I liked Jake’s confidence and flirtation style. He could’ve been good for Liv if the writers didn’t make him a weird amalgamation of a lost boy needing to be rescued and a dead-eyed, remorseless killer.

He wasn't paid by Ditz (👈 typo but strangely fitting 😉) but ordered and the same with her father (although I think the father paid him🤔). All in all he truly loved and cared 4 her if they would of stayed on that island they would of been happy. The writers did his character and the last season wrong in my opinion by changing Olivia and him so much from what they were at their core.

I love how Liv played up the phone call. She knew Fitz was looking and she played it just like many of us women have done in the past. You use the tools presented, and she used it well. Fitz needed to be slapped off his pedestal. Good slap Liv.

Poor Jake. He was already broken to begin with, and then he got roped into the chaos, fell in love with Liv and he then just descended into the abyss from there. I do think that Liv loved Jake too, I really do. But Fitz was the love of her life and there was just no chance for anyone else, even if she wanted there to be at times.

She told her father season 7 that Fitz was the only man she ever loved. She did admit to having feelings for Jake but it was never love. Just because she screwed Jake many times doesn't mean she loved him. It was always one sided

I 100% agree. I stopped watching scandal because I didn't like the fact that she's having an affair with the president and making melly look like she's a crazy one. I'm sorry it's disrespectful. And you don't deserve more respect because melly wasn't nice. And I loved Jake that's literally the only reason I was watching it just because I've loved that actor since he was on Felicity back in the day. He kinda did that to himself. It's sad...I know but dammit Fitz, a year? 1 year, 365 days, 52 weeks...that's a freakin long time to not talk to ur woman. So he brought that on himself. He wanted to punish het but that kinda backfired. He was more hurt than she was 😔 heartbreaking the way he looks at her...😪

It's amazing how people promote infidelity and cheating, it's extremely heartbreaking and rips families apart!

In a general sense yes but not here in Scandal. This is the situation where the wife fusses at the mistress for leaving her husband because it jeopardizes her place as First Lady and ultimately chance to run for office. Mellie Grant was never dutiful wife who was cheated on. She lied to and sex starved her husband for 10 years and then pushed him in the arms of someone. She has lied, manipulated, blackmailed, murdered and even induce labor just to keep her position of power. Her fate was of her own doing. At 0.24 Fitz's look was like 'GIRRRRL once I get my hands on you! It's going to be an all nighted' Even girtting his teeth ever so subtly.....whew. I feel bad for actors who have to work/make out with hot actresses. I mean the girl looked hot here...and the actor has to 'pretend' not to be smitten in real life- Tough job they have ;)

Feeling nostalgia because I was so IN to this show back when it first started. Kerry absolutely served as Olivia but the writing got too predictable for me. I know it’s Shonda verse and is fun and a bit campy but I couldn’t hear her declare “you’re the leader of the free world” one more cot damn time. It was impactful when she said it the first couple of times but it started to lose its edge and became a corny catch phrase, just my opinion! Fitz and Olivia started to majorly turn me off and I lost interest. I became more interested in the side characters but it got so rinse repeat with Fitz and Liv that I just couldn’t invest anymore. But, I also don’t know how the show ends and if there was any satisfying closure. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jake was everything and the writer just took him off the board and tanked all the potential. I was pissed. They always promote toxic relationships over anything healthy. Same thing with Carrie and Big, we all knew Aidan was the shit!
