Two ferrets squabble while they hunt rabbits underground.
I used a trail camera to see how well used this warren was. It appeared to have some activity so I set up the nets and waited for the fog to lift.
I was hoping Brook would bond better with the other ferrets if she worked beside them. I tried to keep the two ferrets somewhat separate by entering them in different ends of the warrens. Athena is still sporting her summer coat, whereas Brook has bulked up in weight and grown out her new winter coat already.

Why I hunt rabbits - These rabbits are collected for food, for my ferrets and people. This is a free range meat, that has lived a free life. These rabbits will be controlled even without me. By taking them myself, the meat is used. Ferreting is an environmentally friendly method of rabbit control.

For KZread policy audit - The video is edited in a self explanatory way for all languages to understand. People under the age of 18 also practise ferreting and I aim to set a mature example. Contact between the animals is brief and is not the focus of the video. Rabbit dispatches are carried out off camera. No blood or gore is present.

My father said he used to hunt rabbits like that in Ireland he said they used to have a "yellow" ferret and let him lose in rabbit holes he said you could hear the battle

Snakes will usually be hibernating in the winter but I’m sure they encounter other things

I had three ferrets they got on well we also used them to keep rodents and rabbits out of our land

Another brilliant vid. It must exciting to see what underground footage you have captured. But then the editing must take you a while too. I need to try the underground filming in one of my future vids. Brill

Thanks. The editing is very time consuming because of the amount of cameras I’m using. If I film for an hour, multiplied by ten cameras, it can be hard to find that brief little hole hop...

@@ZeusPolecat Do you just ferret the one warren and do you carry on without the cameras. It seems you are happy with a couple for the pot. With me it's like I got to make a day of it. I don't ferret local because I would only catch a couple.

I go out without the cameras to do big warrens. On the filming days it's just the one or two smaller sets as there's lots of fiddling with cameras that fills the day. There isn't big numbers local to me either.

@@ZeusPolecat Would you be interested in a day on our permission this season? We had 37 rabbits in 4 hours. 25 of those were from a fraction of a wooded banking. I was too busy chasing rabbits I couldn't film.

Joseph would be proud?... He would never use nets or traps. Just his minks, the dogs and their training. I think he would be disappointing.

Not especially, the collars are very tight and the ferret would give a good wriggle to get itself free. The biggest worry is for the ferret to end up in a dead end and kill the rabbit that's blocking its way out.

Put salmon oil on each ferret. This will encourage licking and it should help with the bonding

Наверное их кормят кроликами иногда дают убитых а потом перед охотай не кормят их бот и они гонятся за ними

I think people have raised mink with ferrets, I’ve never done it. I’m not sure how it would go. Ferrets can get along with dogs fine if they are carefully introduced.

He can't exactly sell them as pets, they're wild rabbits. On top of that, they're known as pests in the local area so not many would want them.
