I saw the Challenger disaster live, Christa McAullife being a school teacher meant that a lot school kids(especially elementary) were present. Millions more had to be told that instead of getting to see the launch and such that she along with the other 6 had perished. It was a devastating moment that very nearly ended our space program forever (guess that'd make folks like Dave, sleeping warrior and his big mouthed buddy happy) and it was several years before we launched anything. Fortunately we chose to discover why and how it had happened. Then corrected the problem. The most important thing was realizing that space is exceptionally dangerous and even with the best preparation it's still dangerous. They along with all the others who've gone to space knew that. The best way to honor them is to go forward not cower on the ground. To make light of their accomplishments and sacrifices is shameful. But I guess we shouldn't be surprised, it seems to be the only thing flerfers do. All we ever hear from flerfers is how "that's impossible to do"," that's fake" , "we don't know what that is but it's not what you think" " prove that it's a globe etc etc. Always how it's impossible, wrong and such never an idea to try and learn or to prove their claims it's just attack the globe instead if proving your flat earth. I can think of only one flerfer who had the courage to try and explore. Tragically he was killed when his rocket failed. Despite the fact I didn't agree with his theory about earth I do respect him a great deal. He had the courage to try and explore and prove his beliefs, unlike the bulk of flerfers who are always negative and never put skin in the game. Oh and I believe Dave is British? Somewhere in that region. Why is it whenever I hear the flerfers there rail about space and the ISS , going to the moon and exploring other planets etc. I never hear them mention the ESU or any of the space agencies around the world. It's always NASA. When I heard the various space deniers attack the JWST, they only mention NASA. Why is that I wonder?

But whenever I look in the sky here in Australia, I can never find it. . . It should be in the north. . . That's why it's called the north star. . You use it to navigate by. If the earth is flat, we should all be able to see the same stars. I think there is a conspiracy between every person who lives in the northern hemisphere to lie about the existence of Polaris. Hubble isn't calebrated to "turn round" and take a photo of earth. It's like using a telescope to look at an ant from 3 foot away. The remarks Dave made about challenger are totally out of order. Children watched thier school teacher (first civilian in space) die horribly on live TV. Families at the launch site watched it live and the footage of them crying and shocked still stays with me to this day. I was six when it happened so was old enough to realise it was a horrible and saddening disaster at the time. I learned in later years the some of the crew survived the explosion and had the horrific fall back to earth. That made me cry and don't mind admitting it either. For this Dave to actually claim it was an empty shuttle is just crass and insensitive. Plus his conspiracy theory doesn't make any sense what so ever.

Also, the Hubble's cameras are so sensitive that they can't look at the Earth (or the Moon) because they are too bright for the camera sensors. I know this because I have similar cameras (Ultra-sensitive Astronomy cameras) in my Telescopes. Plus, Hubble can't simply 'Zoom In' and look at something on Earth. All its cameras have a fixed FOV. A Kansas farmer used his 300 cows in 2018 to say HI to a passing satellite. He laid the feed of the cows in a HI pattern when he knew a satellite would fly by. Proving that there are satellites orbiting the earth that take pictures of weather patterns has been done already. If you don't believe a Kansas farmer, you can repeat the experiment yourself. Most paths of satellites are listed online or in apps. Some satellite pictures are public available. You must only calculate and find a suitable place and build a big enough structure.

Every time someone says the earth is flat and there is no space I take that crap personally. It's a personal attack against my family. They're basically calling my Grandaddy a liar. My papa ( that's what we called him) was a pilot. He could fly anything, from biplanes to jets and airliners, to helicopters. He's seen things he never reported to bosses because they would've assumed he was drunk on duty and they'd fire him. He was Air Force National Guard, later flew for PanAm, and had his own plane for crop dusting. He worked with NASA on the rocket prototype between the earliest Mercury-Atlas rockets they called the Friendships, and the space shuttle (the Apollos) that took Neil Armstrong to the moon to be the very first person to set foot there. (We have the model he made and some blueprints in the house here somewhere) Papa was friends with him, and with Colonel John Glenn, the Marine Corps pilot who was the first American to orbit the earth. In addition I went to an elementary school named for John Glenn. I got to meet him 3 times. I was obviously young but I have a very good memory. And if these people want proof that the earth is round and people were in space, I'd suggest they do their research on the astronauts. Speak to them if you can. Because one thing that shines through my memories of the times he was came to visit the school was that I got to listen to Colonel Glenn tell his story about what it was like up there. The look on his face, in his eyes... there was nothing but truth there. So I do find flat earthers' rhetoric personally offensive

What is especially upsetting about the denial of the Challenger crash, is that I have worked as a substitute teacher at McAuliffe Elementary in Riverside, CA. This is the school which Ms. McAuliffe worked at, as she was the only non-astronaut aboard. I believe, if I remember correctly, the school mascot is the astronaut cadet, in honor of her mission. Those who doubt are despicable.

Let’s get him on but don't take the piss though, he'll want to drink it." Isn’t the first urine of the day the one that carries the most concentrated negative content in it? Is that not why they test that one, even then they ask for mid flow. What people from the scientific community, apart from psychiatrists, would talk to him except to say "Get lost"? @@commisar_________________7071 No. It is not a good cleaning agent. That's a little like saying that because urine is mostly water, it's good for cleaning. Because water is clean. Ammonia is only good for cleaning if you need the ammonia to kill germs, or dissolve stuff. And, urine only breaks down to ammonia AFTER bacteria get it. And there's other stuff in there. And the fact that it comes out sterile, does not change that it's also full of bacteria food. So, it might, possibly be useful to rinse a wound, if you have no clean water. But clean water would still be better. And, being stinky is one of the reasons to clean yourself. So that's a failure. basically, all your premises are flawed.

It's an ancient Eastern tradition, believed to heal external ailments using the body's natural antibodies released in our urine, which is "sterile, antimicrobial, and has anti-inflammatory properties," says dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, MD. Surprisingly, Dr. Bowe isn't grossed-out by the idea. "It's actually not as disgusting as it sounds!" she says. "I recommend and prescribe different concentrations of urea, one of the main components of urine, all the time for my patients. It hydrates the skin and helps exfoliate away dead cells, giving skin a brighter appearance, smoother texture, and a healthy glow. Urine also has minerals, salts, hormones, antibodies, and enzymes, some of which might actually benefit the skin."
