I offroad with the Bronco Sport badlands. It works great and has a much better suspension then a ford Focus. It really just appears people want to hate on the Bronco sport yet I just don't know why. It ranked one of the highest in poor weather, it has ridiculous fuel economy and given the right trim level can off-road decently.

Return trip, same route was in a 2.4 liter 9-spd Compass... it downshifted 1 or 2 gears for every upgrade and got about 27 mpg. I have made the same trip several times in my own Honda Pilot V6 6-spd and averaged 27 mpg. I'll keep the Honda.

If you're going to review a vehicle, make sure the parts and pieces you review actually reflect the comments you are making. Just one point of note from this video. The Bronco Sport has 2 different engines. The one in your video has the 2.0 L. It has been to date, virtually bulletproof in the sport. The engine you spend so much time denigrating from sources is clearly the 1.5 L from the issues you mention. It may also be on the same unibody as the Escape, but it is not the same. Every manufacturer shares parts among models to keep costs down. You make it sound like it's a defective practice to do so. There is virtually nothing from the Escape in the Bronco Sport other than the unibody, certainly not it's upgraded suspension and electronic drive system. If you expect people to trust your videos as a source of reputable information, then put reputable information out.

More detail on the Bronco Sport. The BS platform is built on an Escape platform however it is more robust than an off-the-shelf Escape. More like an Escape on steroids without getting into specifics. The Fuel Injector issue which Ford addressed with a TSB drain hose fix was shady to say the least. Rear brake noise is another common issue however Ford did issue a recall with new caliper guide pins and boots which seemed to eleviate the noise but not completely. The OEM pads tend to generate a "moaning" noise in high humidity environments when backing up first thing in the morning. Replacing the pads with ceramic pads plus installing the new and improved Guide Pins eliminated the noise in my case. On the plus side, the 1.5 is very easy to modify without getting into the internals or the ECU. Adding a quality CAI that uses the factory air duct plus a quality exhaust system is definently the easiest mod you can do. For conservative drivers like myself those two mods increased my MPG over 25%. That is a conservative number, sometimes more if the wind is in your favor and you stick to the speed limit in Crusie Control. Other than that, well you have to be a Ford fan to appreciate a Bronco Sport. Its not a Toyota, it will require constant maintenance and loving care. In other words; at some point it will be in the dealers shop for something other than a oil change.

The way I see it, due to the pay increases for the plant assembly workers (overpaid general workers at GM, Ford, Dodge), manufactures overpricing the vehicle (especially Dodge), quality control, I think GM, Ford, Dodge will need to drastically reduce their prices or face going bankrupt or ask to be bailed out once again. When China enters the North American market, that will also be the end of the three auto makers. Japanese vehicles will be the high end/reliable vehicles and the Chinese vehicles will be the cheap disposable vehicles. As for electric vehicles, just a pipe dream that these idiot leaders are trying to push, never happen until technology advances drastically and they start building infrastructure. I don't claim to predict the future, just using common sense.

I drive in canada winter, i made 3500 km trip, i drive on highway, country road, i went into extreme heavy rain, the car works like a charm. It is extremely solid. We love it. You should be careful with all the influencers on youtube. I don’t trust them at all. Read the reviews of real owners instead. Nearly all the bronco sport (especially badlands 4 cyl 2.0 L) are very happy with the car. Mine after 2.5 years is like brand new, everything inside is working. You’re also wrong about the full size bronco “that carries a V6.” I own 2 door Badlands with an inline 4 2.3l ecoboost with 300hp. Just because you don’t understand the added offroading features in a Badlands sport doesn’t mean that they aren’t there and would be useful to someone who knows how to offroad.

The managers at North American automotive companies are typically business-oriented and often have shorter tenures. In contrast, managers at Japanese automotive companies are usually engineers who have spent decades with the company before being promoted, demonstrating a commitment that often spans 35-40 years.

Several vehicles you showed in your video have been wrecked. The peeling on the explorer belt moldings are a example of a body shop doing poor repairs. They blended the door and sprayed clear coat on these moldings. The hood emblem on the jeep had been painted over. Once again a body shop doing poor repairs. Poor body lines are often signs the vehicle has been wrecked. Often times these shops simply do not know how to properly perform these repairs

The "death wobble" in the first production of the JL wasn't really what most people consider the death wobble to be. It was due to the bracket on the steering stabilizer being improperly welded to the axle case. It was quickly rectified. The traditional "death wobble" is caused by loose bearings, bushings. misalignment or bent bits like the tie rod. They are usually associated with rough usage and improper maintenance and inspections. All in all the sold axles of the Wranglers are far more robust then most independent suspensions.

Got the 2023 Compass Trailhawk, fully loaded with every available option package (convenience, Trailhawk elite, sun and sound and tow group with trailer hitch). Sticker price was $47,215. I purchased for 37k thanks to Stellantis and dealer incentives. It’s the most I’ve ever spent on a car but I love it. It looks sharp and performs well and I hope it is as reliable as my 2012 Compass. (Yes the 2012 is slow, has a CVT and I have some complaints about that model year that have been rectified in the 2023 and newer). One complaint I don’t have is reliability. My 2012 now has 135k miles, engine and transmission are still running well and no major issues.

Well, just 2 things. I bought a Wrangler Rubicon back in 2014. It has almost 80,000 miles on it now (not counting the probably 20,000 + miles being pulled behind our motorhome). I have taken this rig places where you would probably poop your pants, as well as highway driving, with not one issue. 2) We bought an Equinox in 2019 with the 2.0. It will turn the tires when you punch it, even when going 20 MPH. It's not under powered and we have had no issues. Guess we're just blessed.

Your Rubi is about the age to have your steering linkage checked. My 2012 just got the ball joints etc. replaced about 8 months ago. They still had life in them but I opted to go ahead and had them changed as I was upgrading some other steering parts anyway. They only had a little play, but I’m keeping my Jeep for a long time so it was a worthwhile replacement. If you’re the handy type, check out bleepin’ jeep for a wheel alignment tool if you’re gonna mess with the steering. It’ll save you a ton on wheel alignments as I’m guessing you actually use your Jeep. 😀

A few months late but context is important on the explorer carbon monoxide recall. Former ford tech of 5 years I can tell you that the recall originated with an officer passing out in his cruiser. Ford builds the car yes, but then it goes to a aftermarket company to install all the police equipment, which involves drilling holes on the underbody to run the wiring and other things. Not one of these places thought that the holes they were drilling were allowing the access for the problem. Ford released the recall for the cruisers only at first, but extended it to a full recall for all to keep from customer panic.

A new TIPM will cost you about $400-$500 bucks, plus labor. It is not difficult to replace the unit and there are many videos on KZread that explains how it is done. However in most cases the unit will not have to be replaced. Worse case is it may need to have the hardwired bits redone. However most issues can be resolved by a simple hard reboot. and/or replacing blown fuses or relays.

The Bronco Sport is a "poseur", not made to go off road; It doesn't have a frame to support the twists encountered while off-roading. Your vehicle will flex too much and over time you'll have problems with cracked windshield and doors not closing well. Just my 2 cents.

GM is more concerned with Wall Street dividends and executive bonuses than building quality vehicles. Speaking of Jeep quality. Our neighbor bought a brand new Jeep got it home, parked it in his garage and the next morning there was a large puddle of oil underneath it.

I work on used cars that gets traded in. I seen all kinds of issues on all kinds of vehicles. 5th gen explorers did have recalls for toe links, carbon monoxide issues. The sixth gen is rear wheel driven primarily and has some recalls but its vastly improved. Bronco sport is just a square body escape, they seem to be ok. Dodge 3.6 engine is the worst engine in their lineup.

When general motors made the LS engines they were very reliable with decent fuel economy. It’s a shame GM had to just continue the LS engine because of emissions? I have a 2010 Camaro, RS,SS and the car has been bullet proof

It’s mostly the government’s fault many of these reliable engines are discontinued….not being able to meet emission standards ….so smaller engines are made with turbos and more electronics and more moving parts…..in turn, more prone for failure

The Explorer was redesigned in 2020 not 2022. From Front wheel drive (2010 to 2020) to rear wheel drive. The 2020 did not have a single part in common with the previous model. There were many quality issues with the rollout. The hoods for the previous explorer were made from aluminum to save weight. They tended to peel at the front edge. Same problems with the F150 which is all aluminum. The 2010/2019 Explorer was reduced from the reliable and reasonably powerful 3.5 motor/6 speed trans to a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder/10 speed trans. There have been problems with both the new engine and trans. Ford put a lot of effort into rolling out the new Explorer. It's hard to understand how they could have gotten so many things wrong. Wait at least 2 model years before buying anything new from Ford....

I rented a 2023 Ford Explorer in September 2023 and was so under impressed. It was not driver friendly. The accelerator was very jumpy. Hard to drive it smoothly..

Yea, not sure why the tuning isn’t better. It can be adjusted. The same motor and transmission in other Ford handle much better. Weird.

Wranglers are not overpriced if one considers the extra capability and the strength of the components that are required for their intended purpose. Stronger axles (chromoly steel), stronger suspension with more travel, a proper transfer case, lockers front and rear, and sway bar disconnects, and a bullet proof transmission all cost more money. Of course the extra cost is not worth it if the vehicle is to be used solely as a commuter/grocery getter vice a capable off road vehicle.

My 2023 Toyota RV4 is a joke, I was scammed by Toyota media hype and bought this vehicle. It was not that good as Toyota claimed: noisy engine, slow acceleration, tardy steering wheel, hard plastic all over on IP...... just not live with the hype. If you are interested my vehicle to buy from me, pls contact me here by responding my post. I can give you a good offer.
