It's a recent tutorial! ...and so updated to the latest version of Fuondry! (version 11... when I'm writing). Thank you! P.S. I will definitely start following you.

    @@BaileywikiHi Zephyr, I wanted to ask for the same. I understand installing and activating modules, and putting my own contents into shared modules (Thanks, @VTTom!), but i am still confused about purchased content, especially the various Warhammer modules. Once I activate them, I seem to have imported all the contents. Can I now shove them off into a folder, to pick out the stuff that I actually play at the moment? Do I delete the extra stuff until I need it, then import it again? What about actors I want to use outside of their own adventure? Move them to my NPC folder or copy then there? How do I make sure that contents I edit (such as setting the entries linked to pins on the map to "Limited", so they can see the pin) survives the next update of the module? I _want_ to update, as there is other contents besides the adventures there... And even knowing what permissions to set where took me various "oh, now I can see _all_ handouts" to guess halfway right, and started anew once we moved to Foundry V11 and it's new journal structure. Not to mention that I now have an "Überstreik" and a "Starter Set" Version of the same maps and try to figure out which ones I linked to from my landing page... I am quite confused about best practices here, and your clear, friendly guidance would be much appreciated. On this occasion: THANK YOU for all you do for us here - you _rock!_ ❤🥰

    SO well explained, and dropped just in time for my "Oh shit I have to DM a Pathfinder game and this software is so complicated" panic attack, thank you. (Also, more Pathfinder please, it solves so many of the problems we were having with D&D 5th edition, I am absolutely amazed by how much more realistic and logical it feels without feeling "gritty" and how much less work Paizo expects me to do as a GM versus WOtC, who seems to think that DMs have infinite time, player patience, and resources for balancing their broken game.)

    Thankfully I've managed to stall a bit by reminding them that they *also* don't how Pathfinder is played and because I'm new to the system too they shouldn't be trying to "pick it up as we go along" because I absolutely WILL make up something on the spot when I only have a hazy recollection of the rules and we'll have the same problem as our 5e game where we've been playing for 6 years and everyone is still confused by grappling because I misremembered the rules the first time someone attempted a grapple and somehow that bad grappling accidental homebrew was indelibly etched in everyone's mind and no amount of rules reminders or examples has been able to correct it. But if I remember to, I'll check back in. @@Baileywiki

    I hope you can find the time to answer this comment. I am currently frankensteining a game set in a lovecraftian steampunk setting named Sunless sea. I am aa sucker for wargaming and with chat Gpt, i have somewhat figured out a way to turn theatre of the mind combat into a basic but workable system for normal combat based on 1 yard squares instead of 5 feet, ships move at a minimum of 50 yards per move and naval combat turns lasts one minute. I will be mashing Raiders of Rlyehs naval system into this with a combat system that needs specific angles for turning (like a maximum 35 degree turn in one round without the need for special action based maneuvers, since steam ships are slow.) Im wondering if i can use protractor like tools and, or a gridless battlemap that uses measuring lines for movement and so on? The system is based primarily on CoC 7e and RoR: From tideless seas, among setting supplements. If i worded the question in a dumb way i can clarify further! I wanted to use roll20 but it seems that its very limited and basic for my difficult needs. I am sleep deprived and i may have missed something in your video and for that i apologize. I also need to be able to add new skills to a pulp CoC character sheet, skills from two other books, and thankfully roll20 lets me do this, but im not sure if foundry manages this?

    I don't really understand what you are able to do wiht ONE license at 50 dollar. Can I create multiple : "One-Shot" / " Campaign" / "Games" that my player are able to join ? Or do I have to buy a license for each game that I create ?

  • @Baileywiki

    @Baileywiki

    You can have unlimited games and works created until you want to be able to run concurrent games. So if you want to have players access two or more games at once, you need another license. Only one world can be actively played at once. So, most people only need one license.

    @@Baileywiki May I ask to be sure (before I buy) : If I create 2 One-shots "Tower of despair" & "A long road" Can I invite the same group of 4 players to play those 2 one-shots ? Or I need 2 licenses ?

  • @Baileywiki

    @Baileywiki

    7 ай бұрын

    The same group can play those two one shots. Further, that same group can play a thousand one shots with a single license. And 10 other groups could play a thousand other one shots. They just can't be logged in and play TWO different one-shots at the same time. Like, of you had another DM running one of them, and you both tried to log in at 8pm on Saturday. Then, and only then, would you need another Foundry license. But if DM1 wanted to run a game on Fridays at 8pm, and DM2 wanted Saturdays at 8pm, then you still can do that with one license.
