FORGOTTEN Plymouth Satellite! Will It RUN and DRIVE 250 Miles Home?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” -John 6:40
I saw this 1970 Plymouth Satellite 4 door for sale on marketplace. It was advertised as running and driving, but we quickly figured out it was in need of quite a bit more. Can we make it run and drive 250 miles home? Stick around to the end of the video to find out!

You need to do an episode on rebuilding that slant six. Clifford performance makes everything you’d need. Put that six in a small barracuda or even a small ford.

The Leaning Tower of (very little) Power! That 4 door has upwards of 7 good parts. Glass, a couple of doors, maybe front fenders... You could make 3 or 4 cars with that one!

Back in those days, even the 4 door cars looked good. This one is beyond restoring due to the cost versus value, but it's still a coll car.

Saying a lot about how tough those 225 engines were. My cousin was broke needed a car and bought an old dart 4 door from a neighbor. Drove it to work for 9 years, and was still running at 155,000 miles. never need more than plugs points and a ballast resistor.

I can personally recommend the black pepper trick for a slow leak in a radiator. Just sprinkle a bit in and the grains find the holes and clog it up, it has worked for me for multiple cars

Heck yeah, the LAPD had some badass '68-'70 Belvedere sedans that were like 4 door RoadRunners. This car done like one of those slick top with the black and white livery would be slick. I like an A,B or C body Mopar sedan anymore if you manage to find a clean one it's something special.

Milky oil can sometimes be the crankcase breather on the valve cover, or the PCV valve, I would check those first and do a compression check before concluding a definite head gasket. Great find Dylan, can't wait to see the progress on this one. It will be an excellent donor. Thank you for sharing.

Maaan, this adventure seriously tugged at my heartstrings... nearly to the point of tears. My very first car was a 4-door '70 Belvedere, tan outside, blue interior. Looked just like that one, only zero rust (ex LAPD cruiser). Mine never lacked for power, had the 318 Interceptor. One impromptu stoplight dragrace, that car blew the doors off a '76 Z28 with a 350. Sadly, that "dodo" of an engine kept me from being able to Smog it, and the State of Commiefornia eventually impounded it... "STOLE" it from me, far as I'm concerned.🤨 I'll miss that car til my dying day. 😔

Seeing as it has the same rims as the General Lee, it definitely deserves a second chance at life with a V-8 engine whether it’s a 318, 360, 383, or 440. It definitely looks like it should have a V-8 instead of the slant six that it has. I found it kind of funny and comical that the rotted floor and trunk floor of the car were replaced with wood. I’m also relieved that you got home in one piece. I’m really looking forward to the project that this car becomes.

Cool road trip :) Being from Denmark, I have a hard time getting the 2-door/4-door thing. To me, any old American car would make a great project! Obviously, when you have a dozen cars and limited time, you'd prioritize the coolest ones, but I'd be just as happy tinkering on a 4-door or wagon! I grew up with small 1-2 liter Japanese and European cars (not that I did much fixing), and we have very strict laws about the condition of body, brakes, electrics ect. Basically, you'd get fined out of your breeches for doing what you did here :) But I enjoy seeing these old machines being brought back, and if I come into money (unlikely!), I'd come over there and try my hand at a revival. -One can dream... Keep doing what you're doing, I'll keep watching!

...wooden floor..."basically it's a truck now..." lol that's funny 😅. Probably hold more than most modern trucks lol. I may have told you before but my dad had a 70 Plymouth Sport Satellite with a 383 4 bbl , console shift. Probably around '73 or '74...Same color but his had a brown vinyl roof I believe. It was a fast powerful beautiful car. I really miss it. Thanks for the memories.
