Chris, my X-T5 was delivered Thursday. I had pre-watched your video when you first released it, and I re-pre watched it early this week as a warm up. Yesterday and today I slowed it down to .75 speed and went through it step by step for a final screening. Thanks for doing this, it took the pain out of the setup. Al

I want to give you a big thumbs up for laying out a sensible approach to setting up my Fujifilm XT-5. Having a solid background in film photography (and an being early adopter of digital) I have been long frustrated and driven to distraction by the multitude of non-specific and redundant controls built into pretty much all high end digital cameras. Your suggestions for setting up theXT-5 are practical, well presented and Much Appreciated!

I found this so, so useful Chris, as I just took delivery of my new X-T5 yesterday morning! Perfect timing!!

This is the best video on setting up the XT-5 menus, THANK YOU PAL2TECH!

One of the beautiful things about the XT bodies is that small function button in front next to the finger grip. My Nikon doesn't have one and I'm not sure about other brands. Instead of assigning this to playback which can be accessed from the back while you’re looking at the screen, I assigned the Back Button Focus function to this button. With your index finger on the shutter button, your middle finger will fall naturally on this button, making back focus so easy. The rear button that has this function assigned out of the box is hard to use with your thumb if you have large hands.

Chris, first thing I did when I received my X-T5 was open this video and use your guide for setup. Terrific channel, please keep creating valuable content like this!

Fuji are releasing, or have released, so many new cameras, it's difficult to keep on top of it all. I ,recently, purchased a S10 and that will be my last body purchase for a number of years.

My XT5 arrived on Saturday so thanks for this timely video. You always do a great job of clearly explaining the essentials, and keep it entertaining. Although I do have to call foul on the unboxing part. My battery was completely dead so there were a few hours between taking the camera out of the box and setting it up. Nice edit. 😂

Hi Chris. just a quick point about the sequencing of the changes you recommend. At 4.15 you suggest setting face/eye auto detect to on and then at 6.20 you suggest changing the photometry setting. However, once you've turned face/eye auto-detect on the photometry option gets yellowed out (as it is on your video at 6.32). I checked with the manual and that's what's supposed to happen. You may have done what I did and changed the photometry setting before turning on face-eye auto detect. However, the sequencing in your video might create a bit of confusion on this point. Otherwise I'm finding this very helpful - thank you!

This is such a great video tool for a person that never had a camera of such potential. It is a bit frustrating to use and navigate through an endless list of options and settings but with this video, the initial setup it was much smoother. I had watched through a handful of your videos and after an evening playing around with it, I have finally started to like it and realized I made a good decision to pick up this camera! :)

I've reviewed this video now, few days I got my x-t5 and after I already set it up according to my needs (I already was an x-t3 owner). I agree with you on some settings, and disagree on other ones, but it has been helpful in any case to let me (re)think to the various setup possibilities 👍🏻

Hi Chris, I've just invested in this beautiful camera. I've been using Nikon for years but fancied seeing what this camera can do. Your tutorial has been so helpful so thank you so much. I'm currently in Thailand and there is so much to photograph.. I've been passionate about photography since I was a child and now I'm an old git at 60 but still very passionate. Thanks again. Brilliant tutorial. I have three Nikons and a Canon with me so if I can't work things out with this Fuji I have pretty good back up. I will work it out though thanks to you. I'm waffling now so so I will say goodbye but rest assured I'll watch some of your other videos.
