One small truck stop up 79 had "18-wheeler cinnamon rolls." Big as a dinner plate. Each table had a little flag to raise if you needed the waitress.

They changed them quick! That’s all I know about that issue. I’ve always liked that Ford style of cab and my brother has one now. Sweet truck! It has the Silver 92 Detroit engine. Seeing the CL-9000 was great, air bag ride. There was a c.o.e. back in the 1970's and was a prototype built by American-Coleman named the Coleman Space Star. The cab did not tilt as the engine slid out the front on rollers & rails. It had 4 drive & 4 steer w/ single tires all around. The front was rounded, had a sleeper,an 8-V 71 and a closet for the mufflers and pipes. The tractor had locking pins on the back of the cab attaching the 27 ft. trailer & making it a twin steer straight pulling another 27 footer w/ singles also. Surprisingly in test w/ the combo loaded, the 8V- 71 managed to get 7 or 7.5 m.p.g.! The tractor also had an aero top letting the air flow smoothly.

I live in the South of Vietnam, there's a lot of used US cab over trucks working here some still with livery on them. Orange paintwork and you guest it Schindler on the side, DOT markings etc. Liked the paint colour on the Ford but I bet it hurts being outclassed by a four lettered word. Just love the sound of your pipes, I bet their great in a tunnel. I dropped an exhaust off a Ford Thames Trader 3 tonner in a London road tunnel, of all things I was travelling under the River Thames at the time not too far away from Fords assembly plant at Dagenham.

Let your wheels spin, and the money coming in! New to your channel. I cut my teeth on cabovers. Drove a 79 ford cl9000, 77 road commander, 84 freightliner coe, and my last one was a 87 362 pete. A hoods ok, but I miss my cabover's.

I know its a little late for this but in a past video you mentioned the differences between a 352 & 362. The biggest being the big windshield and triple wipers. For whatever reason, I suddenly realized that I had a friend who had a 362 but it had a split windshield with 2 wipers like the 352. Turns out it was an option for the 362. I don't remember what year his truck was but I thought you might find that interesting.

Ford CL 9000 best dashboard in the industry! when all systems are in proper operating parameters, all the gauges in the cluster read 12:00. You can just do a quick visual sweep over your gauges and tell right away if something is off. (I think this should be an industry standard.) Wonderful ergonomics from that driver's seat too the bad things about these air-ride cabs, especially the earlier units (the later models like this '91 had the 'bugs' worked out), was that they did ride like glass, but if you found yourself in icy conditions, you couldn't feel the road! Not good on black ice!!! :( what was that round hopper-looking thingy you were hauling?? Looked like a snow-thrower for a big truck! Be safe out there driver. Keep 'em coming

Them old Hilton or "Falcon 2" Ford Caboers are like Marmon's of Today's world. On my Dream list to own. Have been told by many owner's parts impossible to find. I believe it. Best looking truck of the time IMO. They're going for over $65,000 these days Restored. Some up to 100K.

Boy, your old strap roller could sure use a grease job :D I still prefer your COE to that Ford. Petes are what I've always loved best. I would love to own a 379 myself. But a 579 would be okay too :)

With that Ford CL9000 with the floating cab, he did a reverse glider to stay compliant with emissions. What I hear they want to pass a law to get the old trucks without emissions off the road witch sucks. Safe Travels and stay warm✌🏽
