this is an incredible restoration ... i usually only address just what needs doing than strip everything back to bare chassis. I look fwd to seeing part 3 ... thanks for filming and sharing

Hi, amazing restoration project. I really hope you get to part three after your roof has been fixed. I just acquired a GX-4000D that looks cosmetically fine, transport works but no sound. I hope to pick up a thing or two of the next part. I had a 4000DS mkII in 1987 and a now I got this one. Hope to get it working again.

Hi - this is fascinating stuff, thanks. I have one of these in about the same condition, this video has shown me that a restoration is way beyond my capabilities, which I'm very happy to know. How much would you charge for a similar job?

Interesting and exciting. I have Akai 4000D Pro in a better shape, but it needs some lubing and a start-stop piece replacement. Won't you look in the electronic part in the next video?
