The Feminine Genius w/ Lisa Cotter | E63

I brought Lisa Cotter, a Catholic speaker and author, onto the podcast to talk about her journey with femininity and Christianity. Lisa shared her background being raised in the 90s and how that affected her view of womanhood in relation to Christianity. We talked about the Church's teachings on femininity, the feminine genius, equality, masculinity, and much more.

Love this so much! I am always so in awe of how us Christian women are displayed in the bible. I think it’s beautiful.

Love hearing from Lisa again! I heard her speak for the first time in a video on Tuesday (last night) in RCIA. Please pray for me in my journey into Catholicism. ❤️ This was an awesome episode. Lila had such insightful additions and questions. I always enjoy hearing from her!

This is great, makes me love women even more. Great talk about how we are all eventually called to serve, not as a single person, but as Married or Consecrated.

And I also grew up in the 80/90s And I don’t want to compete with my Godly guy pals And I have such absolute honor/respect for all my amazing Godly guy pals at my church. And I have learned so much from them. And then I apply what I learn in church to my ministries at church. And In life. And I’m not better than my amazing Godly guy pals :)And they really do challenge me to do better :) And I’m just so extremely extremely grateful/thankful to them:)@Lila Rose Podcast

As a woman in the Catholic Church. When I was growing up I was raised in a liberal setting at school and was taught to be more masculine and my dad never was there and my mom passed away when I was young. How do you retrain your brain to be more feminine? It is effecting my relationship because i feel out of touch with my feminine side.

Lila. Love your show. But as a pro video guy. I think the video filter is super heavy. Clean footage would be better.

Are men and women indeed complementary to each other? Sure, but we should understand in what way they are complements. Here is when the biology comes to the scene. In a biological perspective, everything that is outside your body is part of the environment, including other people, which includes the opposite sex.( Your kids are a different story because they are your legacy). There are two types of things in the environment: Resources: things we should take advantage of. Threats: things we should avoid. Our genes build our bodies considering what I said above and with the goal to spread themselves in the environment. Therefore, our genes are not concerned to someone's else benefits besides our own(Again, our kids are a completely different story). Therefore men and women are complementary in a opportunistic way. We developed our strategies to take the most out of the opposite sex. This is the context in which the term "complementary" should be understood.

I'm not Catholic. I was raised Baptist. I'm wondering if I should be a Methodist. But as a Christian I would say absolutely not. God may want children and a family from you / for you but ultimately he wants your love and worship and for you to be kind to your fellow man. At least that's how I was taught, and it seems right.

Catholic Church does not ban such women. We all serve God in different ways. I’m single, Catholic, and have just joined the Catholic Women’s Association (CWA).

No they are not banned from church. Purpose can be found to serve God without having children as well. The important thing is that the husband and wife continue to communicate their family planning goals and work on them together.

Some marriage removes the power of motherhood...misogyny removes and isolates the mother from natural bonds....JESUS did not recognize the mother bond...all r my mother and brothers...shunning...
