(FLYING THROUGH AMAZING THUNDERSTORM) Volaris A320-200 inflight takeoff Mexico City (MEX)

Let me just start off by saying, THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR 700 Subscribers! I can't thank everyone enough for the continued support! This was my first time flying in an airplane and wow! What an amazing flight this was! I don't have footage of my flight to MEX from LAX because of dead batteries :/
Hope you guys enjoy this takeoff with the lightning :D

I am a pilot, and I am laughing my ass of at these comments. You guys are talking about how scary it is seeing the wings move up and down in turebulence. The wings are SUPPOSED to move up and down. That wing movement allows the aircraft to absorb more shock from the turbulence. It is just like the springs, struts, coils, and shock absorbers on your car. They absorb the road imperfections so you get a smoother ride. That being said, the Rockies do suck at times....even for pilots.

That was around the storm. I flew THROUGH an intense storm while beginning to land, worst experience ever. The lightning was so blinding it looked like a sci-fi movie where we were being abducted by aliens. Not even gonna mention the turbulence and people sobbing. I freaked out silently but thought I was gonna die. My legs felt like jelly when we were allowed out. Never been happier to be back on solid ground!

Literally every flight to Florida is this, flew home for Christmas in 2018 and there was this really bad turbulence at one point and I was having a panic attack. It doesn’t help that I was in the middle seat and the lady next to me was just as nervous as I was. Also she wouldn’t open the damn window which made everything 100x worse.

@@as680783 lmfao good one. An update though I flew from Toronto to Denver a couple months ago and we flew through a storm in Denver (as if the turbulence from the mountains wasn't bad enough) and I found that sitting by the window helps a lot with the turbulence. It helped me to see the wing physically move for some reason. Apparently we flew over "bumps" as the pilot described it and I didn't even notice them lol

  • @as680783

@@21darkster That's an unusual character trait. Most passengers - especially nervous ones - get worried and scared when they see the plane's wings moving. Obviously not aware that if the wings don't move up-and-down in turbulence then is the time to start to worry. I can see how watching the wings would help though. Nice hack!

Even though I was 6 years old when this happened, I remember the flight from South Africa when we first moved to the UK, we were on an airbus flying from Johannesburg to Adis Ababa on route to London when about half way through the flight, I believe we were over the equatorial part of the Congo or else Western Uganda or something like that, we encountered a line of thunder storms we could not avoid without going over 1000 miles or so away, so we flew through a thunder head, and I remember being scared out of my mind, but also fascinated as we passed through the thunder head in a large airbus. My mom says we were at about 31,000 feet or so. 6 year old me had no idea what was going on as it was my first time on a plane, and I just had to pick the window seat so I was clinging on to my brother's hand with my eyes glued to the window as a bit of lightning flashed around us. Though that was 12 years ago now, I remember it as if it was yesterday. Our flight from Adis Ababa to London then our small flight from London to Manchester must have been relatively uneventful because I don't remember those. I've visited South Africa to see my grandparents every couple years or so throughout my life and never have I ever had a flight quite like that one when we moved to the UK from SA. Now I do direct flights from London to Johannesburg and back, though I have done the route through Adis Ababa a few times too. So yeah, I wanted to share my experience with flying through a thunder storm with you.

I actually had this happen to me in November 2011. I was flying to Orlando Florida but from where I live, you take two flights to get there. This happened on the first flight. First flight was to Toronto. It was actually pretty cool and scary at the same time. The storm was far from the plane but we could see the lightning flashes clearly from it. I love thunderstorms but I’d rather be on the ground while witnessing them.

This reminds me how flying through a thunderstorm can be a very scary experience especially when you have your young son with you. We flew from Gatwick to Edmonton Canada via Minneapolis St Paul in 2004 and on our final approach into MSP we hit a pretty bad thunderstorm. My son asked me at one stage if we were going to die.I smiled at him and assured him that everything would be fine....while completely sh**ting myself!

You flew around the storm, planes, regardless of size, avoid thunderstorms like the plague. On occasion, they can fly over the top. That's rare because t-storms can reach 60,000 feet. Also some nasty updrafts and anvil lightning can happen there as well.

Same happened to us coming back from Ft. Lauderdale after a cruise we had a layover in Atlanta and there was a really bad storm, it was horrific, I hope i never have to go through that again, we spent 3 hours in Atlanta, it was supposed to be only 1 hour layover, when we took off, we were probably 20 people on board because everybody else were directed to different airports.

Love it too, it’s also called taxiing. Like you said, they go through their final checks while on the taxiway.
