FSB -- Randall Made Knives Model 1: A Living Legend

Here's a long look at a very special guest at TheApostleP sharpening bench, the Randall Made Model 1, a legendary fighting / survival knife from Orlando, FL, out of the mind of knife making legend, Bo Randall. But you shouldn't be reading the description... Enjoy the knife!

A .44 mag, a model 1 and a 110. About all a man needs to survive. Thanks Rob. I like the Blackjack 1-7 during the time Mike was at the helm.

I am so glad that someone actually used their Randall. I use my Model 14. I am surprised the ApostleP does not own one of these in the collection

michaelinsanantone , I have a Model 14 also . Given to me as a young Officer Of US Marines . That was in 1984 . The knife was well used for many applications . After all these years , I am going to send the knife back to Randall for a tune up . I need a new sheath also . The knife brings back many good memories 👍🏻

That pistol is an absolute gem, the Randall looks like a high end fighting blade which if I owned would never use, got the old 110 of course and the 119 which is one of my favorite fixed blades even though I have wrapped the handle with tennis tape, cause I use it. On saying all that I suppose most of us knife guys only use about half our knives more than 10 times a year, you have already done a video on our insanity Rob. Keeps us boys happy with our mans toys.

Great vid ..... and yes, I saw many of my fellow Marines carrying Randall knives during my 26 years in the US Marine Corps. However, I do prefer the 41 Remington Magnum over the 44 - nice to have choices .....

I own a new in the box Mk2 Gerber Presentation knife which my wife bought for me in 1979 or 1980 It has NO serrations on either side of blade, and is highly polished with polished brass finger guard and bolster and a hardwood (rosewood?) handle instead of the aluminum handle that my old 76ish mk2 sports ....anyone know how much it is worth? Have the original box and sheath also ....I would like to trade one of my gerbers for a Randall model 1

The Randall's knives are absolutely beautiful knives they must have started allowing you to choose the steel here recently because when I got mine it was beautifully balanced very well-constructed but the blade just would not hold an edge for nothing. I was actually going to leave a message on here saying how much of the blade steel sucked but now if you can choose different blade steels they're worth looking into that's for sure

The age old problem. Knowing how to sharpen!! Most pro knife sharpeners can't do Randall knives well because you have to sharpen to their specs. If you use Joe Blows super method for sharpening a Randall it won't work.

Not so sure if the U.S. saved the world or not during WW II, but it sure is a beautiful piece. Nonetheless, I prefer Blackjack Knives Model 12-9 (the so-called Randall Sportsman Bowie clone) and A2 tool steel blade cuts like a razor.

I gotta be honest ApostleP , im not getting the same hard your getting over that knife. Its history, of course, cant be argued with but for 5-700 dollars i can get me a whole arsenal of blades im totally familiar with and trust with my life. Of course i already have that stuff, so i think id spend my money on ammo, or perhaps a battle ready samurai sword

Deckard Shaw, weird, as I just pulled out my dad's WWII vintage Randall Model 1 that was later used to gut game he hunted through the 70s, and it's still damned sharp, although it hasn't been sharpened in more than 40 years. Keep in mind it was meant to gut an enemy, not carve a roast

I'm not really sure if this is the best video to attach this comment to, since I'm a newcomer to your channel. If you want to be both a prepper and a knife collector, don't *start* with a knife so expensive that you're afraid to actually go out and *use* it.
