I think a great idea for a video are “dark” themed names or names that have a controversial meaning such as Envy, Delilah and Lilith - and hey maybe even Cruella since the new film is coming.

A couple of years ago I read a book with a character called Antigone known as Tiggy and I kind of wish I had named my teenage daughter that. The only thing I don’t like is whether in a formal setting would people think it is pronounced Ante-gone instead of an-tig-on-ee

I'm 32 and my middle name is Trudie... My namesake being my dad's nan, Gertrude, who died just before I was born. I've always loved my first name, Sophie, and taken pride in the fact it means 'wisdom', but surprisingly never thought to find out the meaning of Trudie before... Universal strength... I love it. Also, my brother calls me Gertie, which I LOVE

My favorites from the list are Marnie and Larkin. I have loved Marnie since discovering an old crime novel called Marnie that was made into a stage play and a movie. I first heard Larkin in the stage musical Once Upon a Mattress. Lady Larkin was played by Zooey Deschanel in the most recent made-for-tv version. I have always been fascinated with the spelling of her name, although I much prefer the spelling, Zoe. Scout is a nickname only for me, but it is cute.

Arden and Calloway have just gone right onto my name list, i LOVE them!! thankyou SJ x

A lot of these names are more nicknames to me. Sandy is usually the nickname for Alexander but I suppose could be that for Sandra & Alexandra too.

Aaah I'm so late to the video this week. 😭 When I was in preschool there was actually a girl in my class named Tiger! Only time I've ever encountered this one out in the real world. Antigone called Tiggy is so darling I'm in love! I think I'm with you and lean toward Nixie over Pixie (but bo Joplin for me definitely falls squarely in the "rockstar surname names" camp which aren't my favorite- but Joplin I like more than most. I'd say I don't mind Hendrix or Joplin, bit really dislike Lennon, Bowie, Jagger, etc. I ADORE Sybil, Lourdes, and Bronte 💖 While I don't care for Sandy personally I do like Sandra and Cassandra and it definitely falls in line with names like Nancy and Peggy that seem to be getting some love again. Trudy seems to fall squarely in that vibe too. I know it's super polarized but I like Gertrude more than Trudy (though Giertrue is my favorite variation and totally lends itself to True as a nickname!) Arden is one of those names that bucks my usual rules and I really quite like it and enjoy seeing it getting some use! The queen of free spirited is Stevie Nicks so that definitely feels right for this list. I love Pandora. I think people forget that she also released hope into the world.

Also already listened to the podcast episode yesterday! :) so glad season 2 is back

My grandmother was Sybil. She hated her name and told us all not to use it. She loved Sarah and I had decided on Sarah as a middle name in her honour… because she thought it was beautiful. i love so many of these names. scout is so cute, i like it but not sure if i’d ever use it myself. tiggy is adorable 😭 but i think you could use it just as a nickname rather than a full name. like i’m ‘dolly’ by my dad even though it has nothing to do with my name. but i’m sure people wear it well as a full name too. i stand by the fact that if you’re just gonna name your kid by their nickname and aren’t in love with a full version, just pick the nickname but maybe some of these are just too nicknamey for me personally. lourdes i loveeee, maybe too cool for me just like all the others 😂. i bet a cool girl group in a movie or novel would have these names. tiggy, lourdes, marnie and scout! i also love sandy and calloway for boys! calloway was my all time fav name to use for a boy and then a girl at my school named her dog calloway 😭.. it’s okay i was only young and wasnt and still won’t have kids for a while still but i was gutted

My favorites are Sybil, Sandy, and Trudy because all of them seem more "normal" iykwim. I prefer Calla to Calloway. I tend to like names that are more traditional. I have a Daisy and a Charlotte on the way. I'm in The US, there aren't as many Charlotte's here and it's the only name everyone in my family agrees on. Her middle name is going to be Cassandra, after my late sister in law. Everyone called her Sandy.

I LOVE Scout cause I was in Girl Scouts, but I think I would make it a middle name. A big contender for a future girl (way in the future lol) is Cassandra Scout :) I also like Joplin, Truly, Arden, Stevie, and Larkin, and my mom's Sandra, goes by Sandy. :)

Love the name Lourdes, I'm from North England & I'm Catholic so pronounce it as Lou-erds. Not sure if that's how all Catholics pronounce it but it's how I've always heard it! Really want this as a middle name but haven't convinced my husband yet!

I've always loved the name Teegan with the nickname Tiggy

I do love Pandora (n.n.Pan), it was on our list twice. We went with Diana for our daughter instead. Arden is lovely!

You have included several small towns in Texas to your lists. Bronte and Odessa are examples. Love them, but couldn't use because they are too close to home haha. Another great town that would make a cool name is... Ballinger. What do you think? Love your videos!

Absolutely love Nixie! (Was a nickname growing up with the last name Nixon so it would be a great way to get a family name in.) Love the nickname Callie too! I think Ari would work for Arden, and could be an option for those who love Ari but dont want to do Ariana or Aria because they are too popular

It's funny because I never really thought of Callie as being a nickname but people ask me fairly often of its short for anything. My mom once tried to convince me it was short for Calypso lol

@@callieforniaking I think it stands well on its own! I honestly didnt realize it was a nickname until one of the characters on greys anatomy. But i think hers was short for Calliope?

Dana, Arie, Ari, or even Arya would work as nicknames for Arden ❤️

My middle name is scout but I was very nearly a scout as it was my dads choice but my mum didn’t like it and named me Eden-India Scout instead. I always hated my name growing up but it definitely grew on me as I got older 🥰

I know a family who named their kids Reagan (girl), Monroe (girl), and Pierce (boy). All US president names! I think it's so cute! I also know a girl named Liberty! Another free-spirited name!
