I'm massive fan of the change in the channel from a football channel to an "Interview with John's" channel.

@@meninblazers Not sure that would be the best title, considering the double meaning of the word "John" in the English language :D
Guests on Men in Blazers just keeps getting better and better! loved this conversation so much. John Green genuinely loves this football game and his Teams and that passion and love clearly shows.

I’d pay ridiculous money for a weekly Roger, John Oliver, and John Green football podcast.
I am so glad that the Men in Blazers show keeps popping up in my YT feed. While I record and watch the show on TV, it is much easier to consume it straight off YT. I only wish that I had 10% of the ability at sarcastic humor that Rog (and John Oliver) have. Brilliant show. Funny, insightful, and therapeutic even. Never a boring moment. I absolutely love it.

this show is beautiful. As someone who loves football as a reflection of the human condition, i cant express how nice it is to have people love the thing i love, for the reasons i love.
I can’t express the joy it gave me to listen to you guys talk. It is so cool to see two people you enjoy watching/listen to/read have a conversation. I love it.
Thank you, gentlemen. That was lovely.

Our pleasure!
On simple beauty and the Firmino song, possibly my favorite memory from the Champions League Final in 2019 was the video from the RedmenTV youtube channel when the recording of that song by a small local Liverpool band done for charity starts playing "Si Senor" at the Wanda Metropolitano. RedmenTV had been pretty heavily involved in promoting it and the joy from Chris when he realizes what it is and then hears half of the stadium singing it in unison, it's just such a nice moment of the totality of footballing culture.
Wish I was as empathetic as these two. To get my shit kicked in over and over in one way or another and still spout cheesy but true things like "hope is the correct response"
We all really do love Bobby Chompers. No joke. #YNWA

Two of the best human beings in all of media!!!
Love to see the two of them talking about Liverpool but they could talk about absolutely anything and I’d listen. John’s earnest, emotional, open approach to life is so refreshing. He’s got a City fan getting emotional about Klopp’s influence on the game and on his boys ❤
Lovely chat, gents. Thank you. 🥲
Rog's facial expressions will always get a kick out of me
I needed that.

Hope and Courage… Priceless. Thanks Rog!
So gratified to hear you mention Ange in such glowing terms (what manner of monster would do otherwise?). I am a now-suffering Celtic fan, and we loved him. If he had stayed for another year or two, and gotten us out of the CL group stage even once, I can't express what it would have meant. Millions of ruddy, pasty-faced Scotsmen and Irishmen would have marched en masse to the Vatican, and demanded that he be the Greek since the Great Schism and the first living person in history, to be canonized a Catholic saint. Unfortunately, our board reverted to form - hiring a man who had left us mid season, but whose accent and religious background were palatable to the Auld Fenian Garde. They went on to take the millions they reaped from the sales of Giakoumakis, Jota, and Starfelt, and subsequently buy....... (crickets chirping). John Oliver said it well on your podcast - being a true football fan, is to live in a perpetual state of " *WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SILLY SODS THINKING* ?!?" I'm paraphrasing Mr Oliver, but I doubt he would mind the editorial license.
I love both these dudes

Bobby Firmino is partaking in a sportswashing campaign, but sure let's just be happy he's getting the bag when he already had more money than most people would ever have
Excellent crossover episode!
Wonderful conversation! Made me smile throughout!
I listen to a lot of long form interviews. If Rog isn't the best he's certainly on the Mount Rushmore of the best.
That's it for all honest fans...we love to hate our rivals and rub salt in their wounds and we allow this in ourselves because it's footy...delightful and terrible footy, the one arena where faux hatred is actually called for, not that hooligan shite who take it all too seriously where people can actually get hurt...no, no, none of that but seriously enough as fans, we love to hate them across the way who we ask in ridicule can they support that awful club? And we should allow this in ourselves for the sake of the catharsis that comes from letting ourselves be acceptably terrible and cruel to our "enemies" on derby day where this is kind of insane nonsense is and should be actually acceptable.
the other day, did I hear that the goalkeeper deflected a shot with his firm onanistic Dutch wrists? I must have been hallucinating, but then again I did hear a couple of times that footballers were self emoliating. Not immolating. Does this mean that they lost their lives in a barrel of vitalis? Love the interviews Rog. Boxer would be proud
Wasn’t Firmino making 10M per year at Liverpool? He already had that bag.

As much as this new crop of liverpool players is growing on me, There is still a giant Bobby Dazzler shaped hole in my heart. Sim Senhor.
how john talks about wimbledon is what it feels like to be 5 beers deep in the bleachers at wrigley
Anyone else feel powerfully that these two gentlemen need to team up to fight for the soul of the Universe? Can't just be me, right?

As a long time Mancity fan, I suffered with my team. Never thought we’d get a treble. I cried when we won that FA cup in 2011. So yeah talk about hope.

Lots of footballers spend money and time in Gulf states without censure so why the focus on Hendo?
