    You guys are the absolute best! I do many exercises for Left ankle, lower back, Neck, Left shoulder pain and now tennis elbow in both elbows at least 4 times a week and with some exercises I do it more often. I have found over time that if I keep doing the exercises at least 4 times a week, it not only helps me to recover from injury, but also seems to help prevent re-injury. If I do happen to "tweak" one of those previously mentioned parts, it doesn't seem to be as severe or long-lasting as it was before doing the exercises and stretches I learned from you gentlemen. For example, I have constant ongoing problems with my left ankle that I injured in Somalia about 30 years ago. Before doing these exercises if I injured my ankle, I would be in a lot of pain, for months at a time. So much that I would have to walk with a cane and I would have a noticeable limp. Now that I exercise and stretch out that ankle regularly, if I "tweak" that ankle (happened a couple weeks ago actually), it barely hurts at all and I hardly notice it. Thanks so much Bob and Brad. I very much appreciate you!😃😃😃

    Thank you so much! I've had persistent elbow pain from too much crochet(!) rushing to finish a present for someone two years ago. The pain has been persistent ever since then and I haven't dared pick up a crochet hook for fear of making things worse. I tried both the tennis elbow and golfer's elbow exercises (as I couldn't tell what my pain was) and I've noticed immediate relief. I'll keep up with these to see how it goes. Thanks for everything you're doing - a great help.

    Was it?

  • @Wolf462

    @Wolf462

    Жыл бұрын

    @@POWORDISC I can’t say that this stretch was the sole remedy, as I did and still do other exercises for increasing mobility and strength in my forearm & elbow as well as incorporating self massage by hand and also a massage gun. BUT I definitely DO give credit to this stretch for instantly relieving pain and increasing flexibility in my elbow where there was a lot of tight tendons and ligaments. I will try to explain the exercises that helped me - I don’t know if they have proper names. First i do the one where you take a bar or dowel rod and tie a rope in the middle(I drilled a hole through a piece of an old broom handle) and hang a rope off it with about 10lbs then you work your forearms and lower the weight up and down 10 times and call that a set. Do at least 3. You’re forearms will most likely be burning but it’s awesome. Obviously adjust the weight or reps to suit your ability. Next I used really light 10lb dumbbell(you can use a big can of soup though or whatever) and did “forearm curls” basically lay your forearm on a table or something and just curl the weight at your wrist. Also flip your arm over and do the opposite movement if that makes sense? Same thing low weight high reps, it’s all about working and stretching everything not building muscle here so light weight is what you want. Don’t ego lift. Then lastly I also did a rotational exercise. Online I’ve seen people do it with a pole or something but i preferred a little more weight so I used an 8lb hammer and slowly twisted my forearm left and right. I also took some considerable time off from the gym. And yes I did feel weak when I got back to it but now the tendinitis is gone and my physical therapy on my other shoulder has done wonders so the gains are coming right back way faster then I expected. Hope this helps. Have a good one.

    THANK YOU…. I hope this additional work helps finally put me at ease. I’ve been dealing with tendon issues for years. Physio helped but got expensive. I used their techniques with a Theraband bar to at least keep things from getting worse. I had to get back to lifting though otherwise I become my own worst enemy. So… I’ll add this as I think I can do this during down time easily. Bought your massage gun as well… Fwiw, the work I’m doing has kept me in the gym without worsening dehabilitating pain so I feel this may just add to the improvement. My mom, who never moves, also developed tendon issues so I’m wondering if I’m genetically predisposed to this crap :(

    I am a massage therapist and love positional release, it is like magic. I learned it 10 or so years ago in a pregnancy class for the piriformis muscle. I have been working really hard and have been experiencing both golfers and tennis elbow. So this is great to discover your video as I hadn't really thought about applying to those areas of injury. I also discovered you today b/c I had meniscus surgery last week and insurance has been challenging finding a PT. So thanks and keep up the great stuff.

    Do you have suggestions for tricep tendonitis (from push-ups and pull-ups, etc.)?

    Can you guys do a video on computer elbow/tendonosis caused by repetitive typing and mouse clicking? I had an NCV test that showed it was inflammation/entrapped nerve a few cm above the elbow on the backside (tricep tendon or near it). Feel it mostly in arms, wrists, and hands, but doctor says he's sure it's coming from elbow. Unsure if I should apply the same forms of treatment to this problem, as I understand tennis elbow is on the side and not the backside.

    @@MdManirHossainphys No but my doctor prescribed me baclofen and that has helped a lot, though hasn't fully fixed the issue. After learning about sympathetic innervation or central sensitization I believe that may be playing a role. It definitely started out as an injury in one arm but Im thinking it affected the other arm through some type of neural protective mechanisms like those two things mentioned (muscles tensing up and/or nerves flaring with certain movements). I've noticed that if I have a deadline for work or something, it becomes impossible to type, and then once I meet that deadline and relax its not quite as bad (though still bad, always bad, but becomes possible to type again with pain). I read of one person who did a combination of psychiatric things (mainly CBT therapy) and physical therapy over 6 months and it cured him after two years of this. He was adamant that the psychiatric things were crucial as he had tried everything else before. I cant find that story now and forgot what site I read it on but I vividly remember him saying that it was "two years of misery" and then completely cured in less than 6 months after he got with a team of doctors (psychiatrists and physical therapists who worked together to treat it as central sensitization). I havent started any type of therapy yet but its worth looking into. I also think posture plays a major role in this, although the issues are in my arms, I do think watching my shoulders and neck have played a role in some improvements. I'm maybe 50% better than I was at my worst, and baclofen accounts for maybe 30% of that, the other 20% is working on stress and posture.

    How can we tell the difference between tennis elbow and arthritis? I’ve had pain in my elbow for over a year and will definitely use your techniques for relief.

    Good question! I believe I have a combo of both since the pain gets worse at night (arthritis) & I am a violinist (repetitive motion). A good anti-inflammatory diet works well for arthritis & NSAIDs, OTC creams. I'm wishing you all of the best!
