I’m not sure if I shared this or not, but since you asked for birth announcements, I had a son in February and we named him Isaac George. His middle name is to honor my brother George that died 6 years ago this month. We love our little Isaac George so so much!!!🩵 Now we have Elliana, Celina, and Isaac 🤍🤍🤍

Yasmin is popular amongst Middle Eastern communities. I've also seen Jasmine and Jasmina. I believe it is also popular in hispanic cominities. Makes sense for the US as we have larger populations of both cultures.

Billie here - it's really strange to see a name that I was teased about in grade school become popular. 😅 I was named after my dad (William- went by Billy).
Birdie is my fav from the list! I’ve loved those “vintage” ie names for years.
Emryn is absolutely gorgeous, definitely my favorite from this list :) Great video SJ :)
I have a friend with a daughter named Selah and they pronounce it SAY-luh. It was on my list a long time ago and I would have pronounced it the same. Most Americans I know would also say SAY-luh. I’m not sure if it’s an American pronunciation or personal preference, but I think its beautiful ☺️

Maybe find an American name podcast.
Itzel is a name of Mexican or Mayan origins. It comes from the Maya Goddess of the Moon, fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, and medicine. I know many Mexican Americans including myself who live in the US with native and indigenous heritage who are using names from our culture for our little ones. That's probably why there is a rise in more Indigenous names. It's a powerful Goddess name. It's pronounced eet-sel
American here, I have a friend with a four year old named Selah (Say-lah). She’s the youngest of four and her parents chose the name because of its meaning “pause,” as in their final child 😊
Seh-lah is actually the correct hebrew pronunciation. And technically the translation is 'forever more'.
Kaylee has been in the top 500 since 1986 in the US. It is currently at #180 after peaking at #26 in 2006. It's pronounced the same as Kaeli, so it won't sound fresh in the US.

Thank you for giving the background of the name. I thought it was a made up name. I always learn something watching your videos.
I’m with you on Selah, I’d pronounce it sel-lah. I also think that pronunciation is the prettiest but they’re all great! I also went to school with an Itzel, and her name was a conversation starter with teachers. Edit: I definitely think Kaeli is rising over here because Kaylee has been popular for so long and we like to spell popular names uniquely to make them less popular for some reason. 😂
My niece is named Selah, and it’s pronounced Say-lah. It’s also the name of a 90s Christian band that pronounced it the same way, and that’s the only pronunciation I’ve ever heard when people read it in the Bible. But maybe in other countries it’s pronounced differently. It would be interesting to look up the actual Hebrew pronunciation.

In Ireland Kaeli would be more commonly spelt Kayleigh.. it’s a very popular name here. An Irish/Scottish Céilí is a social gathering where Trad music is played and people dance traditional céilí dances 🙃🙃
❤❤❤ my daughter born in 2021 is named Vada, pronounced just how you said it. We call her DARTH Vada when she’s in a bad mood🤣
That was a wild list ! I personally would steer clear of names like Selah & Azariah with their pronouciation problems. I have heard Azariah, for a boy, with the emphasis on the " i ". Kaeli reminded me of Michaela, a form of Michael.
I'm from the US and only heard it pronounced "Say-luh" here
I have a Veda, but I spelled it Vada which I think is the more common/modern spelling. It's at least the spelling they used in the 90's movie My Girl! I always listen for her name on your lists 😊
I have a friend with a baby Selah and they pronounce it the same way you did!

My 4 year old is Birdie 🕊️
My favorites are Azariah, Emryn and Kaeli…great names!
I speak to a lot of adults named Kaylee and Kayley in the U.S., over the phone with my job, so Kaeli is just a different way to spell it. There are a lot of Hayleys and Haileys, so Kaeli is just a different version of a popular name in the U.S. I like Emryn, Avanie and Azari from the list. I would say Selah is pronounced Say-la.
Love Birdie as a nickname for Bernadette 🕊️
My niece is 10 and her name is Selah! Felt so rare at the time but it has been neat seeing it pop up more! We pronounce it “Say-lah”.
I've only heard Selah as "say-lah". I live in Texas in the Bible Belt, so I've heard it quite a few times. Tatum, Noemi, Veda, and Xiomara, are all on my list. I know a baby just born Billie. Im so excited to hear Itzel. I knew a girl with the name and loved it and added it to my list probably about 5 years ago and now ive seen it trending!
Hi there SJ, this is a super weird one and I don’t know if you’ve ever had a request like this before but we are a Rare Breeds Farm in Cholderton, Wiltshire just 8 miles also from Stonehenge. We have recently had one of our gorgeous mares give birth to an adorable little dark brown/black foal, a rare breed Eriskay colt (young boy horse). He was born on the 8th of May 2024, and still has no name as we are all feeling very undecided! Can you help us? The Eriskay breed is of Scottish decent and heritage, from the Isle of Eriskay, and over the years we have had several fouls born here and all have kept a very similar theme linking each to Stonehenge. For example we had Equinox, Solstice, Summer, Twilight, to name a few, so each would have Cholderton as its prefix: “Cholderton Summer” etc. I love the name Sarsen, like the stones of Stonehenge but it just doesn’t seem to go well with the prefix Cholderton Sarsen? Also, we’ve had a few people mentioned that it reminds them of the vinegar! At the moment we are at a dead end pretty please oh please can you help us? We would love you to visit us and meet him and we also have a vineyard on site too if that helps encourage you to come!

Aracely starts with an "r" sound like you're pronouncing the letter R. R-ah-celee. Itzel starts with the sound "eat" not "it", so it's pronounced eat-cell. Aitana is a modern name that comes from a famous Spanish poem written by Rafael Alberti as he flew out if Spain to go into exile following the Spanish Civil War. He chose Mount Aitana because he said it was the last part of Spain he could see as his plane left. He then named his daughter Aitana and it has slowly gained in popularity with two poets being named that and a famous actress.

I love Lainey! My daughter is Leighton and I call her Leini as a nickname and pronounce it the same as Lainey. I also think Helaina with the nickname Lainey would be super cute! 😍
I love love Araceli, Xiomara, Lainey, and Aitana , lol, I seem to have a trend towards liking Latina names! Cielo Lainey would be so dreamy, I think. Oh yes, I am also loving Veda and Scottie, but I do prefer Stevie for a girl to Scottie. I Really love Scout even more than either Stevie or Scottie. Avanie is absolutely lush! Avanie Veda would also be glorious! Well done, take a bow!
Never heard of Cielo and Cici would be such a cute nickname It means bird from Greek mythology which links to heavenly sky like the full name meaning
My daughter's name is Cloe (Spanish & Italian spelling of Chloe pronounced Clo-eh) and I've had a couple people read it as Cleo. I do love Cleo and the English pronunciation of Chloe but I really love the softness of Cloe pronounced as clo-eh even though most people call her clo-ee anyway.

I love Kumari, so pretty. Love, love Xiomara. Went to school (ages ago) with a lovely girl named Xiomara.
We had our first baby recently and named her Phoenix Aurora ♡
My husband and I can't seem to agree on a boy name. We are pretty confident in our girl name Arielle Anna (naming after family that passed away recently). We aren't pregnant yet but are hoping to soon. I am jewish and really want a unique but classic hebrew name. I would love any suggestions and am excited for the boys list next week.
Our birth announcement is Roxanna (no middle name) 🤭 we made it up as a variation of Roxanne since we wanted a long form of Anna. We feel like it’ll be hard to find sibling names that match vibe but we love it!
I'm in the midwestern US and I know 2 Selah's and one pronounces it Say-lah, and one is Sell-ah. Both born and raised here!
We chose Selah as our girl choice for our first baby. We are bilingual so we probably would have said “say-luh” in English and “sell-uh” in Spanish. We did lose the chance to use it since someone in the family has chosen Layla and we think it’s too similar. We did have our little Jericho which we adore!
Chava or Chawa is thought to be Eve’s original name which would be pronounced HAVA or HAWA
I like Rivka , Cleo, Selah, Noemi, Billie, Chana, Andi, Lainey, Cielo, Avanie, Emryn . my little cousin(a boy) is called Andy. Andi for a girl is adorable; it sounds similar to indie.
We have a Selah “say-lah.” I don’t mind the pronunciation dilemma as I like all the pronunciations and it’s easily corrected. Say-lah is how we’ve heard it pronounced so didn’t think twice about it. We know a Selah pronounced “see-lah” and people seem to appreciate the ease of differentiating the girls names by their pronunciation. I have a cousin Xiomara, pronounced as an “s”
