Not really anything to do with this but what will be done with the Maverick Engine? It might be hard to restore but it's well worth it

Idk it looks cool the way it is. Do some interior work maybe

Definitely would like to see it without all the age crust on it and cleaned up. I know with a lot of mil trucks you can just spray out the interior too since there isn't any carpet. Might help evict your spider buddies. I almost think it needs a light rack and a spotlight since it's your working truck for the shop.

yep with all the improvements going on with the truck it does deserve a wash for sure

I still say restore it & put a big hemi in it and use it to haul cars home.
People don't realize how absolutely cool the design of trucks like this, of this era, really were.

The late '50s Dodge C series cab was used into the 1970s. In my opinion of the quad highlight era of the late '50s, the '58 to '60 "Power Giant" is super cool looking. '57 was one year.

Hi
Yes !! " Big John " deserves anything you can do to help extend the life of this beautiful piece of history.
wow the truck started up like new after the carb rebuild
I love how old vehicles give their owners "love bites". Our old LDV van does the same to us, every time we fix something on her she bites us in gratitude! It's so sweet! 😁👍 🤕✨🚐♥️
i would love to see a full rebuild 🤍🤍
I feel that pain when you rose up and hit your head on the mirror! Do that myself too much! 😂
I feel like you and Big J are gradually coming to understand one another
I've hit my head enough times on the bolt on the side mirrors of my '72 D500 that they are now rubber coated, haha
I think big john is slowly coming around!! Great vid dylan..
Love the 57 styling! I learned to haul grain on a 56 Dodge 3 ton with a 331 hemi. I was 12 and hauling to the yard to unload. The mufflers had rotted off the factory dual exhaust years earlier and did that hemi roar. I was totally in my glory! So this truck strikes a chord in my very soul. Thank you Dylan.
Love the video style. Also love the content. Big Dodge fan, Thanks.
Big John kicks ass. Bringin' him back from the dead. The idle sounds really nice after solving the tank and carb problems. I would love to see John undergo a total frame off restoration with a hot paint job and cherried out wheels. If I had John I would build a nice oak stake bed for him. Dylan, you are so much fun to watch with these old rigs. I would certainly enjoy being your helper for a day....I could learn so much. Am waiting for the next Big John video !Just a side note Dylan....Something that works well for me in regard to cleaning bulb sockets are plumbers copper fitting cleaning brushes that come in several diameters. I usually am using the 1/2 and 3/4 brushes. You can even cut the brush from the handle and mount it in your drill motor and that works slick.
Dylan, you could have a future in acting. That skit at the intro was surprisingly well executed!!!

You an amazing surgeon. Great job giving that truck a second life.
For some reason the beginning reminds me of Clarke Kent talking to Superman lol

Dylan you truly are a genius for figuring out shorted out wires on an old rusty truck. It takes a really hard intelligent person with electrical intuition to figure out how everything hooks up and where it’s all routed to.
I literally just finished watching the previous episode and this one got uploaded just now! This is so exciting!
Step by step, little by little you corrected all the issues with the electrical and got it working perfectly. Great job Dylan!
the opening kinda reminded me of that weird schizophrenia drug commercial (that did not run for long) that made you wonder if that was one person or two...
15:50 Haha!! Anyone who has spent anytime at all around old vehicles has heard that maniacal laugh!!
The dash lights work too! I,m glad you didn,t quit on it! Enjoy your videos Dylan.
Dylan is getting mighty comfortable with that video editing software. I like it, it adds some character.
The more I see it, the more I want it!! I really enjoy troubleshooting wiring on older equipment. You did a great job!!
Love it. I have to take my 2008 Subaru half apart just to change the lightbulb. God forbid there is a wiring problem. Cheers from Maine and send us some spring!
The internal dialogue bits and editing have been top tier, Dylan!
You just went thru what I go thru every day as a School Bus Mechanic. God Bless the Power Probe!
Great vid! 1957...When vehicles were nice and simple to work on. Hope your head is OK. I felt that one.
This may be my favorite episode out of all of your projects. Please keep the videos coming.
That truck is awesome. The sound of that old starter is just music to my ears. What a great piece of history you have rescued from a certain death! Thanks for sharing this with all of us!
You're positivity and general demeanor speak volumes. Keep up the great content!
Hoo boy this truck has been kicking your behind from here to Sunday. Ever grateful that you're sticking with it though. She'll be a diamond in the rough when she's done.
Hi Dylan, this truck is my favorite out of all the projects that you have done I hope you continue to restore this truck back to original as possible. Although it never hurts to add some things to make it safer.I think it would be cool if you could find a old barn or a building that had good weather word to replace the bed maybe there’s somebody out there that would donate.
GTA edits were pretty cool. Actually you must have done a ton of editing on this one.. Good job man.. 👍 I can't believe you shut the door so nicely after crushing your skull on the mirror.. I need a better patience wrench I guess!

My nephew absolutely loves your videos! I must admit that it’s the calming voice you have he has Asperger‘s and always wants to watch you ! keep up the good work 👍
It is always awesome to watch you bring forth automotive life from something that seems to be dead. So cool! Happy Easter!
D McCool, I appreciate your creative intro on this episode of "Big John" and some other such directing of your commentary to the audience as if we're there in the seat or standing by maybe even working the camera.
I feel your pain. I fought with my 68 sport satellite all weekend. New torsion bars and strut rods.
i think big John deserves tons more love....that barn find clear coat paint job, clean up the rims and some new rubber
I'm glad you're taking the time to fix Big John up. Simple little things like lights that function like they should can be very satisfying. As to the gas tank, I know the MEK substitute should clean up the varnish, but you might save yourself some future headaches by dropping the tank and agitating it with more of the MEK substitute to ensure you get as much sediment out as possible. You did a fine job rebuilding the carburetor. No need to go through it a second time for leftover sediment. Looking forward to the Farmall content. Before he passed, my neighbor used to restore Farmall tractors in the shed beside his house.
The GTA "IDIOT" parts are way too funny. Cant stop laughing...
Absolutely my favorite video series going right now!!!! Keep it up
You preach the word of the day being motivation, but you definitely aren't motivating me to get out of bed when there's Big John uploads to watch.
I have the exact same truck, a D500, in sky (baby) blue. Bot mine from a farmer, in bad shape, but the best thing was that is was one of the few equiped from the factory with a hemi. Use it for my construction company, a great workhorse. I've rebuilt the motor, all hydraulics-mine is a dump, and functions 100%. Needs a paint job...Great trucks.
So far, this series has been FREAKIN AWESOME !!!
im happy you are still fixing it
Glad that your new video is here to make me happier. My dad just wrecked the Ford Explorer that was his daily and my favorite truck because it wasn’t rusty. It’s totaled. Suspension ripped off of the driver front and then you know what it also got hit on the driver rear. I hate black ice. It killed my favorite truck.
I must say for all the times I have watch your videos, this was the most ingenious of them all.
Love how bright the hood flashers are looks great with all the work done sounds good and strong @Dylan McCool
love the channel, i just love seeing all of those old cars come back to life when you work on them also, i like to listen in on what parts there are so that i may also restore my own car
Another great video, always enjoy watching your projects 👍 thanks for sharing and as always "Howdy from Texas "!!
Duuude! I'm digging the new "format" of your videos. First patience, now determination. I don't know why but it speaks to every project I take on
One of my favorite things about these videos is watching them with the captions on, and every time a car is idling, the caption says [music]. LOL
Love the production quality of this series! Great video Dylan
Loving the Spinal tap references 😁🤣
Dude, your opening though. 🤣 Love the style! Big John is one awesome truck. Glad to watch you preserve this but if history.
Big john is a piece of american history plz don't stop building.
I really enjoy your new layout of conversing with yourself! I've talked to myself a lot while restoring vehicles! Makes me really laugh seeing you do it!
Big john is the best. Thanks for the awesome videos
9:02 like we say in Costa Rica "QUE BUEN PICHAZO SE PEGO!!" Man from here I can feel the pain
The beginning is literally me on a sunday... terrifyingly well demonstrated. Thats why I most of the time work in the dark, because it took me all day to muster enough motivation.
Dylan, you have excellent patience.👍 You truly inspire me to work on projects! 🛠
Same here, brother...my sinuses do NOT like this spike in pollen. Glad you found and fixed those problems, truck sounds great!
Seeing this truck being brought back to life (even though it nearly cost you yours) has been oddly satisfying. Another great video. After being a mechanic for 24 plus years I have patience and motivation are key. Also when dealing with MEK like I have for so many years, gloves are also key. Just hope the gas tank on my trans am doesn’t look like that.
That truck is going to look so AWESOME SAUCE pulling the Farmall around , I do have to say my great grandfather had an M and a A and two cubs and I still have a soft spot for cubs and A's , maybe cause I'm short !
AWESOME TRUCK AND GREAT VIDEO! You're doing a great job saving the past...
Love the truck, great editing very entertaining! Cheering along you brother!
Great little video on getting things done ✔. Have a great evening
9:02 That looked like it hurt!!!
Dylan thank you for all of your videos I've learned a lot from watching you and from watching you I successfully rewired my new headlights I had to install on my 2013 chevy impala I couldn't have done it without watching you and your work and love for cars truly your awesome man and look forward to more of your videos thanks Eli
Love the video's creativity!!! Great Job!!!
I'd also like to say I appreciate the sound editing...this was laugh out loud funny. 👍
Dylan, I enjoy your videos. You have a knack for problem solving, and you get the desired results! Good job on the carb rebuild, fuel system clean-out, and wiring repairs! Young mechanics (or do-it-yourselfers) would do well to watch your vids to learn how to approach and solve problems... starting with being patient! Thanks for posting! (And I enjoy the "talking with myself" segments!)
We love how you're fixing up Big John, you really are doing a great job 👍❤️
You are quickly becoming my favorite auto KZreadr!
Cool video, the sound effects when you took out the spider made me laugh 😆
OUCH!!!!!! I felt that from my couch. Love this series as well as your new format. Looking forward to their entire series as well as the tractors!
Looking forward to the next episode. Love the old beast! Enjoyed your intro. Allow me to share my second oldest favorite saying; "It's OK to talk to yourself and it's OK to answer yourself. When you loose arguments with yourself, that's when you're in trouble!"
Great video Dylan 🙂👍 Glad you could get some more work done on the ole truck 🔧 Be safe!
Big Johns looking like he’s ready to go back to work and show new trucks what being a farm trucks about.
Always fun to watch Dylan's slow decent into madness.
Thanks for the videos, glad to see a fellow brother in Christ enjoy these things. Its good informative and clean (rare) entertainment.
Great work on the truck and great video😀
You forgot to check to see whether the brake lights are working, you know when you press the brake pedal. Cool truck and you are doing an awesome job with him! It makes me happy to see old classic trucks back on the road!
Big John is amazing! It's nice to see an old guy that was abandoned, probably fated to rust till disappearing, coming back to good shape, little by little. Keep posting, bro! Your videos are very entertaining.
Excellent video content greetings from Eastern Ontario 🇨🇦.
Your new video style is a big plus in my opinion . . . . keep up the good work . . . Rog
At the begining of the vid, I wondered, why is he working on the lights? At the end of the Vid I said "how cool!" Those little jobs are what keeps a project fun and going. Nice Job Dylan!
The truck runs well just like me as I'm a year younger & of the same month the truck was registered, great job Dylan.
Great vid. Way to stick with it. Keep going! Love this truck!👍
yes I hope you clean it up and maybe spruce the interior but what a find and where you have brought him so far is awesome
I like how you're showing the usual range of emotions and decisions someone goes through while working on a project car.
I love this truck can't wait to see more progress on Big John !
Omg can't tell you how many times I have stood up and nearly knocked myself out like you did on that mirror. I'm a carpenter who does a lot of remodeling work, in tight spaces, with lots of overhead obstacles, I felt that when you did it, actually recoiled when you did it, like nails on a chalk board!! And yet we continue........
The truck sounds great Dylan, great job.
I'm loving this new editing style. Keep it up.
This series has been awesome!
Happy Easter Dylan.
Hey Dylan I just wanted to wish you and your whole family a happy Easter
