Ford CL9000 Restoration: Window Lock Rings and Carpeting Cabinets

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey nice to see ya and welcome to the first episode of my CL9000 restoration series? The end goal is to have a functioning and working unique cab-over.
I want apologize for my camera shyness and possible brain damage I'm kind of new. I plan on continuing my progression and documenting my challenges working with discontinued vehicles and hope to bring some entertainment and interest along the way.

Finally a 9000. Better looking than the the Kenilworths and freightliners imo.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 Happy New Year! I just came across your video. I love the CL9000 rigs! I actually have one that belonged to my oldest brother. We started working on it together a few years back, before Covid. They are such cool trucks & Boy, do they have style & character! 🥰 I shall be checking out your other videos when I can. I haven’t done much with mine, but that will change in the near future. Best of luck with yours. Cabovers Rule, you know! Oh, yeah! 🥰🤩✌️

Thanks for the kind words and support :). Good luck with your truck as well. I find the hardest part is just starting the project and getting into motions.

I do like those CL9000's. I have an 87 LTL that a CL would be a good match for

The CL's were pretty unique. I also got a 79 LS9000 as well and before ford went to the "aero hoods" they had so much character in them.

Hi. I just found your channel. My Dad had a Ford CL9000 when I was a kid back in 1977. He had a few of them along with a Kenworth and a Peterbuilt over the years. I'm now looking for a CL9000 to restore myself. I have found a few at auction, one they wanted to much and the other the cab was completely shot? Do you happen to know of any they may be a good candidate for restoration? Also have you seen the Diesel Brothers Ford CL9000 they just purchased a few months back? I acutely looked at that same truck myself, but thats all I did was just look, way out of my price range. Super cool project you have going there, I'm jealous forsure. Looks like fun Brother. Like I said if you know of any good CL9000 please let me know, I would appreciate it. Take care Brother. Hawk out!!

Thanks for the nice words. 👍 I've seen the DB's COE and it looks slick. I was considering putting wide tires on the front of mine actually, but the winters here make them float around on ice plus I'm not planning on using mine for heavy weight. For finding a project truck around here is difficult most trucks have been scrapped and missing parts (most common grills) and people that have a good condition one either hide them away or want a lot of money. I bought mine for 8000$ it was meant to run and work. Once I drove it home (800km) ended up having to go though every aspect from engine to heater and interior. Sorry I can't help you with finding one for yourself but I'd say keep a look out online or even maybe a random farm lol (the L9000 I have I found it just sitting at a farm I asked and he sold it to me for 500$). Keep in mind parts seem to be getting tougher to source. That said I hope I'm able to show with my videos how to get over some of these hurdles myself
