It hurts me when he says that.

The way she ran from him. She knew he came around that desk with purpose. She was afraid he would touch her and she didn’t trust herself not to give in.

They haven't broken up. They just can't be fully together right now. Mellie and Fitz have to continue pretending for the sake of his presidency. He still calls Olivia every night and talks to her about everything like a real relationship.

Keep in mind that Olivia isn't a normal person. She was raised with no love in her life. Her father specifically wanted her to just be a big achievement and successful and a powerhouse but have no social life no happiness so love. He put her in boarding school away from him and her mother because he didn't even want her to have love from her own parents. As much as she wants Fitz and jam, and vermont and kids once reality hit of her having a normal life she was scared and what do she do she runs. She will never stop loving Fitz but to be happy with him she not ready yet and with her father constantly brainwashing her it don't help.

There was a lot of honest, raw love in this scene... They didn't lie 2 each other, they didn't try 2 manipulate each other. He didn't pretend about Verna, but he was his jealous self in processing Jake. She gave him a new life without being haunted, AND HE HEARD THAT SHE LOVES HIM. She told him that other ppl can't B hurt by her mistakes, & 4 their love. He HEARD that too. I'm disappointed that he hasn't grown enough 2 not run 2 'Mama/drink' when hurt, he has 2 find another way 2 cope with pain.

What's crazy is if she were to marry him and become first lady he wouldve won the election because they were gonna be happy. Remember him having a dead marriage was the reason why he didn't win in the first place why it had to be rigged. She wouldve been right by his side and Cyrus wouldn't have a job cause there would be no place for him. My thing is why do presidents need a first lady? They couldve been married and he stay president and Olivia stays Olivia Pope and assiciates and everything would be great but it's scandal so it can't be that easy.

I have a feeling that Fitz saying, "You will be my first lady" will actually come happen. Idk how or when, but it will happen. This show always does round abouts and they will come back together as they are like magnets and have an invisible pull. Liv wants this man so badly....but right now (I dont know why) this needs to be done. I hope s3 is all about the fall out of this and the presidental race only. I need to see Olitz in the wh together. We need it actually.

He shouldve known that Cyrus was gonna say something. Both Olivia and Fitz tell Cyrus their business and it backfires every time. Cyrus has always used their relationship to his advantage. He was never team Olitz because remember some men aren't meant to be happy they are meant to be great and with Fitz happy he has no use for Cyrus because Fitz only listens to Olivia.

​@@faithwatkins7811Cyrus didn't like their relationship because Fitz would or will take advice from Olivia. He never liked them being together. Remember he broke up their meeting in the rose garden. He didn't trust them being together because he would lose control over Fitz. It was always about him. He showed Fitz videos of Olivia with Jake and told Olivia about Verna. Cyrus was a snake in the grass from day one.

I was hoping that Shonda and company will finally let these two realized that in order for their love (and lives) to survive they have to work together. Cyrus and Mellie use and manipulate Olitz to their advantage. They encourage the relationship if it gets them what they want but crushes it the moment it starts to negatively affect their own position of power. It's taking forever for 2 seemingly smart people to see that working together means survival

That season 2 finale shocked everyone, including the cast, they can't say it though. They will lose their jobs. So they have to say wonderful things. We all know she messed up, and that will never take away from the magnificent job/writing that comes from her. However, you cant give us "Woman Scorned" then 222 with Fitz crawling back to Mellie. Cant watch scenes with Joke, just cant. I ff through them all. Olitz is the real thing and I am afraid if she destroys that she is going to lose viewers.

you know I've been trying to figure that out too about Owen using B6-13 2 bring him his daughter. I remember when Cy & Liv was sitting outside the WH drinking coffee as soon as she got up Owen sat down next to Cy & you see Liv 10 feet away. The only thing I can think of is that he does not want anyone to know their relation.

If in fact Fitz is in the bed with Livvie just after her this scene, that was suppose to have been cut out, the scene needs to be released, we only see her in the bed, happy. It's apparent that something happened the night before because she is very happy getting ready for her walk, before the buttom fell out. The press was aware from Mellie's statement of the affair and could have followed him to the apt. that night, snooped and fould out that it was Livvie.

Remember when Fitz told Mellie off in the hospital n cy asked who came up with that luv n fitz was like yeah, cg had the most disgusted face ever! Then he went to them respectively n tore them apart! Yea cy a do anything to keep Olitz apart right now

They aren't together because once again she listens to outside people. Cyrus uses Olitz feelings for each other against them. It's Cyrus and Mellie that wanna stay in the white house to keep their place in power and they need Fitz to do so. They could care less about Fitz happiness. He's only running again because Olivia wants him to. Once again every time he tries to make himself available for Olivia she walks away. We find out later next season why.

ok.. so I've convinced myself that Olitz is working together and hatched a plan BUT I'm not sure I like the idea of them making a "fool" of Mellie in S3, if only for the sole reason it will make some members of the audience feel sorry for her and hate Olitz. Now, from what I gathered, this (making Mellie more sympathetic) might actually be something SR wants. so....

Harrison surprised me this episode because he is usually very vocal. He looked like he was thinking/processing the events but he said nothing. I don't know about the plan to defuse her dad because she and I was shocked to see him in the car. At this point she doesn't know that Jake was thrown in the hole. But I am glad she chose the Gladiators.

the best way to do that is to run as a divorced Fitz, no props, no imagery...on his own

She really will. Nothing is wrong if Olitz has to take a backseat for now. Because we got bigger things to deal with: who out Liv? Fitz running back for a 2nd term. Her gladtiators at OPA. Liv's daddy issues, etc. As long as the 2 of them are together it does not have to be intense all the time. I don't think I was expecting Fitz and Olivia together at the ebd of the finale. This is like season 1 and how America's Baby came up. Liv telling Fitz needs Mellie by his side for to keep his presidency intact. IDK I just get them as starcrossed lovers who just gets to be kept apart fr each other. I want OPA and they need Olivia more, so her choice is what's best " I am their gladiator".

Cyrus didn't just tell him Liv, he showed him the tape. Fitz has the tape that you know nothing about, the world has the tape. That is so wrong on every level, (but Jake is the good guy) Fitz treasured you and protected you to the point that he could not even speak to Cyrus about the relationship despite the fact that he tells him everything. You don't need to speak to either Cyrus or Jake EVER again for putting you out there like that. Dirty!!! Let's see how SR handle this loose info if at all.

When Cy told her what she'd done 2 Fitz (forced Fitz 2 defend his legacy & the country by killing Verna), b/c Liv supported Defi, is was when she decided it had 2 end. That 2 many good ppl were being damaged by her terrible decision 2 go against 'everything that she believed in' 4 love. It seems that Huck figured out Rowan's role in the bad stuff, that's Y he warned Liv twice. Also when Liv realized how many ppl her father owned, including Cy she had 2 go undercover, that's how I C her decision

I don't think this was the end of their conversation....I'm hoping season 3 will reveal that!! Plan B anyone? She was all smiles and in her white attire at episode end, I think something happened that they are waiting until season 3 to show us. Shonda said they have been writing since May 1st so I'm thinking this ain't it for our babies!!

Olivia wants Fitz to finish what he started. She knows he won't be happy if he doesn't. She also knows that her AND Fitz would be crucified in society if they really made their relationship public. It would destroy his chances And her business.

They did an interview (S2, Molly episode) about how they met, Fitz later talked with Mellie about the real truth in how his father brought him to the Tavern & Mellie's boss brought her too.Last episode shows that Liv is gone & her affair with Fitz is public (can't wait to c how Liv is going to fix it). Fitz & Liv previous plan to be the next First Lady is over. He's on his knees to Mellie. If she leaves Fitz it looks very bleak for him so the First Lady does have control right now. what clip?

I remember Jake telling her about the B6-13 but I don't remember her knowing it was her father--good point. but I thought she recoiled from Cy when he her that Fitz killed Verna. I'm going to re-watch to see what I missed.

Fitz had no right to be jealous about Jake anyway. They had barely spoken in almost a year when that happened, and when they did speak, Fitz treated her like crap. And that's rich anyway coming from him when he slept withAmanda Tanner within weeks of Liv leaving the White House AND, most importantly of all, he's married to Mellie! But, you're right, Fitz has a major flaw. He's too dependent on others to prop him up. When Liv left, he ran straight to Mellie! He needs to stand up on his own.

"Liv did not have a problem with Fitz killing Verna" I can't agree with that one simply because the President her lover committed murder; she couldn't wrap her head around that one. True Verna was evil & selfish & she decided to have a conscience while going for her cancer treatments; confesses to Fitz "I tried to have you killed" Defiance and her plan, barely breathing-Fitz saw an opening and took it Verna put him in that instant situation and only solution. I guess Verna miscalculated Fitz

As they're talking about a clean slate, I think Liv realises that Fitz needs to win the presidency legitimately, more than he may need her at that point, just as much as her gladiators do actually need her. And the best way of doing that was with Mellie. Notice how she didn't say they were over. She said to put his dad, Verna and Defiance behind him, but not 'them'. I think shes willing to wait the 4 more years for him while she handles her own business.This is definitely not the last of Olitz!

@Kaiana, know it's a show, but that thing just kills me. A loose sex tape with Cyrus, Charlie,?the father, Jake looking at. Jake is such a jerk. Why didn't he destroy the tape?. No one had to know there was a tape. The jerk watched and rewatched, then allowed others to get their hands on it. Unless, unless KM, they are going to use it to get Olitz out of the jam they are in. That's the only way it makes sense to have this tape. He is as tall as Fitz, it could work as mistaken identity.

You said it girl. This is an intelligent show with an intelligent woman at the helm with intelligent Gladiators watching. We dont need silly inconsistencies. We do not like Liv looking silly. SR had her looking silly in a couple episodes. We do not want her mute while Mellie, Abbie and Cy berate her. Even Quinn wants to talk to her any old way. Olitz needs to take a back seat, we know. just dont have us believing that there's a Jalivia as long as Fitz is alive. Olitz grew in 220, let them be.

Yes, she was surprised 2 C Dad in the limo, BUT she did tell Cy she knew who was behind B6-13, trying 2 kill her & split Olitz. She said that she knew, but didn''t care, she loved Fitz & they'd B together. Then Cy said that since he found out about Olitz, he's been trying 2 keep them safe (apart), by killing, lying etc. letting Liv know that Cy owes her father too, & Liv recoiled from Cy. That & the camera angle in the Oval, seemed 2 say that from the start there's a plan 2 keep U apart. Y?.

I don't want to sell it to you (lol)...not to add all the side jobs and her jealous reaction about the affair but the highlight during season 1 was Amanda & Fitz and the accusation of her pregnancy belonging to him, exposure and finally the belief that he murdered her. War declared by Fitz & Cy-->Liv & her team were about to go gung-ho! But it was a lie except the sex act. That was what she had to deal with at that time (all we knew for S1).

Liv did NOT have a problem with Fitz killing Verna, except that SHE, LIV put him in a situation that that was the only solution. It's the same way she's disturbed that her decisions made a nice girl like Lindsey Dwyer/Quinn Perkins, start 2 like torturing, like she got Huck into a situation that would get him back in a box, & so on. Her father seems 2 B a man who believes in the good of the republic B4 ppl, he tortures & kills even his own staff if they fall in love & have families. I think Liv

Liv and her gut feeling decisions does not always have the right outcome by associations like Doyle-->he's the one who botched up a job by having 7 people killed & then frame Lindsay/Quinn if Liv did not do what she did Quinn would have been executed. Huck reverted back to 752 and Quinn chose to torture Billy Chambers--I didn't see that one coming but she was a natural.

The thing with Shonda (that I both respect & dislike) is her commitment 2 a level of reality within fiction. We all know the growth of a personlike Fitz (if he were real) doesn't happen in 4 - 6 months (true rehab/behavior change takes longer), so she draws out the growth of her characters which is painful 4 us as viewers. In S2 Olitz grew a lot they NOW BOTH know they're committed 2 each other. I think in S3 their growth will B in not letting ppl come between them. It's an issue 4 this couple.

It will never be the end of them "Liv and Grant" (lol) but definitely for a while...because Cyrus and Owen put a stop to that happiness. Cy OMG--he is good. I think knowing that all the previous scandals and secrets are behind them (except the murder from the President). David came to the rescue and he got his job back. He sent Olivia the tape and "The White Hat" Jake rescued her from an assassin. She smiles because she thinks everything is brand new I can start fresh until she opened the door
