I would like to enter. This would be a fun long term family project with my daughters. I love how you want people to do something nice for someone. Just the other day I had to help an lady get her car out of a parking spot, because a semi parked behind her giving her little space while people kept walking by her you could see the stress in her face. It feels good to help people.

It won’t hurt trying, am I right, my dad and I have been looking for something to build and bond over for quite some time, this would be absolutely perfect. As far as acts of kindness, I do not consider myself a saint, I’m not really the kind of guy that looks for recognition in the things I do but kindness and happiness are things I try and help provide for the people around me every chance I get, I also help take care of my 80 year old veteran neighbor by maintaining his house/yard. Thank you for the opportunity you have given to all of us who have entered and have a blessed day! Good luck to all!

As it says in the Book when referring to giving and charity to not let your right hand know what your left hand is doing. Your sentiment is exactly spot on in that you do it for the good will and not the recognition. That's the way good deeds were intended. It would be a great father son project, and I really wish my own father was close enough to do it with him. We did so many boat projects when I was a kid, so I guess that's where I get my bug from. Best of luck in the contest and check out my build if you haven't. It's been a blast.

I'm glad you're back at it! One of my dreams would be to build my own boat to share with my kids and family. Currently, I'm sharing as much time as a can with my community's youth athletic programs. With 3 boys and a girl there are lots of sports programs to attend and teach. I appreciate the chance to win one of these plans.

Throwing my name in the hat for the boat plans. Its livestock show and rodeo season here in Texas so I've been helping the kiddos with their FFA project animals. Nearly a year worth of work and they deserve all the attention this time of year. I'm taking on some of the grunt work so they can just enjoy the moment.

That’s awesome. The FFA stuff was really important to my wife when she was a kid, and it’s a genre that should be supported much greater than it is for certain. I bet there will be some times while you are around that will present of ways to pay it forward, and that’s awesome. What part of Texas and what are you showing, or what is your part in the shows? Best of luck in the contest.

Frs 18 was about to start a build on an 18 flat bottom, without plans. This would be better. Its hard even for a set of plans to blow my own horn, but I try to be helpful everyday to anyone who may need it, I just put a water heater in for an elderly lady no charge, and fix some plumbing for another lady but Its something I do whenever it comes up and they get my name somehow, I never charge elderly who are on a limited budget, been doing this for several years. Thanks for what you are doing, im sure its going to make someone happy and start a load of memories for them. Peace

I have friends that have a sport fisher for marlin fishing, a hybrid for trout and near shore fishing, and I wanted a boat that was good in the shallow waters of the marsh that I can also teach my son and daughter to use so they have something to enjoy in their life. Initially, the community gym was confined to a mere 8x4 bedroom space. Collaborating with the town council, local residents, and expanding the board from 3 to 12 members enabled us to increase the gym's size to over 5,000 sq ft. This growth has transformed the gym into a self-sustaining entity, funded by membership fees that not only cover operational expenses but also allow us to contribute back to the community. Annually, we support three events we founded: the annual Halloween decorating contest, the Christmas light contest, and the community passport program. The gym now pays rent to the town for $6,000.00 per year, and these funds are designated for future projects like swimming pool renovations and the establishment of a community splash park. Love the discussion, and you will probably tower me with intimate recall of biblical history and theological context, but I’ve read the Bible quite thoroughly as well and been a student of it for years. Christ own directing in the great commission is of acts of discipleship. Christ also states that what we have “done” for the least of men, we have “done” for Christ. Those are acts as well. I think Paul was saying that no man should boast of his acts to the point where in some way we have earned our grace, for it is truly freely given. But, faith in a vacuum is not the aura of the New Testament. Acts such as confronting a brother who has strayed. Taking care of the orphaned and windowed. We can debate semantics, but do you not believe that doing good works, a la loving your neighbor, is not in the nature of the believer? Not arguing mind you, love this type of discussion as you surely have lots to teach me and others. Ironically, a big step in my faith journey was reading biblical discussion on a fishing forum probably a decade ago, so I’m here for it.
