Hi Brupibo. Thank you so much for the helpful video. I have no problem arming between tracks using launchkey only when they are midi tracks. When I have audio tracks involved, the red arm button does not activate on the audio tracks. Do you know why this happens?

The first one is the MSD mode, you can turn it off by holding shift while plugging in the USB cable and then pressing the yellow pad

Nice video but .. question i have a dell xps 13 16g and its not reading the keyboard at all when i plug it in all the pads turn turquoise and i cant get it out of that mode even after hitting Shift/Plug 🔌 dim yellow light and hitting 3 does not then hitting session mode its locked in the blue turquoise mode?

how about velocity setting?. one of my key is too loud always hit 127

Hi! Check your audio output configurations in Ableton. It is probably a audio routing problem.

I'm on a Mac pro. Whenever I plug in my launchkey and i open ableton, i hold shift and only three pads light up: the "drum" and "custom" on the top row light up in orange and on that same row, the "custom" pad all the way to the right in the default turquoise. When I switch from the two orange pads from drum to custom, all the pads light up. Two on the left and right light up in pink on the top and bottom and the rest in the middle are all blue. It doesn't match my ableton project at all. And I can't assign the pads or knobs to anything. If i trry to navigate ableton from the launchkey, nothing happens. I am updated to the latest firmware and all my settings are the same.

Hello! Some questions to help you troubleshoot: 1) is your Ableton updated? Launchkey mk3 was implemented in an iteration of Ableton 10, so, if you are in Ableton 10, check if you have the latest version. 2) Did you set Launchkey Mini MK3 as a control surface? Go to Ableton settings and check that. Select the MIDIIN2 and MIDIOUT2 (or might be labeled simply as" Launchkey Mini MK3 DAW"). Also you need to set "on" for "track" and "remote" in the lower part of the control surface settings page in Ableton. Those are the most common issues.

Hello, my question concerns problem number two in your video. I use the USB cable to connect the Launchkey to my computer. I do not see the MIDIIN or MIDIOUT options available in the menu. Does anyone know what I need to do if I do not have those options?

Hi! Check if you're using the latest version of Ableton and your drivers and firmware are updated. If everything is updated and you're in a Mac, it might have a different name (maybe instead MIDIIN/OUT it is written DAW).

You probably didn't set it as Control Surface in Settings (or you're using the wrong port). Check if it is set as Control Surface with MIDIIN2 / MIDIOUT2 ports (sometimes is labeled as DAW port). Also check if "Remote" is "On".

I rejected the Novation as usb which helped with the crashing.But still cannot access the session mode when I hold shift... I have the midi option selected correctly and the most current firmware...Any ideas.

Hi. It is probably due to the Control Surface settings in Ableton. I talk about it in this video. If it doesn't work for you, try to contact Novation support.

Hi! Everything seems to work aside from drums not being playable from the pads! Other instruments can be played both from the keys and the pads, but not the drums.

I noticed that any drum set from under the 'Drums' category works fine both on keys and pads, whereas drums from under the 'Instruments' category do not work at all. Any ideas how to make the drum sets from the 'Instruments' work? I had them working earlier, but now I can't seem to get any sound from them...

Were you using Drum Mode or Custom Mode in Launchkey pads? Because it might be a mapping issue. Drum Mode works flawlessly with Drum Racks, but if an instrument has a different drum mapping, it might not work as expected. In thia case, you can use Custom Mode and edit the pads notes in Novation Components. Idk if it really is this your issue, but you could try.

Hello! Some people had issues with USB 3.0. Try another USB port. Other than that I don't know what could it be, unfortunately.

It should work, but I tried to help one person here and, after trying everything and not working, he tried to switch ports and that solved the problem. I have no idea how to help you, sorry. If you have a usb hub, try to use it. If doesn't work Try to ask Novation Support.

@@1i3R Nope. Someone else suggested I change the output and Input to Novation Launchkey (Daw port) but he was using Apple and I am on windows.

Hello! Check Ableton Settings, if Launchkey is selected as Control Surface and if both Launchkey MIDI and MIDI2 are set "On" in Track and Remote.

Thanks! My problem is this, when I press the button to record, I start to play music and then I press the record button to stop the recording and the button stays "blinking" for a few seconds, this makes it continue recording silence, and it is impossible to loop , What could be the problem?

Hi! Recording length is tied to the global quantization. If you stop recording mid bar, it will still record the rest of the bar. Check my Ableton playlist, I have a video there that explains this better.

The problem is that sometimes I can record the loops without problem, like the ones you have on your channel, but other times the rec button stays blinking for a couple of seconds and that causes a lag that makes it impossible to record, maybe launchkey needs usb 3.0 to work perfect? I have usb 2.0

I think your Control surface configuration is not correct. Try to do the steps I suggest in this video. If it doesn't work, check if your Ableton is updated.

@@brupibo actually yesterday i got my new launchkey mini mk3 ... But the aftr pressing shift button the frst row of pads are supposed to light up .. but its only 3 pads lights up .. I can't use session button aftr pressing shift... Even can't use play, record, solo buttons ..so is there any method while registering it or any kind of method so that i can use it smoothly with ableton live

All I can suggest to you is to set it up as told in the manual and follow the tips in this tutorial video. Go to my computer > eject Launchkey and don't remove the cable. Wait for it getting identified again. Notice that Launchkey Mini Mk3 only works in Ableton Live 10 (Lite, Intro, Standard or Suite)

Check if your Ableton is updated. It should be 10.1.14. Perhaps older ones didn't have Launchkey Mini mk3 script. If you update, you should see the Launchkey Mini Mk3 option in control surfaces.

instlling this update.. on my windosw 7.. made my launchkey mini mk3 unrecognisablr by zthe system.. nobody from .. csuppot could help me.. addvise please.?

After 4 launch key mini staff helpers... Could not solve the issue... I did it well more heads knows more the trick was to disable the USB uninstall the driver.. Then unplug replug and reinstall it... On windows 7...but it might be just my pc. But still that was the trick for me.

Someone else's launchkey mini mk3 also self triggering drum pads?
