    open tunings are fantastic for pulling yourself out of a creative slump. Haven't tried open C looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing Ola.

    Do it. I've been working in open C and its 7string variant for a couple years and... for me it was a one way ticket. If you won't like it you can just change back but if it clicks for you... man is it awesome.

    I don t think Devin uses “tradicional” open c, I believe it is C-G-C-G-C-G. Anyways, i agree on experimenting with tunings a way of finding new places’

    I play a bunch of different turnings between 6 to 8 strings but open C is definitely a favourite to break things up. The fact I love Deb probably helps though 😁

    Devin Townsend music sounds like something from a different dimension, everything he done on studio albums is consistent and original and the live performances are mindblowingly awesome. Great human being, great musician, almost scary singer and here in Italy is more underrated than anything...we do not deserve Him

    There are different versions of the outsourced Stormbender. the one Ola tried is the 900€ model while the model with signature fishman Devin Townsend Humbuckers is 1300€

    I bought City by Strapping Young Lad, not really knowing what it was about. It was the most abrasive record I’d ever heard at that point and needed to know more about Devin Townsend. Thanks Ola!

    I've got put the Devin Fishmans in my Kiesel Vanquish and they are easily my favorite active pickups I have ever had in a guitar. They literally work for any genre I wanna play. The real made in Germany Stormbender is a dream guitar of mine

    I've been waiting for this ! Congrats on you for having the balls to get out of your comfort zone and have fun around in open C, I feel like this is a concept many seasoned guitarists are afraid to explore (other tunings too obviously) but that's just another layer of fun to have !

    Open C changed my playing and made me a better player. Got me out of a big creative slump and I still always have at least 1 guitar tuned to it.

    Same…. I use standard D a lot, but I bet I go to open C almost as much these days. It really gets you out of the box

    Open C is a really fun tuning. It's easier to navigate than standard. CGCGCE and you're in business!

    Interesting to hear a demo of the Framus pickups, I went with the D-series that offered the Fishman pickups since if i'm gonna get a Devin guitar why not have the version that at least has his signature pickups!

    I have the Team Built model Stormbender (Germany). I’ve had it since they were offered. It’s a really really well made guitar. Plays like butter weighs a fuck ton though. Makes a Les Paul seem like a basswood in comparison.

    It is very usefull for Ola to use different tunings! This is a very rare review video where Ola is not playing usual riffs that I hear on almost every over review, and it sounded new and refreshing!

    One of the things I love about my mark Holcomb signature is that prs didn’t cheap out on the pickups and included his Seymour Duncan alpha and omegas.

    Hey! I just got the D-Series Artist Line Stormbender with Fishman Fluence signature pickups. Absolutely beautiful guitar, plays and sounds fantastic in the open C tuning.     Gotta love that open tuning! It's literally all I play nowadays, except I take it a step further and eliminate the major 3rd interval on the top two strings, going with AEAEAE 😎

    Townsend is great! I love his tone! This is so heavy and evil! The shape may be a little bit stranger, but if you are into more modern stuff it's probably ok!

    Ola! Devin (while in Strapping) used a Mesa Triple Rectifier, boosted with a distortion pedal.. But, yes. He always used an EMG 81 and 81-7.

    I have been using the Framus Diablo Pro guitar for over 10 years. My guitar was made in Germany and it has passive seymour duncan pickups...
