps are insane when you make them work, and you got the concealment for it. I personally build it for torps, however the superheal still allows you to pick up fights with gunboats DDs and survive, which is quite unique. Build it for guns, and you'll still have a strong torpedo DD lying underneath, just with a longer reload.

@@SuperCrazf back in the days i was zao main in clan wars zao + shima one cap when they were pushing i just go dark find crosfire and go ap they ither turn on me and be for my team for broadside or feel the ap of zao , dev strikes on moskvas were always lovely to watch :D

@@_ORCApower_ respectfully disagree. Gascogne's secondary layout is superior and the smaller guns on both don't do a huge amount regardless. Either way he said OG and Gascogne came 1st. It's secondaries were a beast before the secondary rework, the German BCs and Massachusetts. I'm not a massive fan of Flandre, it struggles a lot when not top tier. I won't pretend Gascogne is the most competitive ship, but I find it a lot of fun.

Zaō was my first tier 10 ship. I noticed how I later really missed its accuracy when researching other ship lines. Very good ship to learn positioning due to its vulnerability, but it's not just great for farming down bigger ships, but also great to help your DDs in cap contesting. Still one of my favourite ships.

Zao in a division with a US DD smoking me in made for great Cap support and DD eraser.

What I miss about Zao is the rudder shift on the legendary module, you used to be able to turn out fire a full broadside and turn back in/dodge any return salvo. They nerfed that and then buffed its HP a bit when it was considered "weak" which didn't do anything to compensate.

It's been years since I have played WoWs, but I have fond memories of almost all of my Japanese ships. The first year or so after Beta was a lot of fun. As a US player I was in the minority as a non-USA/all Japanese and German loyalist. Zao was a beast back then, even though Atago was my favorite CA. I would love to see PQ start a series of videos showing division play. Showcase the synergy of ship combinations. Great content sir. Keep it up.

Loved your early game positioning in both games! Pushed up, but limited risk to your ship. The 2nd game I was wondering why you weren’t going for the B cap sooner, after the one engagement with Halland, but then you addressed my question right after, so I understand not wanting to risk being out there on your own. Anyways, GG! While I’m thinking about it, I’d love to see a Halland video. Those fast torps are too much fun! And playing DDs without smoke makes things interesting.

It ran entire flanks. It would turn back entire BB divs. Nothing like watching 2 yammies and a montana with 2-3 permas turn back to spawn because of a DD and a Zao.

Zao... the ship that needs the buff hammer BAD, but is so much fun to play because of the challenge it gives you. Objective oriented, it struggles but as a sniper and counter-assassin, its great.

Still my second most played ship overall...It's too bad they nerfed the UU rudder shift. The bad turret angles were more bearable with it.

Zao, is not bad on AP you know. On all IJN CAs Zao has the best AP amongs them. Even on pair with Yoshino. Zao is quite universal when it comes to HE and AP. She is a mix with both. She does reasonable HE damage, AP damage is also spicy. Basically it is a ship with pretty good at adapting in the battle. Broadside Des Moines? Accurate AP will do the trick. Seeing a BB trying to push? Spam the HE that has decent fire chance and damage. Seeing BBs getting too close? Tactical retreat with Torpedoes Love Kiss.

Have 1 ritual in wows, must win 1 game in Zao before i play any other ships. And i really love this ship, is not easy farm, but is most of the time fun gaming. Can in many situations deal with all ship types.

Hell yeah brotha ! I do a similar thing. ALWAYS a Cruiser but between T5 Marbrohed, T6 GrafSpee , T7 Southern Draggin' ,T8 Cleav'nd , T9 Rigga , or T10 Hindiburger . Then i start th grind for a while, but then i like to end onna high note w/ more CA's !!!

When the Zao came out...We called it Mr. Zao...cause if you were in a DD, you did not F with Mr. Zao.

AP on broadside US BBs. Can do a ton of damage (17k+ no cit) and no HE shatters on 38mm deck.

Play the Chikuma II! It just recently came out, it has an incredible amount of utility, and it prints money!

I personally consider Zao to still be a strong cruiser in tier 10. It requires skill to get the best out of it. But its main weakness is that it doesn’t have some of the other abilities like radar that allows other ships to have more impact. In that regard is similar to Yoshino and even Yodo

We got Venezia napoli Vermont and few others and out petro is super op and fun They also fixed spawns and moved the ships back on legends too

I think the ijn ca line is great, cl line lacks dpm and shell Velocity in my opinion, but the cas are extremely good. T6 and t7 are highpoints i think t8 is very difficult bc you still have only 300m more range than t6 and no spotter, but t9 then, yes lacks shell velocity but the gun angles are best in line and the dpm ist still as in the Rest of the line extremely good and zao is just top tier, only underrated bc people dont know how to dodge, i build my zao with ruddershift instead of conceal, absolute monster, very often 2 mio pot bc i dont get hit at 14km plus unless the enemy player is quite good or i misplay

If Zao would be a new ship it would have good firing and torp angles, better range and speed boost of course. But since its IJN it could also be an absolute pos like Yodo.

I love my Zao, my average dmg is 150k+. But she is pretty pain in ass in 2024. 20:11 look at this, an example for Zao experience in this days. Yes, she is a cruiser. Yes Ohio has big guns but man she has worst angles, small HP pool etc.

Well it still suffers from the crap curse of getting straight up cits if AP shells touch it from any angle..DM is a great improvement over it in reload and armour..other than that it's good in the punchiness of shells

You have to unlock the reaserch section. Basicaly you have to regrind a line and buy them again to unlock research points. Its the most grindy part of the game. Cant recommand doing it.
