Time to fit the refurbished Zenith 36IV carb and prime the lift / fuel pump too. on my land rover series 2a rebuild.

On the zenith, there's suppost to be a composite spacer block that raises the carb slightly higher!

yea it's there! just hard to see cos it doesn't look black anymore 👍

Totally agree a refurbed original Zenith is the way to go. I got an extra 10mph out of an 88 after changing the copy carb over to the as-new original, and a gear higher on the hills. I also replaced the gaskets under the spacer block as well as it looked ancient, to eliminate any air leaks. Are you sure it's a copy carb as the ones I've seen don't have '361V' markings on the side.

Nice job! My 2a came with an aftermarket Webber carb; curious how they differ from the oem Zenith...?

Could you not have put two nuts on the thread and lowered it down? I'm curious because I might have to do that to mine but I'm not sure if the thread can be lowered

@@TheRetroSeries2a thank you I can't get mine running, I've refurbished the carb using a genuine kit but petrol is pouring through the carb and flooding the engine
