Tucker, watching this video brought tears to my eyes. twenty two years ago I was taking fight lessons to get my private pilots license. I had promised my dad that I would take him up in a Cessna 152 after I get my license. During the time I was taking my flight lessons, my dad was diagnosed Alzheimer's disease. By the time I got my license, my dad was in such bad shape with Alzheimer's, he didn't know our family anymore. I still attempted to take dad to the airport, I had already reserved a rental plane, but it was too hard for my to help him from the wheel chair to the plane. He just wanted me to take him back home. About a month later, my dad past away. I'm glad you were able to take your dad flying and even though he was scared, I'm sure he enjoyed it.

Wow. Similar story here. Shared aviation with my dad growing up (model planes, etc). Got my PPL when I was about 48. Dad started going to fly-ins with me. We were going to be fly-in pals for ever. Went to three. Then cancer stopped him from being able to fly. Crushes me to think about what we could have shared.

Tucker....I don't say much, here, since i'm old enough to be your grandpa, but your dad is awesome!! For someone obviously afraid of heights (a very real fear, and not to be trivialized) he also obviously loves and trusts you. Things like this flight are in the 'Dad' job description, but a lot of guys would have bailed out on actually flying. After all, this ain't Little League, y'know?? Great job, Mr. Gott! :-)

My Dad couldnt be talked into it. Both have passed away now, i miss them a lot. Your Dad has raised a good son. Love them both and cherish these memories while you have them. Blue Skies brother. Its really great that you had the chance to take your dad up with you. I would say he is one very bracve man, as those who dont like hights must find sitting in a seat with nothing else round you has got to be really frightening and there is nothing wrong in admitting your feelings. To me it still is amazing that a bit of material some lines aand a harnes is about as close to standing in mid air as you can get.. I have seen the video of you and your mum, she is some lady, its nice to have such a close family, its worth the world . This was a good video and one i bet you keep for life well done.

I’m afraid of heights and I do this so I know exactly what he’s feeling!!! But it’s such a blessing that you’re able to do this with your dad. My dad died when I was 16 so I’ll never get the opportunity but I’m so glad that you are not wasting your opportunities and you’re sharing this with your love ones!! And also this is probably the most funny thing that I noticed you and your mom have the same haircut!!! Tucker got has the Mom due!!! 😂😂

When I started my Canadian Ultralight training (think LSA 1300 Lbs. and 2 seats) I noticed (not for the first time) that I had a "heightened awareness" when at altitude but I REALLY wanted to fly so I went skydiving. Talk about aversion therapy. The standard exit from a high wing monoplane is horrendously frightening to anyone with a fear of heights! It is NOT like bailing out of the door like in the movies. You hang by your hands from the struts in 70 mile per hour winds. Watching the plane "fall away from me" was a huge relief! After that I was much more comfortable when flying. "I have traversed that space without an aircraft and done a little wing walking to boot!" so surely I am safer inside of one. I fell in love with flying under canopy at that time. It's a lot like playing around on a swingset when you were a kid and imagining that you were flying. Freefall is exciting but it's flying that I love.

Hey Tucker, great video as always. Next time you get comped a scout you should give away one of your old ones... I'm totally kidding around. Seriously though, I can watch your videos all day. The freedom that comes with flying must be amazing. Just being above all of the natural and man made obstacles on the ground must be really unique and exciting. Your buddy from one of your videos (motor out at 4,500 feet) said it best, "the world becomes smaller." I'm so intrigued by this sport and hope someday I have my own paramotor. I probably gotta wait until I hit the lottery or until my kids are out of college but I can still dream. Thanks again for the inspiration. You've opened up a world to me that I never knew existed. I'm looking forward to more content soon. Stay safe and enjoy the skies.

Great Dad's who participate, are present and in some way are supportive are the best. Please say Thank you to your Dad! I hope, and probably others too, who follow you, would enjoy seeing more, when time allows. a foot drag on grass or a patch of water would probably be a highlight for your Dad too! Great video! Greetings from sunny Johannesburg. RSA.
