Friedman BE-OD Overdrive Pedal Demo
Музыка
The Friedman BE-OD overdrive pedal puts the intense tone of their BE100 amplifier onto your pedalboard. This is a wide-ranging, British-flavored overdrive that can be pushed well into high gain territory. The controls from the legendary amp are all here: Volume, Gain, Tight, Presence, Bass, and Treble knobs allow you to dial in everything from smooth breakup to sustaining metal tones. If you want the sonic flexibility of Friedman's BE100 guitar amplifier in a compact pedal, Sweetwater guitarists recommend the Friedman BE-OD overdrive pedal.

"Let's hear the sound with the pedal bypassed. Ok." *strums E chord... immediately switches guitars*

*Immediately switches to C#* just love this guy
One of the finest overdrive pedals I've ever owned in almost forty years of playing guitar. It really makes my Bassbreaker sound like a Friedman.
The amount of gain in this pedal is crazy!! Got one last night and still trying to dial it in.. was able to get some nice AIC tones quickly

The trim pot in the back turn the gain down to o'clock

That´s the guy behind Grim Reaper... total respect!
@4:33 Here I am with an Epiphone Les Paul loaded with very low output pickups - let's check out the BE Overdrive with the gain "All the way down"... wow, that's the overdrive all the way down??? Damn.
Alice In Chains in a box
I have this and a dirty Shirley , the dirty Shirley is a little more flexible but both are awesome pedals.
A mid control instead of the presence control would be nice...still on my wish list tho
Killer stuff , anyone that doubt's Nick Bowcutts playing need's to listen to the Grim Reaper disc's and Nick wrote most of the band's material . Killer hot rod Marshall sound to me !
Great Video
Still no. 1 in my pedalboard despite having also a MXR EVH, REVV G3, BOGNER Exstasy and a few others ...
This is one of the few overdrive pedals I’d consider getting. Not that all the other ones are sh*t or anything but I just use the overdrive on my Marshall JVM HJS. BUT DAYUM!!!! This thing sounds sick! Totally gonna invest into one
Does it sound like he isn't playing in time to anyone else?
Cool tones but what I really liked most was the riffs!
Best review ever.
I am sold
Maybe one day after I get a comfy enough guitar I'll get one of these. A guy can dream.
I would love one of these. Would go great as a standalone distortion pedal!

Nice looking guitar
What's its intensity?
Dimebag on a strat 👏
What song is that he plays at the start
does anyone know exactly what the difference is in this box and what the signature Cantrell amp does? i know the obvious fact that no pedal will change a crappy little amp into a $2,000 boutique but I am talking about the distortion levels. What is this pedal missing that you get with the signature Cantrell amp as far as gain, boost and that kind of stuff?

Hi, Jack! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe. In really broad strokes; amps are touch sensitive, pedals and modelers less so. There's also a spacial interaction between an amp and cabinet that doesn't happen in the same way with a pedal into an amp. There are minor differences in the tone stack, as well. From a sound perspective they can sound similar enough in a mix. It's more about the players experience. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! I love mine. It works better on 18v if you want less compression

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try when I get home from work.
With very....low output pick ups. Lol I love this guy. It plays Hell on him to keep a straight face Sometimes. Long Live Grim Reaper!
Ah yes “ABCD” my favorite song by them is “Interstate to Heaven”
For it to turn on do you need the plug at the top of the pedal

Hi, Malik. The plug at the top is the power supply, and is required to run this pedal. It does not have a 9v battery compartment. Thanks! Lindsey Becker, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1674, Lindsey_Becker@sweetwater.com
is that a Jackson Adrian Smith? left handed?
I had one I miss it I had the evh 5150 Overdrive I think the Friedman smokes it
This is a hard pedal to beat. I use it constantly always on 18v.
Wasn't it AB/YZ? I thought it was.....
This demo doesn’t do this pedal justice.
Have both Dirty and OB ... Treble is Trouble !
Definetly a distortion pedal
Thought you’re gonna get a right handed guitar instead of lefty’s ....
Why in the hell did you play the pedal bypassed only to change guitars before you played the pedal again??? That defeated the purpose of the bypassed signal all together!
In my opinion, this pedal connected directly into the input sounds horrible. With none of my amplifiers (Bugera, Egnater, Blackstar, Hughes & Kettner, etc.) I could not produce a good sound. In my opinion, this pedal is much better suited as a preamp looped in the effects loop. Only in this way it sounds really good.

Of course you are using it incorrectly. It simulates an Amp the friedman be100, so even if you add the pedal to the clean chanel of your amp it would color and change completely the tone, in a very unlikely way. the correct way is to use a cab simulator pedal and use this pedal as an real amp not as an overdrive pedal. And you will get the tone of an Be100 friedman tube amp.
:)
I can only hear this guys dry mouth the entire time...
Sounds thin. No bottom end
Take a good guitar
Lefty AND uses the classical way of holding guitar. Not something you see every day.
Can we got some demoers that aren't just playing 40 y/o grandpa rock?

This guy's great! Not only that, but he's a fellow lefty player like myself(which is a dying breed). Also, there's nothing wrong with 40 y/o old rock. Most new rock music out there today can't hold a candle to the old music in any way shape or form.
worst demo i’ve ever seen
