    I don't care how many times I load up, I sometimes look stupid when I forget a step in the process. Usually that happens when I am distracted by talking to someone or getting out of sequence on my loading routine.

    Some of those trucks have the bed so low to the ground. I can not imagine our roads are so nice and flat that they don’t scrape a lot.

    I stopped at Rip Griffins in Flagstaff one day to get fuel, and the DOT were checking trucks that were parked in the lot, even getting drivers out of the sleeper. I never stopped there again.

    We use fire hose over the chains to bre cc ent rubbing. We have chains we just leave them on and slide them to the needed position

    As a retired trucker it's a love/hate relationship. I hated to be stopped, but I understood that without DOT too many more fatal accidents would occur. Just think if you would want unregulated rigs sharing the road with your family...

    we've had Wisconsin DOT sitting outside the race tracks at both Columbus and Jefferson nailing racers with trailer violations Glad I hauled my car on a wedge bed truck, they just waived me past.

    great video Steve must becoming close to the gear box break down or somethin nice to see putting carpet on top of bucket horrible telehandler Manitou makes the bloody computer sucks have to wait to engage gears or lift of lower the boom you must have travelling with the wind cause Orwell sounded good and clear

    Just a thought but I always roll my ratchet straps up the other way (redline in the inside) so it’s unrolls and don’t have to worry about trying to flip it.

    @FSC SPEED SOME HOW ,get ahold of me and I can go spot where the Fuzz is staging at . I live 5 minutes down the road from the Baltimore aka Dundalk Docks . I have no problem going out and spotting and relays back to you . Or even if you need to shut down “reserve parking “ & gotta get something to eat or whatever. Whatever I can do to PAY IT FORWARD.! ✌🏻

    A short piece of heavy rubber industrial tubing or discarded fire hose from your local fire department might be better than that carpet for shielding your crisscrossing chains from rubbing with each other while staying put.

    If you treated your Engine & Gear box & Pumpkin with Prolong products you would not have to worry about excessive engine idling and below 0 ‘ startups and your gearbox would be happier when you make those first cold shifts on your tour of duty Hey what the heck it is barely a $100 . 00 investment and a roll of shop towels & a new plastic Funnel & a roll of breath mints at the check out counter 🥸

    Yes if they need to fill the book they can write a brand new truck so every truck driver worries about the dot I've had my share of dealing with them was stopped every day for 2 months got to no the trooper by his first name since he was younger then me by 20 years after he seen I kept the truck up he just fill paperwork out with doing inspection no violations so if no other trucks we would talk a little while Jamie was pretty cool not like sum I've ran up on like was going to West TN was checked in Va then on 81 in TN checked I told guy in scale house be sure call Knoxville scale be on look out for me I be damned if he didn't pull me around to side run the third inspection in 4 hours time now that's why I don't care for them instead of looking at the first inspection paperwork and let me go they had to run there 2 in TN I no they got a job to do but sum hate life and truck drivers and don't need to be doing the job and sum that just out to make a name for there self sorry for the rant be safe stay healthy stay rolling

    well i see 2 things. the first is that you cross because it actually secures the load more, not just because its more convenient. and the second is that you dont have to carpet chains.

    If the handle will even move one click you have room to release it, just back it off manually one click at a time.
