I wanted to see word war 1. There must be ww1 at the end of vic3 campaigns. Super fun to watch

Destroyers were created as a respond to the threat of torpedo boats attacks on large vessels. They were bigger than torpedo boats, had larger caliber guns and in general they were designed to fight torpedo boats. Hense the original class name "torpedo boats destroyer" So it's actually strange that torpedo boats are an upgrade to destroyers in game, it really should be the other way around.

@@AlexOlsenpang oh I looked something up and I actually think this situation is not that simple. While the game lets you "upgrade" your fleet from TBs to destroyers, mechanically speaking it actually looks more like a choice rather than an upgrade. I say this because if we look at the stats of both of those, they are actually on the same level. Destroyers have 30 Offense and 40 Defense while having a bonus to convoy defense and TBs have 40 Offense and 30 Defense while having a bonus to convoy raiding, so they just have different roles which all makes sense in the context of those vessels roles in history.

Yeah, Analytical Philosophy needs to be earlier in the tech tree. It's not needed by the time you get to it

In fact, "Destroyer" is short for the original designation of "Torpedo Boat Destroyer", which is what they were developed in response to, so yeah, it is very bizarre that they come earlier and are worse than torpedo boats.

Hey Ludi. You are right about destroyers. They are called destroyers because they were made to destroy torpedo boats. So the torpedo boats came first.

You likely built way too many government buildings, taxing more people doesnt matter if theyre poor, since the cost of paper and government wages outweighs it. Also, make sure you have the goods needed for your construction sectors and your army before building more, and never go into debt if you're unrecognised, since it adds a huge loan cost multiplier.

You should make a power block called the Greater East Asian co-prosperity sphere perchance

Ludi I am playing as Super Germany and am working on HRE around 1893 I have around 300 mil GDP and around 2.4k construction… When should I privatize and nationalize buildings? I currently only have oil and gold mines nationalized.

Ludi help me! Whenever I play as Japan, my Bureaucracy slowly starts ticking down and goes beyond -1000. Why is this happening? What can I do to stop this?

Taxing requires bureaucracy (and capacity) scaling with the population; it could be your population increasing fast enough to show the number ticking down.

its new with 1.7 SOI, switch your buildings to allow privatization. Nationally owned buildings cost bureaucracy now at -1 per level

Enjoyed the video, keep up the good work. I went off and tried my own Japan run and after a couple resets I am not a fan of the AI aggression, the UK kept forcing building rights on me which each time it did smashed my economy beyond what my simple "pretty colors" brain can comprehend.

What in game GUI do you use?

how do i get motivated to play, i've been trying to play the game and have fun but i get bored instantly after an hour or two of doing mostly nothing, i'm just sitting there waiting for construction and research and laws to finish, so i can then see if or not the economy collapses and i can then try to figure out why, but it just takes so long i feel like the first 5 hours of playing wny match is 90% nothing

Start with a powerful nation, check the market price of basic resources like wood and iron, or get some vassals right off the bat that can crutch your economy with their resources. As Brazil I subjugated Bolivia and Peru. They became the 12th and 13th most powerful nations and my economy thrived. Transvaal and Beijing are also cheat codes to getting a massive economy rolling. I usually subjugate transvaal

Typically you build construction then the things construction uses then more construction. And repeat.

Build up the foundational resources first and then build up things that use those resources and then when you run out of the resources build up more foundational resources

Nah you’re right a destroyer would be an upgrade over a torpedo bot, torpedo boats actually came first before proper larger, destroyers were developed. A destroyer is much more powerful than a torpedo boat

Destroyers and torpedoboats are better at different things, the destroyers defend convojs and topedoes raid them.
