I have a friend who had a new house built and he invited a bunch of us from our prayer group to come and pray in the house before it was finished and asked each of us to write a few of our favorite Bible verses on the studs before the drywall was put up. Every stud in the house had bible verses on it. we also put miraculous medals in all the window frames and crucifixes in each doorway before they were finished.

As a priest, I lament how many Catholics die without the graces of the Last Rites. Many Catholics don't know to call a priest when death is near, and many of their family members don't either. This is often because they aren't practicing Catholics. Sometimes the family calls after a death has occurred, but that's too late for Last Rites (only the living can receive the sacraments). Many times, priests learn of a death only when the funeral home calls to schedule a funeral. Another challenge is when people do call, but they wait to call until the last possible minute. In these days of fewer priests, I fear that some may not receive the last sacraments simply because no priest was available when they called.

A friend was dying of Covid. He was raised Catholic. My husband talked to his girlfriend and he was anointed with last rites at the hospital before he passed. He died at 2:30. We went to 3 o’clock mass. I asked our priest to have a special prayer said for him as we knew he was going to pass, they were going to remove the ventilator. We sat in the pew and prayed for him. As the precession came to the alter, a very heavy side door opened. No one was there…a parishioner closed it. The priest climbed the alter steps. It opened again and stayed open until the priest said to pray for him….then the door closed shortly after his name was mentioned. We know his spirit was there…..

We recently bought a house near a railroad track. And whenever we hear a (loud) train outside we say a quick prayer of Thanksgiving for our life, our family AND our home. Turns what an annoyance to some could be, into a moment of gratitude and love to Jesus for all He gives us! Thank you and God bless!

I typically sprinkle a bit of Holy Water on my bed and pillow on nights when I cannot sleep, asking the Lord to bless me and help me sleep, especially in moments when I feel temptation or some sort of discomfort that comes from the evil one. It really works and helps! Another thing is praying a Hail Mary or saying the name of Jesus and Mary when temptation comes up throughout the day. I hope these suggestions help you on your way to heaven! Praying for everyone, God bless you and keep you! Viva Cristo Rey y La Virgen de Guadalupe!

I have the words of the Surrender Novena all over my house-at my desk, on my fridge, taped to the big Jesus painting in my bedroom. The words are: "O Jesus, I surrender myself to you. Take care of everything. Amen." Also, I saw this old Romanian video on KZread, where a priest told the story of him meeting an old monk who'd sit in a dark corner in the chapel to listen to the Mass, but the corner was always brightly lit even though there were no lights. Finally, the priest figured out that the light was emanating from the monk himself. He asked him how he became so holy, and the monk said that he incessantly recited the Jesus Prayer, with every breath. (Words: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.") I thought, how much easier would it be if you would sing it?! The Holy Spirit showed me that this prayer fits perfectly with the melody of "Greensleeves," and it feels great singing it.

Thank you for the hacks! I created a folder on KZread with my daily prayers, rosaries, etc. Also, I have a draft email that has other prayers and important religious sayings that allows for modification. Both make for easy access whether I'm sitting in front of the computer or out and have my phone with me.

I have St Benedict medals nailed or buried on our property lines, over every exterior door and door wall and windows including the garage door. Also nailed to the foundation wood of our deck. There are several different types of crosses over interior doors. Also displayed in our dining room is a manager year round. We have 2 holy water fonts (Sacred Heart and Blessed Mary). I like the idea of a holy water squirt bottle. We have Good Samaritan Oil n diffusers and Rollons. Someday I will have a Mary Garden and more crucifixes.

My faves right now which are pulled from a standard English-Latin Booklet Missal: Memorare after the Rosary. "O my good Angel, whom God, by His divine mercy, has appointed to be my guardian, enlighten and protect, direct and govern me this day." Also, the Acts of Faith, Hope and Charity. "Breathe into me, Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Move in me, Holy Spirit, that my work, too may be holy. Attract my heart, Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy. Strengthen me, Holy Spirit, that I may defend all that is holy. Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy." St. Augustine

It's important to know that we are all unique and we will all develop unique prayer lives. That said, I'm offering these prayer hacks that have helped me. So here goes: I created a 'morning prayers' folder on my computer desktop. Here I include a general morning offering, a consecration prayer to Our Lady and one for Saint Joseph. Then I pray what I call the root prayers of the rosary, that part from the Credo to the first joyful mystery. I then pray the 15 mysteries throughout my day, on the way to work, during work when possible and on the way home. By the time I'm home in the evening my rosary for the day is complete. Then I have a night prayers folder on my desktop which contains some evening prayers and an examination of conscience. Also, I email myself all the sins I can recall so I can easily prepare for my monthly confessions. Hope these help.

To supplement the above I have a folder of daytime prayers where I can access prayers normally said at noon, 3 pm and the Divine Mercy. I include Benedict medals at each window (not for superstitious reasons), chalk blessing above door (can learn about online) and holy water. I have certain phrases I say when I see certain icons in my house. I have one Russian icon of Jesus. Each time I pass it I ask God that I may be with him in Heaven forever and worship before his Holy Face. Either this or I say the phrase 'Save souls.' when I pass it in the hallway.

As an Eastern Catholic I try to pray the abbreviated hours of the church, I have my alarm set on my phone to remind me. If you are stuck in traffic start praying the Our Father out loud over and over again... it's amazing! The Jesus Prayer, Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me a sinner, is great meditate prayer. I also wear a St. Benedict metal everyday and night.

Jonathan jones, get little Miraculous medals and tuck them away around the house. Ask your Catholic friends to help you get them. You can spray holy water around the house especially in areas where the family gathers like the dining table, the kitchen and the couch in front of the TV. Say an our Father or a glory be as you spray each area. Peace and blessings to you.

You could always set alarms to pray the divine office (liturgy of the hours), which can be tricking to learn at the beggining, but as you get more and more practice it becomes an easy, and also powerful prayer to do in your hours of the day. I would start doing the vespers, at 6 p.m then would add more hours as i'd need. For example, before bedtime there's the amazing prayer of completes.
