Andrew Whitehead; I think my old Gen Two Prius has something to do with that. No seriously, everybody gives them shit, Tesla Toyboys shit on them for using gas, Toyota toyboys shit on them for being electric ..and any time I tried to go up a hill or literally just move in snow I shit on it too but honestly, I’ve never seen a vehicle that required so little to go so far. The Prius played a huge role in building EVs low maintenance rep, IMO.

@RichRebuilds I wish I watched this Playlist earlier. Today is officially ELEVEN DAYS since I ordered my used Tesla Model S. I specifically picked one that was listed as at a local dealer and I am picking it up (so it doesn't even need to be transported further than their storage place because I guess they don't keep them on site?). No idea what the delay is. Once you make payment, they become ghosts. I'm on my 3rd potential delivery date already, all I've been told is that there's been a "logistics delay". I tried to call their call center on Friday and was left on hold soo long the system gave up and just told me to leave a message. This is STRESSFUL. Your videos are the only thing keeping me sane over here. Update: Got a 4th delivery date and NO ONE can explain why. Keep in mind, the car is not being shipped. I specially selected a local car. I have been insuring a vehicle I don't have for almost a month now....

It really annoys me that fanboys don't seem to be objective in many cases. I think you are doing a real service to the Tesla and EV community by be pragmatic and honest about your experiences. This aids in setting realistic expectations about what to expect when considering an EV and applying consumer focussed pressure onto a company to improve their behaviours and interactions. The quickest way for a company to and grow improve is to listen to the community focussed on your products and incrementally improve where it is feasible to do so. This helps all stakeholders, especially the fan boys! Thank you so much for what you do :)

Hey Uncle Rich, my lease is nearing its end on my gas car and I’ve been watching the prices of Early Model S’ dip lower and lower as the days pass. My question is should that be something to consider for my first EV to be used as a Daily Driver and if I decide to go that route what are some things I can expect from a Model S with 70K+ miles on the dash? Thanks in advance if you can provide some insight!

Hey Rich, great video as always. I have a suggestion for the mechanical brake corrosion issue. How about suggesting to TESLA to create a API to have the cars computer set a interval of using the mechanical brakes once in a while so that they get hot enough to keep from corroding from lack of use? The API can be either set on a schedule or selected by the owner to perform the action which would show up on the screen as such. Just a thought. Stay safe!

Did those coolant connectors fail due to multiple battery removals? Seems like a silly complication for what could be a two hoses with a clamp which would last 20 years. How often do they expect the battery to be removed? Chances are if it needs a replacement then it also needs new coolant anyway.

Awesome video as always and explaining how a Tesla works and survives is fantastic. I would love to have a Tesla myself but it needs to have the same functionality and interior capacity as my 2004 Toyota minivan all-wheel-drive which now has 155,000 miles on it and so far we have only replaced the belts and the water pump due to one belt breaking . The belt that broke was the power steering belt so when that was replaced we did the timing belt and water pump as preventative measures. Also flush the transmission and add a new fluid along with all the other fluids replaced. I manage rental property and the minivan will hold at least four garbage cans full of wood chips or leaves along with chainsaw leaf blower weedeater buckets of tools and other boxes of supplies and a roof rack where I keep a ladder and a pole saw trimmer. It is a better truck with the function of keeping your tools safe and secure than my large ram trucks for holding Tools in performing jobs. I don’t think the model X quite has the interior space yet to match the Toyota minivan.

Rich, could you show the alignment? I'm curious about the change in alignment with different height levels if any.

Why not use stainless steel backings for the break pads?

This channel is always good for a giggle about stuff...and you do kinda learn stuff as well. I really wish you would show other EVs though....does the Electrifie Garage only work on Teslas ?.....might be missing a trick there Rich...on a few different fronts....peace to ya.

Rich would you ever consider bringing a Tesla to race week or drag week?
