After a week away for work, I'm back at the flip house. There are lots of projects underway these days, but this week's video is all about the upstairs bathroom. Like most of the houses in the neighborhood, there is only one full bath in these homes and, as you can see... this one needs some love. Bathroom demos can get expensive FAST so my goal, as always, is to create a fresh updated space without too much major demo. The plan for this bathroom is to create more space in front of the vanity... the current distance is TIGHT. In order to create more space, my contractor is going to open up the wall behind the vanity and borrow some space from the little room at the back of the house. This will not only create more square footage in the bathroom, but it will also allow us to repurpose those shelves into bathroom storage.
My contractor will take care of opening up the wall, sheet rock and plumbing, but I wanted to make it easier for him by disconnecting the vanity, removing the wall tile, medicine cabinet and light and then pulling up the floor. IF there was a way to match that floor tile, I would have left it but, alas... there's not so up it will come.
The name of this demo was frustration. I'm thankful it was a small space because I was stumped on more than one occasion, but... I got through it and can't wait for the next step which will be floor tiles, patching the sheet rock, paint and installing the vanity.
