Frisby Lakes Part six- Carp Fishing

Спорт

It was around July 2013 when a fella named Chris Angell got in touch with me. He worked for Shimano at the time and was kind enough to send me some items of tackle, many of which I still use today.
Fast forward to 2016 and Chris is now managing Frisby lakes in Leicestershire ( / frisbylakescarp .
Since we had kept in touch i felt it was a good opportunity to not only go and see this beneficiary of mine but also to fish his lake!
So now it's August 2017, four years on and i have started to visit Chris's fishery on a regular weekly basis. To showcase his beautiful lake, to fish it! and of course to return the favour from 2013.

    Really nice consistency you’ve found with the baits Steve. Usually just swell up and turn to mush 😂 it’s good you talk about the negatives, I was broke last year before the season even started, I was fishing Eric’s Willows at the wrong time of the year and just struggled so much I didn’t fish until about 2 months ago. So far I’ve been doing well on a local runs water keeping the confidence high, and I’ll be back on there for one of those 50’s 👍😎

    Do you sell the vanilla bollies ? Are they freezer baits or shelf life

  • @TheCarpCatcher

    @TheCarpCatcher

    6 жыл бұрын

    All shelf life, no point in freezer as once they are in the water they activate and are exactly the same. Vanilla Spice is being field tested at the moment so you'll need to become a patron and pledge $2 (£1.50) per month but this will give you 15% off bait being field tested and 10% off all other bait including clothing. So if you order 5kg as a patron you save over £10 thecarpcatcher.co.uk/bait-field-testing.php It'll be available to the public by the end of april once testing is finished Cheers for the interest

    Shame the stock isn't quite the stamp at Frisby, would be a little known gem for the Midlands if there were some bigger fish in there.

    No doubt it's a stunning place mate, with some lovely fish. It's a shame really that unless there are 30's and 40's to go at people just aren't so interested these days.

    it can seem that way and it makes for a quiet water, i do get the odd email/pm asking how many 30/40s are in such and such a water. They burn out soon enough Angling is an artform as much as anything else imo

    Paracetamol won't help get rid of a cold as it's just a light pain killer, good for most headaches and general pain relief but has no effect on diseases/viruses. Ibuprofen as you mentioned is for reducing swelling, excellent for pain relief where muscle and bone injuries are the source of discomfort and can help with blocked sinuses but won't relieve most headaches as they are typically caused by the brain dehydrating and shrinking rather than swelling (unlikely outside of extreme trauma). There isn't a lot that can be done to relieve a cold as all the obvious symptoms such as sneezing and coughing are as a result of your immune system overreacting, the only real solution is to keep hydrated and wait for it to pass. For this reason and contrary to popular belief dosing on things that boost your immune system when feeling a bit snotty will not help alleviate the symptoms but will in fact make them worse.

    Interesting information but i have to say it does work with me and it's advice that's been passed on to me. As you can see the next morning i was right as? www.southampton.ac.uk/news/2013/11/04-ibuprofen-not-as-good-at-treating-colds-and-sore-throats.page

    Don't get me wrong, the paracetamol will definitely help make the symptoms more bearable but it won't cure it. My comment wasn't meant as a slight on your actions as I'd do exactly the same, you'd just be surprised how many people think they're basically the same thing. I lived with a pharmacist for a few years and he was forever complaining about people complaining that they needed prescription pain killers because the ibuprofen wasn't doing anything for their headaches or the paracetamol wasn't helping with their back pain.
