You should ABSOLUTELY get something with a Screaming 2-Stroke in it!!! That is, if it can make you money, unless it's just going to be a shown truck for the channel. My gawd, I love the sound of the 8v and 12v Detroits. The way nature intended intended big rigs to sound.

@Henrik cabovers died out because the roads are not small like they are over across the pond. Sure there are tight spots here in the USA but nothing like in Europe or the uk.

The reason the older trucks are making a comeback is the fact that a lot of operators don’t feel like messing with the ELD’s and DEF

I was born in 1980 and can remember the days when cab overs were the dominant semi truck type on the highways. As a kid my favorite was the Kenworth Aerodyne they always just looked like the king of the road to me as a kid. Of I liked and knew all of the different brands and that interest as a young kid definitely caused my life long interest in heavy machinery and military equipment. I definitely still feel nostalgic for the old aerodyne Kenworths but as an adult I prefer the look of the Pererbuilt and Freightliner COEs. In the area I currently live I do see a few OTR classic cab overs regularly. Someone that dose runs to a local brick kiln has a nice Pete COE looks to be a late 80’s or early 90’s model. I kind of like how today the cab overs are much less common it makes them such a gem to see on the road.

I really like the way you explain why and how you do something. How you strapped down the ramps in the trailer to get off the skid steer. Or how you’d like the truck to have started a few turns later so that oil pressure can build up. Gives me the chance to learn something new every day. Thanks

Love the 8V92TA, but the Cat or similar vintage Cummins gets better fuel mileage. Best wishes

You’re right about the Detroit but get a Buzzin Dozen. V12. Twin turbos will put out over 600 hp.

I use to drive K125 with 892TTA 350,000-400,000 kilometres per year. Great sound but they love fuel & leak oil. That was back in the 1980's.

I was a ground support equipment mechanic in the Air Force and much of our stuff was powered by either 4V71 or 6V92 DD we also had a few large air conditioners that ran on 8V92s. Anyway the saying for any Detroit Diesel was “if it’s not leaking some oil something is wrong”

Love your channel! Digging the cab over! The green monsters you unloaded at the port, we call them "Dragon Wagons" we see those things all the time in Southern California. I live very close to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and the Marines use these to haul the Abrams Tanks up and down the coast. New front end work on Orwell looks nice!

Loved the view from the bridge crossing. Thanks for video. Once in a while I cross the Bong (spelling ????) bridge up in WI/MN Duluth/Superior area and I thought that was a treat. You crossing was WOW...... Keep the videos coming!

That M985 is wicked! 80,000 lbs up Trans Mountain pass in North El Paso @ 50 mph. Down to 7 or 8 mph just before the top, drop it into low range 8x8, and doesn't exceed 35mph on the way down. No engine brake, no air brakes. Ungoverned, same load to 80 mph on the flats. Tactical heavy hauler. We had nine of them in my Patriot battery, another five or six of the same truck with other cargo options. Great machine. Thirsty as hell though.

I hauled Caterpillars out of Canton NJ and Baltimore back in the day. I could have made some pocket money loading trucks because you had to load your own. Many drivers had ZERO idea how to operate Dozers, Trachoes, Backhoes or Skid steers so many times I was there for several hours loading trucks for other drivers. Good times. Thanks for sharing your story! On to the next one!🇺🇸🇺🇸

Skidsteer breakovers are a hoot. Inch forward until just get to that tilt point and then slowly creep down until the tracks make contact fully. Exciting!!!

Thats was showing the brotherhood of trucking helping each other loading or unloading. making it easer and safer..nice video.

Another great video from you. The OSHKOSH HEMETT was originally a vehicle called the 'Dragon Wagon' & I believe it was made by an aircraft man- ufacturer before OSHKOSH bought the truck and re- designed it. If I re- member correctly it was Lockheed who made the original 'Dragon Wagon' . Yes to a 2- stroke, & why is it called a Detroit Diesel? At one time they were known as G.M. diesels.International coined the name Detroit from where they were made,in Detroit, Michigan. At that time I-H was a big purchaser of the engines and a competitor of FORD DODGE, GMC and White. How would it look having a G.M. diesel in your FORD or DODGE ?

I was never a fan of Detroits, even though they powered a couple of trucks I drove. For me it's a Cummins 400 big cam 3 or a Cat 3406b. But since the quality of your videos puts all others to shame, if you go with a Detroit in another truck I'll be right here watching you every morning.
