The yellow screen border comes from oxidizing glue that has not been fully cured by the screen manufacturer. The UV light is used to completely cure it and bleach away the yellowness.

Glue was cured. It got yellow on the edge, because of use, and probably because the car baked in the sun for at least half of ita traveled mileage.

Reading some of the comments it’s clear that many are not aware of what is being bought by buying a Tesla - especially the S and X range... These cars literally forced the automotive industry to do a u-turn on thier ”EV is just a fad” mantra. Yes, the panel gaps are bad, yes, door alignment is an issue, but by God what you are getting is a car that literally dragged the industry kicking and screaming into the EV world. My X is far from perfect, but I am proud to own something that still turns heads, is incredibly reliable - even in a Swedish Winter, is comfortable on long journeys, provides stress-free driving, and is part of the ’EV is the future’ mindset. Without the S and the X, the 3 and the Y would not have been possible - for at least another 5-10 years. So yea... It ain’t perfect, but it tells a very important EV story.

Is it Tesla or the laws forcing manufacturers go electric, that did that .. :)
@cobrachannel100

There are way more benefits than that. The tech is really awesome with all the sensors, the doors closing and opening automatically and with brake pedal press, etc. Plus it runs comfortable, drives well better than its size suggests, and accelerates like a beast. Plus, it has a ton of storage space. I have never had any major problems with it. Is it perfect? Nope! But, I would not trade it with any ICE vehicle ever. The only thing that is comparable is Model S. I may replace it with a refreshed S.

@Bjørn Nyland Hy. Do you think, if I buy a roof rack on the model x, it not let's let me to open the falkon wing doors, can go to the back searts by rolling the front seats as forward as possible, and folding seatbacks down? Thanks in advance j
@BenGreggSweden
5 ай бұрын
Would your really NEED a roof rack on this thing? It’s already got a ton of extra space-at least a roof rack’s worth in the frunk, and in the back end subfloor space. Plus, you can always put one of the rear seats down to get enough space for a ski duffel bag. Roof racks are not recommended on EVs due to the fact that the increased drag reduces your mileage a lot more than without one.
Uneven gaps , orange peal paint and dents! Quality
That middle row seat sings the song of its people very nicely.
I think cabin overheat protection turns off automatically every 24h. Yellow borders are probably coming from UV's from the sun too
I don't know if it's been mentioned already but you didn't point out the obvious mis-aligned rear driver side passenger door. It's off by a few multimeters compared to the front door. It's no wonder why Tesla has been focusing on the refresh of the 3, the Y and the S lately. The X is going to have to go back to the drawing board. Ditch the wing doors and boost that quality control.
2017 and 100k Kilometers - still incredible expansive! Will be below 30K euro in 5 years and another 150k Kilometers?
Seems the rear doors lock is not adjusted properly as the wear marks on the lock shouldn't be there at all. I've got a Volvo V50 and the look for the boot has no wear marks at all and it has 160 000 km
I love the Norwegian for trailer hitch/ball. 🤣
What about "Tesla hit or miss" panel alignment seen at 4:34 ?
The notorious clicking/pinging noise coming from the half shafts is not due to wear and tear. My X has had it since when I bought it brand new. I went to Tesla during the first year of ownership and they told me that they had no fix for it. They said it was a design flaw. Some sort of an angle of half shafts when suspension is raised. So I then decided not to pursue the fix. Interestingly enough, I sometimes get that noise even when suspension is in low under hard acceleration. However, that doesnt happen that often. It could also be that in some locations, the auto raise happens and I am not even aware that it has been raised. So, perhaps, there is no noise in low setting. But, definitely a problem when normal or high.

I was replacing all sorts of components over the years, lots of brake parts but also many funny little widgets in the engine bay to make it efficient or meet regulations. Even that generation of diesel had EGR valves, DPF, glow plugs, masses of hoses and pipes. Then regular oil changes. I’m not many years from now we will all look back at what an utter ballache ICE cars were and look with admiration at the heroes of the community that persist in driving something like an AMV8. Those corroded metal strut bolts are a common problem in Tesla's. My 2015 Model S had the struts replaced under warranty because of that same corrosion problem. Could this be the reason?? Galvanic corrosion occurs when two different metals are in contact in a corrosive environment: one of the metals experiences an accelerated corrosion rate. The contacting metals form a bimetallic couple because of their different affinities (or attraction) for electrons. per" galvanizeit.org/ "
