    This is exactly why I love this series. Like... it's not just ordinary manga/anime that depicts justice or evil, Attack on Titan just depicted a history that's so brutal it makes people feel REAL, and the reason it feels real is also because we really had brutal wars in the real human history. Even though it's a totally fiction but it feels completely relatable, and I love how Isayama Hajime-san created this series with so much deep issues and the way he hides all these hints in the obvious places.

    @@geriott609 From what I personally think what the true meaning of this series is that no matter how brutal past we had, no matter how stupid that human beings are blinded by hatred, after ALL OF THESE.... what is left is that we accept how ugly the brutal human nature can be in our tears, the regret and pain is our salvation. It's both bloody ugly and beautiful at the same time.

    Good thing our whole worldwide nuclear arsenal can't destroy the whole world even once, it's not even enough to cover the global landmass. We have around 12.000 nuclear weapons worldwide with a total destructive power of around 1.460MT TNT. The biggest nuclear weapon ever detonated had an destruction radius of around 100km, if we cound third degree burns as destruction, if we want completly destroyed houses, the radius would only be around 55km. This bomb had around 50MT TNT destructive power. If we would use the 100km radius we would get an destructed area of 31.415km². If we want to destroy the surface completely, then no gaps may be left, which reduces this area to around 20.000km². So the complet arsenals power of 1.460MT TNT divided by 50MT TNT is 29,2 times the destruction of the strongest bomb, could cover an area of 584.000 km², the total surface of the landmass on earth is 149.000.000 km², so we could cover 0,4% of the surface of our landmass. In case of a "global" war, it will mostly involve first world nations (USA, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia) and some second world nations (Russia, China, India, maybe the arabic nations) So south america and africa, should be mostly safe from direct impacts, as well as a lot of rual areas, that are far away from military targets and the really big cities. Whoever does not get bombed, will still face the nuclear winter, which you could prepare for, as well as the fallout of radioactive materials falling with the rain in the first one or two years, which could highly effect you, if you eat food that accumulates radioactive materials, like mushrooms for example. If I remember right there should be a study somewhere about which foods accumulate radioactive materials and what food does not, since they testet it in the Chernobyl exclusion zone. About the background radiation, it should increase by up to 100% of how much it is right now, which is a value, that is still way below the value which is deemed unhealty. We are at 2,40 millisieverts per year right now for worldwide background radiation, if we use the nuclear weapon tests and their effect on it as basis, we get a value up to between 4,5 to 5 millisieverts per year. 20 millisieverts per year is a value that is seen as still safe. So technically you could survive the nuclear armagedon, while the titans will kill everyone.

    Which doesn't really make sense, wouldn't the 3 branches already have been there considering the girls were already alive? It implies that everyone has to have eaten a piece of Titan in order to become a part of the paths, when the story very much establishes that it's just connected to their blood. Also that's not getting into the whole plot hole of if all "Subjects of Ymir" are descendants of Ymir, that also means all Subjects of Ymir are also descendants of King Fritz, which would mean _all_ of them would have royal blood in them. Don't get me wrong, I love this show, but certain things shouldn't be too looked into. xD

    @@w00tyd00dobviously all subjects of ymir descended from ymir - Sina rose Maria... Before them there were no eldians.. But over time it's a matter of bloodline purity or it's has something to do with how the nine titans evolved it could be that Maria Sina rose or their direct descendant changed the anatamoy of subjects of ymir to change a specific bloodline to royalty nd more like orientals or Ackermann.. The evolution of titans especially 9 titans still needs to be explored but we can predict this that's how it went over time also they mixed the ymir bloodline with other races over the period of 2000 years...

    I find it very interesting that what happened to Founder Ymir was exactly the same thing that happened to Christa's Ymir. Her own people turned on her to save their own asses and BOTH were turned into Titans because of it. Except Founder Ymir became the First and most powerful. While Christa's Ymir became a Pure titan and then the Jaw Titan by accidentally eating Marcel.

    0:29 you have no idea yet how right you are! 1:30 in a way, Eren choosing not to show his dad all that was mercy. If he knew the exact day the wall would come down, what would happen to Carla, maybe he wouldn't have gone through with it, despite Eren's interference. 2:50 "It was at this moment Zeke knew...he fucked up" 3:42 the moment Eren died - the Eren that we used to know. 4:28 Zeke still has no idea just how wrong he is about everything or how persuasive Eren can be. 5:25 this episode is titled "From You, 2000 Years Ago" and the 1st episode of season 1 was called "To You, In 2000 Years" 6:04 good catch, Magy, this is Ymir's backstory, how she became the "originator" of the Titan powers, the abuse she went through at the hands of king Fritz, the horrible life she lived and the disrespect she suffered even after death. 9:20 worst case of Stockholm Syndrome ever seen in anime 12:43 now here comes the truly scary part - Ymir's eyes finally opened and we can see them clearly. Throughout the whole flashback they were not visible at all, a visual aid to help us understand just how deprieved of freewill she was. 13:00 the shitshow begins! 14:45 Poor Armin, how quickly he took back those words. 15:24 well done Magy, you figured it out! 17:02 you always said there should be a solution to all of this - now you got it. 19:12 a couple of episodes ago, when Zeke revealed his euthanization plan, did you think you would come to say his plan was "mild", compared to what Eren had in mind? 19:32 sadly, there was no better plan. 21:48 that's one of the best things - you see the backstory of a character from one pov and then as the anime progresses, little things are revealed and that pov changes constantly, you get more context. Thank you for the amazing discussion and the incredible reaction, you did a fantastic job ❤

    There is a solution, by keep passing the founder and royal blood Titan, so the world won't attack them considering the threat of rumbling. Sure it's messed up but not as messed up as killing billions of people. Remember the friends episode? Uri reiss said this to kenny: "You believe in violence, don't you? It is the unavoidable truth of this world. But... the two of us were on an unstoppable path of mutual destruction. What was it that turned us into friends? Was it violence?" Kenny: "Hah... Beats me. All I can say is that if ya hadn't grabbed me with that huge arm of yours I would've been stuffin' your head full of shit. Before we ever became 'friends,' that is." Uri: "Yes... It is un unavoidable truth... But I still believe in what happened that day. That miracle." The royal family feared the Ackermans and persecuted them, Kenny hated the royal family for that. But even with all his power, why did Uri reiss spared Kenny's life and even bowed to him and apologized? Whatever the reason, That act is what made those two enemies become friends. Willy tybur revealed to the whole world that karl Fritz is the one who saved the world, and the reason the world is still living is because of the karl Fritz vow renouncing war. And now founder was stolen by eren. A threat to humanity. Willy declared war but what if, just like uri, Even with all the Power of Titans, the people of paradis made their intentions clear that they just want peace? The whole plan of willy tybur would've failed. But any chance of that miracle happening again is gone the moment eren launched his attack on liberio.

    Eren is manipuating, but is manipulated too. This power, like you said, mean there is only one futur possible. He is using his power to make sure his futur will happen. It mean Eren know the end of everything. He is representing determinism, against the free will with Armin and Hange's group. And because he know this futur, this futur will happen no matter what. It's a paradoxe. the futur wrote the past, creating for Eren in the past, a destiny he can't change. But in the same time, he created this destiny. Basically, Eren is fighting against himself. Eren from the futur who is the fate, and Eren in the past, who want to change things. But in some paradoxal way, the Eren in the past will become the Eren in the futur. It's an eternal time loop.

Also I wont be able to understand how people could not think of AoT as the best show (movie/series/anime - everything) EVER made, even so they have seen the whole anime :o I really would love it to write stories which touch people that much like Isayama, but I cant imagine HOW you can create something like that from your mind! AoT is literally perfect, a true masterpiece of all times. Thats the way Isayama to me is a god, unable to reach ever in my imagination! But as we all should now: There are so many possibilities of human beings, also so many which are never going to be born, that probably some day there is someone who can reach Isayama. On the other side: After the time of human being there has to be someone who was the best of something ever :)

    What's crazy about this is that in this world without moral the rest of world is quite inoncent since the begining. They got caught between Eldians and Marleyans shit. If we do the math, Eldians messed up the world for almost 2000 years, then it stopped and for 100 years and Paradis was peaceful. But not rest of the world because Marley started to play with Titan Juice and Eldians to conquer the world, they were already doing it by the Historia's Ymir was born, which was 60 years ago. So for 2000 years the rest of world was at piece for 30 to 40 years under the rule of Marley and Eldia.

    Except that in THIS case the future IS clear because it happened. The future is always changing, yes, BUT the things Eren sees WILL happen because they DID happen. He's not technically "seeing the future" just the memories of the Attack Titans AFTER him. So technically attack titan #10 can show attack titan #2 all it's memories. This keeps the attack titan free of Ymir's dominance. She can't control it like all the others. And because it's a part of her original titan form, that allowed Eren to reach the girl Ymir herself to break free of her enslaved mind to Eldian Royalty.

    For some reason I have little sympathy for Ymir. She wanted to be treated that way.. she had every chance to live on her own will but she always preferred to bow down. Even in her redemption she was always depending on people. That's a no leader. She was someone who got a power she didn't deserve. If it was someone like eren becoming the first founding titan will definitely attempt to change what have been done to him and make it a better place for even a little bit. If you ask me She was a bad leader for 2k years

    It’s a bitter truth but Eren is almost justified in not only what he did before but also by triggering The Rumbling. Think of Eren like natural disasters caused by global warming. Humanity set all these horrible things in motion and yet humanity in the show and in real life doesn’t do anything to stop them. As much as I wish Eren would’ve gone through with Armin’s plan and only go after the military, that would only pause the war, and fuel the hatred of Eldians even more. Also, I wish they had seen the dub because Bryce Papenbrook gives one of the best performances of his life in this episode alone. His speech to Ymir to free her was powerful but his speech to ALL the Eldians about starting The Rumbling was GODLIKE! I love the original Japanese actors speech, but Bryce adds this weight, power and sense of inevitability that makes my heart drop every time I hear him finish his speech.

    I don't now if I agree about that statement there Magy; the one about "the second child is truly spoiled." I don't for one second believe Eren was spoiled. He just wasn't pulled into Grisha's battles like Zeke was. Instead of putting the hopes of an entire Race on Eren's shoulders, Grisha just let Eren be a kid. That doesn't mean Eren was "spoiled." Also eren kind of went through Hell to get where he is at this moment.

  • @Alexszander

    @Alexszander

    Magy compared the two, Zeke and Eren, so from that point of view, Eren was "spoiled" precisely because Grisha didn't burden him like he did with Zeke.

    @@Alexszander Perhaps. But I still don't think "spoiled" is accurate. Just because Zeke was "burdened" that doesn't automatically default to Eren being spoiled.

    @@patrickcromwell7554 Might not have been the best word for it but it's irrelevant, we understood what she meant. Zeke wasn't just burdened, Zeke was fucked 7 ways to Sunday by Grisha's zealotry, Grisha's parents pulling him in the opposite direction, the indoctrination and bootcamp training from the military and to top it all off Ksaver also went full psycho on him, pushing him to turn on his parents. So yea, when you take everything into consideration, "spoiled" is as good a word as any.

  • @patrickcromwell7554

    @patrickcromwell7554

    @@Alexszander Do you understand what you just did? By agreeing with it being the wrong word, it can't be irrelevant. It is relevant BECAUSE it's the wrong word. so no spoiled is still wrong no matter WHAT context you use. Eren DID NOT have an easy life. Grisha didn't burden him. That's all. There's NOTHING spoiled about that. He got yelled at and chastised like any other kid. You are taking ONE incident and calling Eren spoiled because Grisha learned his lesson the first time. It's not about Eren being spoiled, but about Grisha learning what it means to actually be a FATHER rather than an insurgent leader. There's nothing about that that equates to Eren being Spolied. He wasn't given special privileges or treatment by his parents. Hell, his own mother even chastised him for being LAZY and letting Mikasa do all the work getting firewood. That's not a spoiled child. Grisha even FORCED the Attack Titan on him; we didn't KNOW at the time that Eren had orchestrated it, but still at the time, it was done TO Eren. I really don't see how anyone can call Eren spoiled after he went through literal Hell to get to being in control. Spoiled people have NEVER done anything for themselves. They never do. They're spoiled.

    @@patrickcromwell7554 Read what I said, again, if you have to. I didn't agree with you, I said it might not have been the best word. Afterwards, I said in this specific context, given how Grisha treated both his children, the word is more than fine to use and I agree with Magy. If you don't, that's your prerogative. In my first comment I pointed out what Magy meant by using the word "spoiled", in what context she did so.

They all ask why Ymir returned and served the King even after she became a titan; they all ask why she didn't just crush him; they all say they would have destroyed the whole city. But they don't consider the mind of a slave. That they CAN'T just start taking control of their own lives.

    There is absolutely no justifying what Eren does. King Fritz of Eldia started the titan war, Marley retaliated in kind but Eldia started - and now Eren is after ALL of humanity, not just Marley. Entire nations of innocent people still be murdered. Zeke's plan was a peaceful end for the Eldian race. No kids for them, yes, but compared to genocide? A small price to pay
