just goes to show the difference in how strong the Ottoman Empire was between the two games' time periods EU4 gives you the Ottomans at their peak when they conquered most of the Mediterranean, while Vic3 gives you the Ottoman Empire in its twilight years, where its state of decline had it ridiculed as the Sick Man of Europe

Please remember that ww2 started when everybody declared on germany for taking back ww1 lost territory and in ww1 germany only joined because of alliance responsibilities. Germany is lot more peaceful than the british empire but germans are bad at plotting, thats why they always get the blame.

43:10 I'm not sure if that is a bug but the feature has been termed a yo-yo sway. Previously as long as you are not fighting in another war and were not siding with another participant in another war, you can sway the the undesirable side and then get a better sway with the desired side. You tend to get a lot of free expansion from revolutions.

43:43 tbh I don't think the concept of flip-flopping sides to leverage better deals is a bug necessarily, it seems pretty intentional as a way to leverage your power to coerce smaller states into giving you better deals, by siding with the opposing side and then saying "hey they're going to become my puppet and you can't win against me, how about you at least make sure you're the one ruling the new regime." There is however a weird sometimes glitch with it though, I don't remember the specifics but in my Raj run I ended up flip flopping twice to get both parties as my puppet and it kind of borked the game into just giving me two tiny puppets by negating the war somehow. That at least is probably a bug though I don't remember the specifics too well. Tl;dr, supporting the side you don't want to win to twist the arm of the side you do want to win is a feature, not a bug(imo at least, maybe they do end up removing it eventually)

I'm starting a prussian run. 1. For principles I'm rushing construction one for the +20% construction efficiency company that also boosts throughput steel, glass, and tools. 2. For tech I'm going to stay in society until i get at least steel construction pm + pan nationalism + another company. 3. I'm also going to day 1 transfer the east indies to me (easy to occupy netherlands)

Looking very much like the extra time was put to good use! I'm quite excited for Sphere of Influence!

how do you give you're subject a state? (in a diplomatic play or else) I cant figure out to do so...

managed to form super germany at like 1853-ish, combination of bankroll + improve relations with austria (i was lucky enough that austria allowed me to join their krakow civil war so it bumped up the relation to genial) but the amount of radicals i have is kicking my butt, around 21M right now at 1860s is too much lmao

Love the longer/full series videos. Will be interesting to see how the game changes in this patch affects the ability to form super germany. The old strategy of liberating Hungary/Czechs in the leadership war, forcing them down to minor power, and improving relations so they support you as a unification candidate might not be viable any more.

Is the dlc part of the first expansion pass, so included in the "deluxe" edition? Can't remember

since the german unification relies solely on if a nation has ethnic german as it's base culture...could you liberate the baltic governates and unify with them, making an even greater greater germany? someone needs to "persuade" russia to let the germans unify

I'd actually like to see a game where the Austrian player lets Prussia form Germany. (doesn't have to give up land). I play a lot of multiplayer and I want to learn Austria better. I can't seem to find any good multiplayer lets plays where the chatter isn't head ache inducing. So a single player game of Austria where Germany forms would be cool to see.

I think we need to talk about a bigger tech tree if you are able to be on the last techs by 1900 already xD

New update ruined my first and last run. I was playing as the Ottomans. All my buildings and land I owned got bugged out. Australia had land in Europe. Denmark owned the entirety of Italy. Should've known the new update would ruin my run.

A little tip: its actually helpful to keep the religeous intrest group powerful because that is the only group that supports public healthcare(if you don't have charity hospitals)

A butt load is an actual unit of measure. A butt is an olde Englishe unit for 126 gallons, a super barrel, a butt load would be something that would fill that barrel.

Dunno if its a bug or not but in my prussia game I made supergermany and then formed HRE with only papal state as puppet and because of primary Italian culture of HRE (I think so) I managed to unify "italy" as HRE and got entire Italian peninsula for free using standard Italian mechanics

Construction and the company it gives you is also pretty good for power bloc mandate

Wallachia, moldavia, Serbia are quite litteraly broken, everyone of my ottoman empire games they maximise their industry to a level that the single biggest producer of some specific resources or products are them. I remember seeing like 800 engines production in moldavia when the 2nd biggest production in the ottoman market is one of my random provinces with 100 150 or something.

I feel similar. The base game has come a long way but the expansion pass didn't deliver huge value. But if that expansion pass bought the content in free patches then it turned out fine. If this new dlc buys the content I see and a bug fix, and balance patches I will be happy where the game is at. I feel like the art budget has been a little bloated while game mechanics were not reaching full potential.
