I have myself a DAW Tascam but would like the motor to work underneath my Fostex Xr7. I've owned an x 28 also. Such a simplified workstation but without getting to copy into a loop without a lot of patience. Tascam have the loops seperate left and right with two stereo tracks. It makes the bussing really not cool. I'd buy a Reel to reel for a good price...

I have a fostex R8 and was wondering if you could give me advice. Channel 7 sporadically gives off a white noise sound. Started out of nowhere. Any idea what the problem could be?

hi had to pull the bar units out of a e16 x2 one deck was very bad and in the good deck i put in a new cover plate black one i have 2 b16 decks that are ok and i have a plug in bar unit for the e16 alot of the decks out there in a bad way tascam 38 are tanks i have 6 all jazzed in some way one plays record at 2 speed i jazzed the eq and things like that i lost my otari 5050 1/2 bad caps and alot of smoke i was told to late about the caps ace with the tascam 38 decks why i have alot word got around

What did you put on capstan flywheel on 1:30 ?

hi have one as well deck is working 100% but the head are bad to heavy wear not a great buy if any if the L E D UNIT'S are bad some one got to find away of making new ones some how

Good morning. I have a Fostex model 80 8trk tape recorder whose RECTIFIER PCB 8251040 100 board is out of service. Can you tell me where and how to get a replacement please? Do you have any? I found some of the same references on ebay but the components are not all the same as those on mine. Are there specific cards for Europe, UK, Usa, Canada etc adapted to the voltage of the countries or, can I order those found on ebay? (no voltage details) I live in France. hi like to ad something when the heads go it bad news i picked up 2 e16 as parts the bar L E D's i saved and put them in my b16 and some in the m80 decks only had to buy 2 in that were working had 1 E16 that's needs work the heads on the e16 are ok it's alotto when buying used decks my b16's purr like my cat if you going to keep audio use a betacam sp liner audio to back up audio i have tape from 1984 still ok now new sealed tapes betacam not the later betacam sp computer drives go bad over time

Yeah this is June 5th again the wheels actually go the opposite so that they it can't move anywhere that's in play and in give me an idea what's wrong please thank you

Hey, I was wondering if you could give me any tips on my Fostex. I just bought an r80 but it was from France so it had the french power plug. I just bought a Europe to American voltage adapter that goes up to 240v. The Fostex will turn on and the lights flash but it won't spin or record. Any idea what I should do next?

HI France use the same voltage as us. there may be an issue with the machine..

Mine plays fine then after say 10 min slows down. Then does it in less time every playback unless you turn it off for awhile...is this the belt?

Yes that will be the first place to look...if not then the speed control board, is the actual tape ok?

Hey man I have a E-16 one of these. When I turn power on the right top reel starts spinning, and the controllers don’t work unless I take apart the back and unplug a few things. Any tips? I’m too far away from the UK to send my machine to you.

Sounds like a Logic board fault.. has it been wet or damp? if you cant get it to me, then you will need to send it to local engineer im afraid. sorry cant be more help but difficult to diagnose without testing it....
