My record is 2.5 hours in the north woods of minnesnowta at -27F with only shorts, boots, a hat and mittens, and my backpack. That was a good hike. Felt amazing.

Meanwhile I do catch cold in 2.5 hours in city at 60F when wearing shorts and t-shirt. How did you build up resistance like that?

@@Kenny0z follow the Wim Hof method. The breathing is essential before hand or you will die. I have to admit when I started I only did the breathing and cold showers then went right into the hikes. I have many videos on my Instagram and KZread channels.

I done a 25 minute ice bath before. I tried to go to 30 minutes but I think if I stayed in for that extra 5 minutes I would've died. It took almost an hour of standing in a hot shower afterwards to recover from it 😅

In my tropical country even just eating ice cream in an air conditioned room, about 25 degrees, would be enough to get me shivering. I'm still amazed that people can stand that cold. I have low tolerance to cold it could trigger panic attack.

You can get used to it. I'm from Central Europe. I recently listened to an interview with a doctor who is originally from Africa and he considered temperatures below 15 degrees to be "really cold". He said he flew here (Czech republic) in January. It was -5 degrees here then. He knew it was cold here, so he bought a sweatshirt for the first time in his life. He got off the plane the next moment he thought he was going to die. But eventually he got used to it. It's funny how perspective can change. I live in an environment where it's always over 20 degrees, even at night, I'd probably have very high electric bills because of the nonstop running air conditioning.

Yes we can adapt to warmth or cold. Luke in spring we all enjoy the warmth of 17c and take out of our jackets. But if the temperature drops to 17c in August we get our winter jackets already lol

I think I was born depressed but I truly died 22 years ago when my soulmate died in a car accident a year after we built our own home. I was then in a 12 yr abusive relationship and escaped with my 2 youngest boys 8 years ago and barely live every day, I want to because I want to be there for my 3 boys and grandson I try but I am also in lot of physical pain. My youngest is 18 and autistic, I'm 50, I want to have energy and be revived again and live for him, he is all I have but I can't force something as hard as I have tried to get myself out of this funk, I have lived like a prisoner in my own home its a much longer story oh but how I dream of being alive for them, I have gotten much closer to God in the last few years but I guess its the physical pain, I had neck surgery and supposed to have back surgery which I don't think will help, I just want this not for me but for my children and grandson. My oldest son has a family and my 21 year old fell in love and moved away 2 years ago, it's just me and my youngest and he deserves so much more but he is happy. I have so much potential but..... the depression is and has been debilitating.

It's your will alone that allows you all that. I survived many certain deaths myself because I have an ambition. People die because they have nothing to live for. Only extraordinary dreams can save you from certain death. I certainly didn't come from the best place in the world. But I'm still alive. It's will power. You've gotta want something, follow your dream. Don't stop. Many have said I'm good for nothing I remember. Today I surpassed all scientists in the world.

People put their hands to their faces a lot more in winter (blowing air into cupped hands etc) this is the reason colds and flu are more prominent in winter, also much less vitamin D available in winter.

I live in Florida. I bought a deep freeze for the summers, and in winter I can go in my cold pool or the freezer. There are all kinds of ways to set up your own ice bath. I got a deep freeze at Best Buy for $500 and interest free if I paid it off in a year. So it’s doable on almost any budget. The ice bath is great for chemo after effects, chemo hangover …even though it is hard to get in, ‘don’t think, get in’ it diminishes the terrible hangover side effects from the poison.
