Can u explain why some Volvo cars just get "acceptable" for updated side test?

The Volvo XC40 got Acceptable in this updated side test. The main issue is the amount of structural intrusion. The XC40 is build on the CMA platform, which seems to have more problems with structural intrusion in all tests - even ones that achieved “Good.” The SPA architecture that the 60 and 90 series Volvos ride on does much better and is worth the upgrade if you value safety.
